[名师点津]used to和would二者均含有过去常做某事的意义,used to表示过去经常发生的动作或存在的状态,强调现在不那样了,而would单纯指过去常做某事,不含与现在比较的意思。

突破1个高考句型
(教材P44)It is hard to think of a world without metals.很难想象一个没有金属的世界(是什么样子)。

本句为“It is+形容词+不定式”句式。

其中it是形式主语,不定式短语是真正的主语。

北高考)有时候举例也许有助于解释抽象的概念。

②It is very kind of you to send me such a nice present.送我一件这么漂亮的礼物你真是太好了。

③Everyone in our society should help those in need,but it is more important to be(be)sincere and earnest.在我们这个社会,每个人都应该帮助那些需要帮助的人,但更重要的是真诚和诚挚。

④It's no use arguing(argue) with her-she won't listen.
跟她争论没有用——她不会听的。

词通常是difficult,necessary,important,quick,easy等,这些形容词多与事物的特征有关。

而of前面的形容词常常是wise,kind,stupid,silly,bright,nice,good等,这些形容词常常与人的性格特点有关。

普通表达:You are careless to make so many mistakes in the exam.
①高级表达:It is careless of you to make so many mistakes in the exam.(形式主语)
②普通表达:He didn't pass the exam and that's a shame.
高级表达:It is a shame that he didn't pass the exam.(形式主语)
(教材P47)The closer you are,the more you'll see.
你离得越近,看到的就越多。

句型“the+比较级 ...,the+比较级...”意为“越……就越……”,表示主、从句的两个谓语是同时进行的,表示一方随另一方程度的变化而变化。

(1)从结构上看,第一个“the+比较级”是表示条件的状语从句(在表示将来意义时,从句用一般现在时表示将来);第二个“the+比较级”是主句。

(2)本结构可以用省略形式。

①The longer(long)we delay it the more tired(tire)we feel.(
我们拖延得越长,就感觉越累。

②The more difficult(difficult) the questions are,the less likely he is able to answer them.
问题越难,他回答出来的可能性就越小。
