The discharge valve of the compressor is forced open when the pressure within the cylinder increases sufficiently, allowing the passage of the gas into the condenser on its final stage. The condenser consists of an arrangement of pipes through which the gas flows, submerged in comparatively cold water. or exposed to a flow of air initiated by means of a fan .
