Today is Monday and I have to write an essay about what I did this weekend for my English class. Writing essays is not my favorite thing to do, but I'll try my best!This weekend was a lot of fun. It started on Friday after school. My best friend Sophia came over to my house to have a sleepover. We've been best friends since kindergarten. As soon as I got home from school, I rushed to clean my room before she came over. My mom always makes me clean it because she says it's a pigsty otherwise. I think she's being overdramatic, but I did it anyway.Sophia arrived at 6pm with her Hello Kitty suitcase and sleeping bag. First we had dinner with my family. My mom made chicken nuggets, tater tots, and broccoli. The chicken nuggets were dinosaur shaped which is my favorite! After dinner, Sophia and I went up to my room. We turned on some music and danced around like crazy people. We even made up a dance routine to "Party in the U.S.A." by Miley Cyrus. I'm a huge Miley Cyrus fan!Around 8pm, we put on our pajamas and brushed our teeth. Then we made a epic pillow fort in my room using every pillow,sheet, and blanket we could find. We got in the fort with snacks, games, and movies. We played Korean dramas on my tablet and laughed at all the cheesy kissing scenes. We also played Truth or Dare and I had to dare put an ice cube down my shirt! It was so cold but we couldn't stop laughing.We stayed up watching movies and telling scary stories until well past midnight. We even called a few friends and told them the Bloody Mary story to try to freak them out. Finally, around1am, we forced ourselves to go to sleep since we were both yawning like crazy. I felt bad for my parents having to listen to our shrieking laughter so late into the night.The next morning, I woke up around 9am. Sophia was still fast asleep, snoring away. I got up to use the bathroom and get dressed for the day. When I came back, my dad had brought us pancakes in bed! They were shaped like Mickey Mouse heads and had whipped cream smiley faces. We happily chowed down on those while watching cartoons.After pancakes, we got ready for the day and headed outside. It was a beautiful spring day, sunny and 70 degrees. We decided to go to the park down the street. My dad drove us there and dropped us off with a picnic lunch. At the park, we played on all the equipment - the swings, the slide, the monkey bars, and themerry-go-round. We also played a intense game of cats vs mice tag that got us both completely out of breath.After the park, we walked over to the outdoor mall nearby. We went into the Disney store and spent forever looking at all the plushies, t-shirts, and other fun stuff. I spent my allowance on a cute Stitch backpack buddy. Then we stopped at the plaza fountain and made a wish by throwing pennies in. We walked all the way around the outdoor mall just browsing the different stores and street performers.Around 4pm, my mom picked us up from the mall and took us back home. We were hot, sweaty messes from being outside all day. We took showers and put on clean clothes. Then we just relaxed in the living room watching a movie and eating pizza for dinner. Around 7pm, Sophia's mom came to pick her up. We were both exhausted from our exciting weekend! We made plans for a swimming playdate the next weekend.On Sunday morning, I slept in until 10am. I was definitely still tired from the sleepover! When I finally rolled out of bed, I had a big breakfast of pancakes, eggs, and bacon that my dad cooked. Then I spent most of the day being lazy - watching TV, playing video games, and reading books. That evening, we went to mylittle brother's baseball game. He's only 8 but he's really good at baseball. His team won their game 7-4!After the baseball game, we stopped for ice cream at my favorite place, Coldstone Creamery. I got my usual - afreshly-made vanilla ice cream with Reese's Peanut Butter cups, brownie bites, and caramel mixed in. So delicious!When we got home, I took a bath and got ready for bed. I had school the next day sadly. As I laid in bed thinking about my awesome weekend, I couldn't wait for the next one to roll around! Having fun with my best friend, being outside, and just relaxing at home made it such a great couple of days. After our games, we sometimes go out for pizza or ice cream if we played well that day.In the afternoons, I love going to the park near my house. There's a huge playground with so many fun things to do. My favorite is this gigantic twisty slide that's at least three stories tall!I also like swinging on the swings and pretending I'm a superhero flying through the air. Sometimes I bring my bike too and I cruise around the trails in the woods.When it starts getting dark, my friends and I will have battles with our Nerf guns in my backyard. We build forts out of cardboard boxes and take turns being the good guys and bad guys. Those foam darts really hurt if you get hit from close range! We play until our moms call us in for dinner.Sunday mornings are pretty relaxed. I sleep in again and then my family goes to church. It's kind of boring but at least I get to see my friends in Sunday school. The best part is getting to play games and color pictures about the Bible stories we learn.After church, my parents take me and my sister to our favorite diner for brunch. I always get the chocolate chip pancakes which are amazing! We sit there for a couple hours just hanging out and taking our time eating.In the afternoons, my dad likes to take me to the driving range to practice my golf swing. I'm not very good yet but I'm getting better. Dad says if I stick with it, I could be really great someday. I like golfing because you can crack jokes with your friends the whole time you play.The evenings are my favorite part of Sundays. We have this tradition in my family where we all cuddle up on the couch and watch movies together. We make popcorn and my mom lets us build a fort out of blankets and pillows on the floor in front of the TV. Those are some of my most cherished memories - just laughing with my family at the funny parts of the movies.Then, way too soon, it's time for bed because school is the next day. I stay up as late as I can reading comics by flashlight under my covers.
