Teaching procedures
Step 1 Warming up & Revision
1. Greet the class.
2. Let’s chant.
3. Ask and answer.
Step 2 Presentation & Practice
1. Ask two Ss to talk about their weekend activities. Then lead out Did you do anything else? Yes, I …
2. Present the pictures, ask and answer with the sentence patterns What did you do last weekend/…? I cleaned my
room/…Then emphasize the new phrase drank tea.
3. Lead in I am Lily. I had a good weekend. Do you want to know my weekend? Read the dialogue and find out the answers.
4. Emphasize some useful verb phrases and lead to read.
5. Play the cassette of Let’s try. And ask Ss to circle the correct answer. And then check up for them.
6. Listen to the dialogue in Let’s talk and try to answer the questions.
A. What did Mike do last weekend?
B. What did Mike’s grandpa do last weekend?
7. Open the books, read and understand the dialogue, then take some notes and emphasize the key points.
8. Repeat and read the dialogue by themselves. And then try to recite it together.
9. Act out the dialogue in pairs or groups.

1. Make a new dialogue with the sentence patterns in pairs.
