Period 1: Section A la, lb, Ic Listening and speaking
教学分析
本节课H绕着一个话题“谈论现在正在进行或发生的动作"来展开教学活动,主要的教学内容是现在进行时。

本节课紧扣教材,而乂脱离课本,重新对教材进行编排。

先通过描绘图片中人们的活动来学习词汇:watching TV, cleaning, reading a newspaper, making soup, talking on the phoM 并通过问答"人们正在做什么"来学习句型:What are you doing ? I'm watching TV . What's she/he doing ? She/he's……等,并用同桌合作的方式进一步加强句型的操练。

然后通过听力训练和写作训练来加强练习和巩固。

我的教学设计理念:
1、遵循任务型教学的教学理念,以学生为主体,以任务为中心,在运用语言完成任务的过程中来学习,体会和掌握语言。

2、自始至终贯穿了以交际为U的的原则(在做中学,在学中用)。

3、在教学过程中,关注学生的生活实际和生活体验,树立以学生为本的思想, 提倡学生参与、体验、亲身实践、独立思考、合作探究,从而实现教学方式
和学习方式的转变。

Teaching aims and dema nds
(1)Language goals
a. be able to master some words, phrases and key sentences.
b・ learn to use some verbs to describe what people are doing and master the structure of the verb adding “ing".
(2)Ability goals
a) To arouse Ss' motivation by communicating.
b) To develop the abilities of listening and spcaking.
(3).Emotional goals
To learn to enjoy the beauty of their life. As a result, they know they should love themselves, others and life.
(4). Learning ability goals
Help the student learn how to listen to and talk about what people are doing.
Key points and difOcult points
To help the students to use some verbs to ask answer what people are doing is the key point.
How to make them to make good use of the present progressive in real life is teaching difficulty of this period-
Teaching aids and methods
Methods: Listening-talking teaching method and Task-Based
Teaching as the main teaching methods
Aids: I need a compiUer as my teaching aid to show some pictures, I also need a tape recorde匚
Teaching procedures
Step 1 Lead in
(1). Greetings.
(2). Enjoy a video “Friends" Then say “They are singing and dancing.
What are we doing now?',
Help the students to answer: We're having an English class now.
(Purpose: a. Create a situation to lead in the target language and draw
students' attention at the beginning of the class)
Then tell the students they will learn a new tense --------------------- t he present pro gressive and give some exam pies while I am doing some actions (cleaning, reading, running)
Step Two Presentation.
(1) Show some pictures to students and introduce the present progressive (structure: Be + V-ing) to them.
A: What are we doing? B: We are having English class.
B: What are you doing? B: I'm reading a book.
Pm talking on the phone
B: rm watch TV
A; What is she doing? B: She is reading.
A: What are they doing? B: They are playing soccer.
Then Ss look at other pictures and talk about these pictures in pairs or groups.
(2) I will ask some students to do the actions according to the picture I
show them. While they are doing, I ask the student(s) who is performing: "What are you doing?'
Then ask other students:''What is he/she doing?’’
Work in groups.
(Purpose: Help Ss understand what the present progressive is and learn how to use it)
Step 3 Practice
Task 1 Match work (la). Open the books. Ask Ss to match the
activities on the left with the pictures on the right a-f on page 20.
Check the answers with the students.
(To train Ss to use the pictures to learn words or phrases)
Task 2 listening (lb). I will show a picture of an apartment and tell
students there are many people living in the apartment. Do you know "what they are doing?'' Now listen to the tape and find out "What is Jenny doing? What are Dave and Mary doing? What is John doing 厂
Then Check the answers in class like this:
A; What is Jenny doing? B: He is watching TV.
A: What are Dave and Mary doing? B: They are eating dinner
A; What is John doing? B: He is doing homework.
(With listening practice, develop the Ss' ability of listening, at the same time they have gotten more target language)
Task 3 A game. First of all, students look at some words and make sentences using the present progressive.
Task 4 Complete a report.
First watch a report from a reporte匚Then imitate to give a report.
Finally complete the report
(With this task, they will have a chance to consolidate the structure “be
doing,)
Step 4 Reading and summing up
1 • Read a rhythm with the students.
2・ Sum up "how to add -ing to verbs" in class. And do some exercises.
(Purpose:① Summarize what they have leant in this class, ② Check whether Ss have really understood “be doing")
Step 5 Homework
To watch what the students are doing at 11 o'clock today. Then write a report using the present progressive. You can begin like this: Now it's 11 o^clock■ Many students are in the classroom. They are relaxing. Lily is listening to music. Molly and Amy
are dancing.
(Purpose: Check whether Ss have consolidated the present progressiveJ

Feedback
All activities go around talking about what people are doing and they are totally designed according to my students. From being interested, to learning, to expressing, the students use English more and more. Some students become active and brave. But some
are a little nervous. And they are not used to listening to and expressing in English all the time in class. They are used to using Chinese to help they learn English. Because lacking of the vocabulary, they can" get the right information from the teacher or the others. In the coming lessons, I will give them more chances to train their ability of communicating- And give them enough time to practice writing.。
