The new research shows that high stress influences the way the brain considers the advantages and disadvantages, causing it to focus on pleasure and ignore the possible negative results of a decision.
The research suggests that stress may change the way people make choices in known ways.
"Stress influences how people learn”, says Professor Mara Mather.
For example, two recent studies looked at how people learned to connect images (影像) with either
speech and do difficult math problems in front of an audience; in the other, some were stressed by having to keep their hands in ice water. In both cases, the stressed people remembered the rewarded material more correctly and the punished material less correctly than those who hadn't gone through the stress.
This fact is likely not surprising to anyone who has tried to resist (抵制) eating cookies or smoking a cigarette while under stress-- at those moments, only the pleasure connected with such activities come to mind, but the findings further suggest that stress may bring about a double effect. Not only are rewarding experiences remembered better, but negative results are also easily recalled.
The research also finds that stress appears to influence decision-making differently in men and women. While both men and women tend to focus on rewards and less on results under stress, their responses to risk turn out to be different. Men who had been stressed by the cold-water task tended to take more risks in the experiment while women responded in the opposite way. In stressful situations in which risk-taking can pay off big, men may tend to do better. When caution (谨慎)weighs more, however, women will win.
24. What advantages do the stress bring to people when makes decisions?
A. People will react in a negative way when they are in the stress.
B. The stressed people will be influenced by the punishing results.
C. Having stress will help people connected with pleasures and rewards more.
D. Stress can resist people rarely recall the negative result.
25. How differently does make and female respond to stress?
A. The male tend to focus on more reward than the female.
B. Men can take more risks than women, which will be rewarded more.
C. In a more cautions situation, women do less better than men.
D. The male can take more stress than woman.
26. How does author organize the passage?
A. Analyzing results
B. By comparison
C. Providing evidence
D. Giving statement
C

I cheated in a unit test this morning. Afterward, I was too sick to eat lunch because it was circling
in my mind.
I came straight home from school, went upstairs to my room, and lay on the floor trying to decide whether it would be better to run away from home before or after supper. It wasn’t even an accident
that I cheated.
Yesterday Mr. Burke announced there’d be a unit test and anyone who failed would have to come to school on Saturdays, particularly me, since I didn’t pass the last unit test. I did plan to study just
to prove(证明)to him that I’m pretty smart-which I am mostly—except in math.
Anyway, I got my desk ready to study. Just when I was ready to work, Nicho came into my room with
our new rabbit and it jumped on my desk and knocked the flashcards all over the floor. What a mess! Nicho
and I finally took the rabbit outside but then Philip came to my room and also Marty from next door and before long it was dinner.
After din ner my father said I could watch a special on television if I’d done all my homework. Of course I said I had. That was the beginning. I felt terrible while telling my father a lie about the homework.
It was ten o’clock when I got up to my home and it w as too late for me to study for the unit test
so I lay in my bed with the light off and decided what I would do the next day. So, you see, the cheating
was planned after all.
Today, I went to my class as usual, acting like things were going just well. I sat down next to Stanley Plummer who is so smart in math, and from time to time, I glanced(瞥)over his paper and copied the answers.

范例展示 1
Lying on the floor, I began to think. Probably. I’d been bad all along .It just took this math unit test to bring it out. I decided that I would never tell the truth .I told my mother I was sick when she called me to come down for dinner. She didn’t believe me and instead sent my father to see what was wrong with me .A moment later, he came in and sat down on my bed. Yet, I refused to say even a word.
Just as my father shut the door of my room, I stopped him by calling “Dad”. “How come?” he asked. So I told him that I cheated in today’s math test. To tell the truth, I was pretty much surprised at myself. I didn’t plan to tell him anything. He didn’t say anything at first. And then he said I must tell Mr. Burke. “I’m not going to,” I said .He called Mr. Burke instead, and told him exactly what had happened .He told me I would take another test on Saturday. I thanked my father a lot for his
understanding me.
范例展示2
Lying on the floor, I began to think .What if my dad found what had happened to me when he came back home? I would probably never tell the truth. Then I heard a knock at the door. It was Mom who called me to come down for dinner. Not in the mood for anything, I told her I was sick. Just then, Dad came in and sat down on my bed. It really drove me crazy. Whatever he said, I just kept silent. Seeing that I had no intention of communicating with him, he got up and was about to leave.
Just as my father shut the door of my room, I stopped him by call ing “Dad”. I confessed that I cheated in the math unit test. Actually, I was greatly shocked at myself to tell the truth. He called Mr. Burke and told him exactly what had happened, even that I decided to cheat the night before the test. “Today I think I am turning into a criminal,” I told my father. He just smiled and gave me a big hug.

56.be distributed 考察动词的语态。

on a regular basis 意为“定期的”。
58.were loading 考察动词的时态和主谓一致。
当我和朋友在商店里正往购物车里装必需品时,一位绅士向我们问道。
根据下文中的“we were doing our...” 可知,此处表示过去某个时间点正在进行的动作,应用过去进行时: 句子的主语是my friend and I,是复数概念,谓语动词应用复数。
故填were loading。
