1/9s OUTPUT VOLTAGE CAN SWING TOGROUNDs EXCELLENT PHASE MARGIN ONCAPACITIVE LOADSs GAIN BANDWIDTH PRODUCT: 3.5MHz s STABLE AND LOW OFFSET VOLTAGE s THREE INPUT OFFSET VOLTAGESELECTIONS DESCRIPTIONThe TS272 devices are low cost, dual operational amplifiers designed to operate with single or dual supplies. These operational amplifiers use the ST silicon gate CMOS process allowing an excellent consumption-speed ratio. These series are ideally suited for low consumption applications.Three power consumptions are available allowing to have always the best consumption-speed ratio:u I CC = 10µA/amp.: TS27L2 (very low power)u I CC = 150µA/amp.: TS27M2 (low power)u I CC = 1mA/amp.: TS272 (standard)These CMOS amplifiers offer very high input im-pedance and extremely low input currents. The major advantage versus JFET devices is the very low input currents drift with temperature (see fig-ure 2).ORDER CODEN = Dual in Line Package (DIP)D = Small Outline Package (SO) - also available in Tape & Reel (DT)P = Thin Shrink Small Outline Package (TSSOP) - only available in Tape & Reel (PT)PIN CONNECTIONS (top view)Part NumberTemperature RangePackage N D P TS272C/AC/BC 0°C, +70°C •••TS272I/AI/BI -40°C, +125°C •••TS272M/AM/BM -55°C, +125°C •••Example :TS272ACNTS272C,I,MHIGH PERFORMANCECMOS DUAL OPERATIONAL AMPLIFIERSNovember 2001TS272C,I,M2/9BLOCK DIAGRAMABSOLUTE MAXIMUM RATINGSOPERATING CONDITIONSSymbol ParameterTS272C/AC/BCTS272I/AI/BITS272M/AM/BMUnit V CC +Supply Voltage 1)18V V id Differential Input Voltage 2)±18V V i Input Voltage 3)-0.3 to 18V I o Output Current for V CC + ≥ 15V ±30mA I in Input Current±5mA T oper Operating Free-Air Temperature Range 0 to +70-40 to +125-55 to +125°C T stgStorage Temperature Range-65 to +150°C1.All values, except differential voltage are with respect to network ground terminal.2.Differential voltages are the non-inverting input terminal with respect to the inverting input terminal.3.The magnitude of the input and the output voltages must never exceed the magnitude of the positive supply voltage.Symbol ParameterValue Unit V CC +Supply Voltage3 to 16V V icmCommon Mode Input Voltage Range0 to V CC + - 1.5VTS272C,I,M SCHEMATIC DIAGRAM (for 1/2 TS272)3/9TS272C,I,M4/9ELECTRICAL CHARACTERISTICSV CC + = +10V, V CC -= 0V, T amb = +25°C (unless otherwise specified)SymbolParameterTS272C/AC/BCTS272I/AI/BI TS272M/AM/BM UnitMin.Typ.Max.Min.Typ.Max.V ioInput Offset Voltage V O = 1.4V, V ic = 0VTS272C/I/MTS272AC/AI/AM TS272B/C/I/M T min ≤ T amb ≤ T maxTS272C/I/MTS272AC/AI/AM TS272B/C/I/M1.10.90.251052126.531.10.90.251052126.53mVDV io Input Offset Voltage Drift 22µV/°C I ioInput Offset Current note 1)V ic = 5V, V O = 5V T min ≤ T amb ≤ T max 1.Maximum values including unavoidable inaccuracies of the industrial test.11001200pAI ib Input Bias Current - see note 1V ic = 5V, V O = 5V T min ≤ T amb ≤ T max 11501300pAV OH High Level Output Voltage V id = 100mV, R L = 10k ΩT min ≤ T amb ≤ T max 8.28.18.48.288.4VV OL Low Level Output Voltage V id = -100mV5050mVA vd Large Signal Voltage GainV iC = 5V, R L = 10k Ω, V o = 1V to 6V T min ≤ T amb ≤ T max1071510615V/mVGBP Gain Bandwidth ProductA v = 40dB, R L = 10k Ω, C L = 100pF, f in = 100kHz 3.5 3.5MHz CMR Common Mode Rejection Ratio V iC = 1V to 7.4V, V o = 1.4V 65806580dB SVRSupply Voltage Rejection Ratio V CC + = 5V to 10V, V o = 1.4V 60706070dBI CC Supply Current (per amplifier) A v = 1, no load, V o = 5V T min ≤ T amb ≤ T max 100015001600100015001700µAI o Output Short Circuit Current V o = 0V, V id = 100mV 6060mA I sink Output Sink CurrentV o = V CC , V id = -100mV4545mA SR Slew Rate at Unity GainR L = 10k Ω, C L = 100pF, V i = 3 to 7V 5.5 5.5V/µs φm Phase Margin at Unity GainA v = 40dB, R L = 10k Ω, C L = 100pF 4040Degrees K OV Overshoot Factor3030%e n Equivalent Input Noise Voltage f = 1kHz, R s = 100Ω3030V o1/V o2Channel Separation120120dBnV Hz -----------TS272C,I,M5/9TYPICAL CHARACTERISTICSFigure 1 : Supply Current (each amplifier) versusSupply VoltageFigure 2 : Input Bias Current versus Free Air TemperatureFigure 3a : High Level Output Voltage versusHigh Level Output CurrentFigure 3b : High Level Output Voltage versusHigh Level Output CurrentFigure 4a : Low Level Output Voltage versus LowLevel Output CurrentFigure 4b : Low Level Output Voltage versus LowLevel Output CurrentTS272C,I,M6/9Figure 5 : Open Loop Frequency Response andPhase ShiftFigure 6 : Gain Bandwidth Product versus SupplyVoltageFigure 7 : Phase Margin versus Supply VoltageFigure 8 : Phase Margin versus Capacitive LoadFigure 9 : Slew Rate versus Supply VoltageFigure 10 : Input Voltage Noise versusFrequencyTS272C,I,M7/9PACKAGE MECHANICAL DATA 8 PINS - PLASTIC DIPDimensionsMillimetersInches Min.Typ.Max.Min.Typ.Max.A 3.320.131a10.510.020B 1.15 1.650.0450.065b 0.3560.550.0140.022b10.2040.3040.0080.012D 10.920.430E 7.959.750.3130.384e 2.540.100e37.620.300e47.620.300F 6.60260i 5.080.200L 3.18 3.810.1250.150Z1.520.060TS272C,I,M8/9PACKAGE MECHANICAL DATA8 PINS - PLASTIC MICROPACKAGE (SO)DimensionsMillimetersInches Min.Typ.Max.Min.Typ.Max.A 1.750.069a10.10.250.0040.010a2 1.650.065a30.650.850.0260.033b 0.350.480.0140.019b10.190.250.0070.010C 0.250.50.0100.020c145° (typ.)D 4.8 5.00.1890.197E 5.86.20.2280.244e 1.270.050e3 3.810.150F 3.8 4.00.1500.157L 0.41.270.0160.050M 0.60.024S8° (max.)TS272C,I,M9/9PACKAGE MECHANICAL DATA8 PINS - THIN SHRINK SMALL OUTLINE PACKAGE (TSSOP)DimensionsMillimetersInches Min.Typ.Max.Min.Typ.Max.A 1.200.05A10.050.150.010.006A20.80 1.00 1.050.0310.0390.041b 0.190.300.0070.15c 0.090.200.0030.012D 2.90 3.00 3.100.1140.1180.122E 6.400.252E1 4.30 4.40 4.500.1690.1730.177e 0.650.025k 0°8°0°8°l 0.500.600.750.090.02360.030L 0.450.6000.750.0180.0240.030L11.0000.039Information furnished is believed to be accurate and reliable.

DESCRIPTION
The WT272C/WT274C is a dual/quad low power CMOS operational amplifiers IC. It provides high performance operation at low supply voltages. The basic amplifier can operate at supply voltage as low as 1.2V with very low power consumption and makes it perfect for battery-powered application. The input common-mode voltage extends to the negative rail. The output swings to both rails with light load. The input bias current is inherently low and the input impedance is extremely high. The devices are ideal upgrades for industrial standards OP amp.
