它们均有“普通的，常见的”的意思。

common 侧重于“普遍；常见”，指许多事物或人共同具有而常见的性质。

ordinary 侧重于表示“平常；平凡；无奇特之处”

That morning he came earlier than usual, for it was not an ordinary day.

usual 指从时间和频度上讲通常发生的事情或一种习惯。
