English Composition 102Sang LichenHunterProfessor JonesSection: VFTDate: April 21, 2013Annotated BibliographyBu, ., & Fee, E. (2012, October). Family Planning and Economic Development in China. American Journal of Public Health,102(10), 1858-1859. doi: “Family Planning and Economic Development in China,”(American Journal of Public Health, October, 2012) PhD. Liping Bu and Elizabeth Fee point out that the mutual action between economy and population influences both of them. Begin with a attractive poster. The authors describe the new situation of Chinese mother and child as a pair of free birds. Under the family planning policy, the general fertility rate declined. The less population brings lots of advantages, such as health, prosperity, more welfare and socioeconomic development. The population influences the economy and also be affected by it. In the words of Bu and Fee (2012), because of market economy, many young famers migrate to cities to work. It is hard to have more children in such a competitive environment, so that rural couples voluntarily choose to have fewer children. In conclusion, the authors agree deeply that China should insist on implementing family planning policy and market economy.Chen, . (2007, October). Parent-child relationship in single-child families in China. WCPRR, 2(4), 123-127. Retrieved fromIn “Parent-child relationship in single-child families in China,”(WCPRR, October, 2007) Yixin Chen argues that as the Family Planning Policy has been carried out in China, there are some problems emerging and we need to pay much attention to these. Just like Chen (2007) writes, for four reasons causing child spoiled, treasuring, paying high expectations, excessive concerns and the emotional needs. the children who come from one-child families would get more attached and dependent than the children who have siblings. Moreover, in some serious situations, less of them can be violent or immature even getting a hypochondriac condition. By investigating the parent-child relationships, the author strongly states his point of view that we should attach importance to the mental health of parents and children in the process of child development.China’s family planning. (July 21, 2011). Illegal children will be confiscated. The Economist. Retrieved fromIn “Illegal children will be confiscated,” the author criticizes that the one-child policy is going against human-right and caused a demographic problem. There is a fact that those children who are called illegal will be packed off to orphanages. Although Chinese fertility was down, it also leads some problems. Now China becomes one of the world’s lowest “dependency ratios” country. Too few young people cause aging society. It is disturbing to think facing too many elders and too few females’problems brought by policy’s distortions how can the young men do under this generation of one-child policy.Family-planning Policy Helps Offer Better Education to Children. (October 22, 2001). Xinhua News Agency. Retrieved fromIn “Family-planning Policy Helps Offer Better Education to Children,”(Xinhua News Agency, October 22, 2001) the author writes that China’s one-child policy is helpful for China’s education, because the number of school-age children becomes lesser and lesser since this policy has been implemented. For macroscopic view, the less number of students could be helpful to ease the stress of educational system (more students and less school), preventing from too many students taking class in one room causing low efficiency and even no rooms for more children. For microcosmic view, fewer children can alleviate burdens on parents who can’t afford the spending of tuition, and save money for taking higher education. Especially in rural areas, these are far more obvious. In conclusion, the China’s family planning policy is helpful for China’s education to children and parents as well.Hudson ., & Boer . Retrieved fromIn “China's Security, China's Demographics: Aging, Masculinization, and Fertility Policy,”(The Brown Journal of World Affairs, Spring 2008) Valerie M. Hudson and Andrea den Boer intensively criticize the China’s family planning policy by analyzing the cost of it. In the words of authors, the one-child policy indeed helped to control the China’s population to an acceptable level, but, by the time, it also brings the social instability and security risks, such as masculinized sex ratios (gender imbalance) and aging society. The authors point out several serious problems which are caused by the aging and masculinization to prove that the one-child policy needs change. They also provide the supposition that if the Chinese were to move towards a two-child policy, the condition would be better. In sum, the authors are in their effort to persuade the audiences to believe this policy has posed a threat to China.Second child or not when one-child policy relaxes. (November 28, 2011).CNTV. Retrieved formIn “Second child or not when one-child policy relaxes,” the author writes that presently some cities in China have relaxed the one-child policy, and facing this chance, many young couples hesitate to have more than one child. Because of the high living cost, raising more children proves to be stressful and difficult. Another reason given by an senior citizen is that “Young parent nowadays think too much of themselves, they just don’t want to shoulder more responsibilities.”(Para. 6) But facing the problem of aging population, more and more eligible young couples will consider having a second child. For the new policy, people still need some other supporting policy to share the burden of rearing children.Zhang, H. (2012, May). One-child Policy is Harming China. The Economic Observer, (568). Retrieved fromIn “One-child Policy is Harming China,”(The Economic Observer, May, 2012) Hong Zhang claims that China’s one-child policy should be loosened and even abolished. Providing some facts and statistics, the author points out that the Chinese family planning is injustice and violating the human right. Firstly, Zhang shows us many problems which were caused by this policy, such as aging population, unbalanced gender ratio and the lag between this policy and socio-economic impact. And another serious problem is that the policy has caused a huge bureaucratic system. In his words, there are still some wealthy people at large by some evil ways. This is a big bug of the policy and we have no idea to solve it. In sum, basing on many social issues, the author declares that one-child policy is harming China.Zhao, H. X. (2013, March 11). China to maintain family planning policy. China Daily. Retrieved from “China to maintain family planning policy,” (China Daily, March 11, 2013) Huanxin Zhao, writes that China will continue the family planning policy although the government is planning to restructure the ministries. Today we still face lots of social issues like resource and population pressures, so family planning policy is still important for China. As the new government publishes the restructure plan, the implementation of family planning policy will be strengthened. The one-child policy is still important for China.Zhu, C. (2011). China’s Savings and Current Account Balance: A Demographic Transition Perspective. Modern Economy, 2, 804-813. doi: “China’s Savings and Current Account Balance: A DemographicTransition,”Chao Zhu argues that China’s family planning policy should be maintained by analyzing the demographic structure, dependency ratios and China’s savings rate. Basing on some empirical findings and statistics, he points out that the dependency ratios have declined and then will increase to a peak, but finally will decrease to a low level. This is the trend and relax the policy will not change the fact. But on the contrast, if we maintain the policy, the population will goes to a desired level. He also points out that the problems we facing this moment is interim. In the long run, the family planning policy is good for China. So it is good that China should maintain this policy and Chinese people should not be too worried about that.。
Should We Abolish the One-child policy
Should We Abolish the One-Child Policy? In order to control the national population, the one-child policy has been carried out for a long time in China. It is undeniable that it has achieved good effects. But now, some people think that it should be abolished. However, it brings some social problem. For example, it makes the aging population more serious. In one word, like a double-edged sword, this policy has inevitably triggered several problems for children and parents, as well as the whole society. Therefore, they think it's time for China to cancel this policy gradually.Whileon the other side, some people don’t think so. As we all know, China’s population is the largest in the world. On addition, it is still increasing. As a result of abolishing the one-child policy, China’s population would be larger and larger. And it will the whole country’s pressure. In my opinion,China's population has been controlled after years of implementation of the policy. And most people have realized the importance of birth control for a better life. In brief, we can conclude that the one-child policy is inappropriate to modern China's situation, and it has already had many negative effects on the children's growth. So it's really the high time for us to take a second look at the policy.。

孩子们应该在家庭决策中有发言权英语作文全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1Should Kids Have a Say in Family Decisions?Hey there! My name is Jamie, and I'm 10 years old. Today, I want to talk to you about something that's really important to me and a lot of other kids out there – having a voice in our families' decisions. You see, grown-ups often think that kids are too young or too naive to understand what's going on in the family. They make all the big choices without even asking us what we think. But you know what? That's just not fair! We might be little, but we're not dumb. We have thoughts and feelings too, and we should be allowed to share them.Think about it this way: when your parents decide to move to a new city, that affects us kids just as much as it affects them. We have to leave our schools, our friends, and everything we know behind. Shouldn't we get a say in whether or not we want to make such a huge change?Or what about when your family is planning a vacation? Adults always seem to pick the destinations and activities based on what they want to do. But what if we kids would rather go to a theme park instead of a boring museum? If we're the ones who are supposed to be having fun, why don't our opinions matter?I know what you're thinking: "But Jamie, you're just a kid. You don't know what's best for the family." Well, let me tell you something – we kids are a lot smarter and more observant than you might think. We see and hear things that adults often miss, and we have our own unique perspectives on the world. For example, maybe your parents are fighting a lot, and you can sense the tension in the house. As a kid, you might have some really valuable insights into what's going on and how it's affecting you emotionally. Wouldn't it be better for your parents to listen to your thoughts and feelings, instead of just assuming everything is okay?Or let's say your family is struggling with money problems. You might have some great ideas for saving money or earning extra cash that your parents never would have thought of. Kids can be really creative and resourceful when they put their minds to it!I know what else you're thinking: "But Jamie, if we let kids have a say, they'll just want to eat ice cream for every meal and stay up all night playing video games!" Well, sure, we might make some silly suggestions sometimes. But that's why it's important for parents to guide us and explain their reasoning. If we kids understand why certain decisions are being made, we're more likely to accept them and cooperate. It's all about open communication and mutual respect.Think about it this way: when you grow up and have kids of your own someday, wouldn't you want them to feel like their voices are heard and their opinions are valued? Wouldn't you want to raise them to be confident, independent thinkers who aren't afraid to speak their minds? That's why it's so important to start involving kids in family decisions from a young age. It teaches us valuable life skills like critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication. And who knows? We might just surprise you with our insightful ideas and unique perspectives. So, the next time your family is facing a big decision, why not gather everyone together and have an open discussion? Let each person share their thoughts and feelings, and really listen to what everyone has to say – including us kids. You might be amazed at how much we can contribute when we're given the chance. And even if we don't always agree with the final decision, at least we'll feel like we were part of the process and that our voices mattered. At the end of the day, that's all we really want – to be heard, to be respected, and to know that our opinions count, even if we're still just kids. Because you know what? We might be small, but we're mighty, and we have a lot to offer our families if you'll just give us a chance. So, what do you say, grown-ups? Are you ready to let us kids have a seat at the table and a voice in the decisions that affect our lives? We're ready and waiting!篇2Should Kids Have a Say in Family Choices? You know how it goes - mom and dad make all the big decisions for the family without ever asking what we kids think. Where we go on vacation, what car we get, even what's for dinner - it's like our opinions don't matter at all. But I think that's wrong. Kids may be small, but we're still part of the family too. We should get a voice when it comes to family decisions that affect us.Think about it - we're the ones who have to live with those choices. Like when my parents decided to move us to a new town last year. They picked the house and the neighborhood without me getting any say. Sure, the new place has a bigger backyard. But now I'm further away from my best friends and had to start over at a new school where I didn't know anybody. If they'd asked me, I could have told them how important my friends were and maybe we could have found a compromise location.Or what about family vacations? My parents always plan those out themselves based on what they want to do and see. But kids have different ideas of what makes a fun trip. All the historical museums and fancy restaurants they pick are just boring to me. I'd way rather go camping, ride rollercoasters, see the biggest ball of twine - things like that! Shouldn't my idea of a good time count for something on a family vacation?Food is another area where kids get no choice. It's always "eat whatevery healthy dish mom made tonight or go hungry." How aboutwe take turns picking the menu sometimes? Maybe I'd actually eat more than chicken nuggets if I got to have a say. You know us kids best - we just want pizza, tacos, spaghetti and other tasty stuff. Is that so bad?Bigger purchases are the same way. Our cars, TVs, furniture and stuff like that get picked out by just mom and dad. But don't you think we should have input on things we'll be using and looking at every day too? Like when we got that new scratchy couch that's so uncomfortable. If they'd asked me, I could have steered them away from that one. Kids may have simple tastes, but we know what we like.I'm not saying parents should just do whatever we want. They're the grown-ups, so of course they have to make sure we eat right, get to school and do our chores. All I'm asking is that they listen to us more when making family decisions that affect our daily lives. We may be little, but our thoughts and feelings matter too.Plus, getting a voice in decisions will make us kids feel more respected and heard. It shows our parents actually value our opinions, not just dismiss them because we're young. That's got to be good for building confidence and self-esteem as we get older. It's a life lesson in having a say over your own life. It could bring families closer together too when everyone gets input. So please parents, the next time there's a big family choice to make, take a minute to ask your kids what they think. Youmight be surprised to hear we have some pretty great ideas! We don't need total control or anything, but at least let us voice our views. Making decisions as a team with mom, dad and the kids all getting a vote - now there's a thought. It's our family too, so why shouldn't we all have a say?篇3Should Kids Get a Say in Family Choices?Hi there! My name is Jamie, and I'm a 10-year-old kid who loves soccer, reading comics, and eating pizza. Today, I want to talk about something really important – whether kids like me should get to have a voice when our families make big decisions.I know what you're thinking, "Kids? Making choices for the whole family? That's crazy talk!" But hear me out, because I think we kids have a lot of good ideas that grown-ups sometimes miss.Think about it this way – we're the ones who have to live with a lot of the decisions our parents make, like where we go to school, what activities we do after class, or even where we live. If we don't like the choices, we can get really unhappy and feel like no one understands us. That's no fun for anyone! For example, my best friend Tommy's parents decided to move to a new neighborhood last year without even asking him. He had to leave all his friends behind and start over at a brand new school. Tommy was so upset that he stopped trying hard in class and got in trouble a few times. If his parents had listened to how much Tommy loved his old school and neighborhood, maybe they could have tried to find a place nearby instead.Or take my sister Sarah. She's really artistic, but our parents signed her up for soccer lessons after school because they thought team sports were important. Sarah hated soccer and spent the whole season moping around and complaining. Looking back, they probably should have asked her opinion first instead of just deciding on their own. That's not to say parents shouldn't be the ones making the ultimate decisions, of course. They're the grown-ups, they know more than us kids, and they have good reasons for a lot of the choices they make. But I really think they should listen to our thoughts and feelings too before they decide stuff that affects our whole lives so much.If parents take our opinions seriously and explain their thinking to us, things could be so much better. We'd understand why certain decisions get made, even if we don't fully agree. Andparents might learn some interesting perspectives from us kids that could even change their minds sometimes! It's a win-win.Like when my family was deciding where to go on vacation this summer. My dad wanted to go camping because it's cheap and outdoorsy. But my mom was pushing for a beach vacation to relax. I could tell my parents were getting frustrated, going back-and-forth without agreeing. That's when I piped up and suggested we look into getting a cabin by a lake. That way, my dad could go hiking and fishing like he loves, my mom could sunbathe and read books in peace, and my sister and I could swim and build sandcastles. Plus, it's still cheaper than a fancy beach resort. My folks thought it was a brilliant compromise that made everybody happy!See what I mean? By including the kid perspective, we were able to find an awesome solution that might not have occurred to my parents on their own. If nothing else, we should get a say on stuff like vacations and fun activities since those are mainly for us anyway, right? But it's not just about fun stuff. Kids deserve input on the big, serious decisions too. If parents are looking at a new job opportunity that could mean moving across the country, we need to be able to share how we'd feel about leaving our friends, schools, and everything familiar behind. Our feelings are important and should be considered, even if the adults make the final call.Or what if parents are thinking about getting divorced? That's a huge life change for kids, one that could upset our whole world. We should absolutely get a chance to talk about our concerns, fears, and questions before any choice gets finalized. Maybe our perspectives could even help parents work through problems and avoid a permanent split if possible. Either way, being heard and understood will help kids deal with that massive life transition.I'm not saying kids should be equal decision-makers or get veto power over whatever our parents decide. We're still young, after all, with lots to learn about life. But treating children's viewpoints as worthless or unimportant isn't fair or healthy either. We may be small, but we have big thoughts, opinions, and emotions that matter just as much as grown-ups'.So parents, please remember to really listen to your kids, not just with your ears, but with your hearts. Make an effort to understand how we feel about the decisions that impact our lives so much. You might be surprised by how wise and insightful wecan be! And who knows, we could even come up with fantastic compromise ideas you never considered.Giving kids like me a voice and a valued role in family choices shows that you respect us. It builds trust, communication, and strong bonds between parents and children. It teaches us that our thoughts and feelings matter. And at the end of the day, isn't creating a loving, understanding family what parenting is all about? Those are just my thoughts as a 10-year-old kid, but I hope you'll keep them in mind. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go practice my soccer drills so I can play my best at this weekend's big game. Thanks for listening!篇4Should Kids Have a Voice in Family Decisions?Hi there! My name is Jamie and I'm 10 years old. Today I want to talk to you about something really important - whether kids like me should get to have a say when our families make big decisions that affect us.I think we should, and let me tell you why! After all, we kids are part of the family too. The choices our parents make don'tjust impact them, but us children as well. So doesn't it make sense that we get some input?Take something like deciding where to go for a family vacation for example. My parents might think a week at the beach sounds perfect – lounging in the sun, swimming, building sandcastles. But to me, that sounds kind of boring! I'd way rather go somewhere with an awesome theme park or waterpark. That's my idea of a fun vacation. If they make that decision without listening to what I want, I could end up spending a whole week feeling bored and disappointed.Or what about something bigger, like deciding to move to a new city or state? That's a huge decision that will completely change my whole life – my school, my friends, my neighborhood, everything! Don't you think kids should have some say in that before our parents just go ahead and uproot us? We're the ones who will be most affected day-to-day.Sometimes parents don't realize how the choices they make can make us kids feel. Like when they sign us up for a bunch of after-school activities without asking first. I get that they want us to be well-rounded and have varied experiences. But what if those activities aren't things we're actually interested in? Doesn'tit make more sense to at least get our opinion before committing us to something we may not even enjoy? It's not like we're asking to be able to make all the decisions ourselves. We understand that's not how it works. We just want our parents to truly hear us out and value our thoughts and opinions, especially on stuff that impacts our daily life. Is that really so much to ask?If parents make a habit of ignoring what their kids want, it can really hurt our self-esteem and make us feel unimportant or like we don't matter. But when they make an effort to listen to us, it shows that they respect us. It helps build our confidence and lets us know that our parents see us as individuals whose perspectives are valuable. Those are good lessons for kids to learn! From personal experience, I can tell you it's really frustrating when my mom and dad make a decision that affects me in a big way without even asking how I feel about it first. Like the time they decided to get a puppy without consulting me or my brother at all. Now, I like puppies as much as the next kid. But a puppy is a huge responsibility that requires a lot of work and time commitments from everyone in the household. If they had talked to us first, we could have voiced concerns about whetherwe were ready for that and came up with a plan together. Instead, we were just thrown into puppy life one day without any warning!I'm not saying parents always have to do what we want. Like I said, they're the grown-ups and sometimes they'll decide something we disagree with for good reason. But at least having the conversation shows they care about our opinion. We may not always get our way, but we'll understand a lot better why the decision was made. And who knows – our perspective might actually influence the final choice in a way that leads to a better outcome for everyone!Getting kids involved in decisions also teaches us really important life skills. We learn how to look at things from multiple angles, voice our thoughts respectfully, and consider other viewpoints. Those are talents we need to become responsible adults one day. Why not start practicing them now under our parents' guidance? So in conclusion, I really think kids ought to have more of a voice when it comes to family decisions, big or small. We're just as affected by them as our parents, and we can offer a unique point of view. It's not about simply doing what we want, but opening the lines of communication so we feel heard andunderstood. That's something all kids need and deserve from their families.Giving kids a say doesn't make us adults – it just means treating us with respect and making us feel valued. And what could be better than that? Food for thought, right parents? Thanks for listening! I'll let you get back to your grown-up decisions now. Just don't forget to loop the kids in too, okay?篇5Yes, I can write an essay on "Children Should Have a Say in Family Decisions" from a primary school student's perspective. The essay will be approximately 2000 words in English.Children Should Have a Say in Family DecisionsHi there! My name is Emma, and I'm a 10-year-old girl in the 5th grade. Today, I want to talk to you about why I think children should have a say in important family decisions. You might be thinking, "Why should kids have a say in grown-up decisions? They're just kids!" But let me tell you, us kids have a lot of great ideas and opinions too! We may be small, but we have big brains and big imaginations.Think about it this way: when our parents make decisions that affect us, like where we live, what school we go to, or what activities we do, those decisions have a huge impact on our lives. Shouldn't we at least get to share our thoughts and feelings about it?For example, my family recently had to decide whether to move to a new city because of my dad's job. My parents were talking about the pros and cons, like the cost of living, the quality of schools, and how far the commute would be. But they didn't really ask me and my little brother how we felt about leaving our friends, our school, and our neighborhood. If they had asked us, we could have told them how much we love our current school and how sad we would be to leave our best friends. We could have shared our worries about making new friends and adjusting to a new place. Maybe our opinions wouldn't have changed their decision, but at least they would have understood how we felt and could have tried to make the transition easier for us.Another time, my parents were trying to decide what kind of family vacation we should take. They were debating between going to the beach or going to a theme park. If they had asked me and my brother, we could have told them that we reallywanted to go to the theme park because we love roller coasters and rides. Instead, they just assumed we would prefer the beach, and we ended up having a pretty boring vacation because we didn't really like swimming or lying in the sun all day.I know that parents have to make a lot of tough decisions, and they can't always do what their kids want. But I think it's important for them to at least listen to our opinions and understand how their decisions will affect us. We might be kids, but we're part of the family too, and we deserve to have our voices heard.Plus, when parents involve their kids in decision-making, it can teach us valuable life skills. We learn how to think critically, weigh pros and cons, and express our thoughts clearly. We also learn that our opinions matter and that our parents respect us enough to listen to us.I know some parents might worry that giving kids too much say will lead to chaos and arguments. But if parents set clear boundaries and make it clear that they have the final say, I think it can actually bring families closer together. When kids feel heard and respected, we're more likely to cooperate and understand our parents' decisions, even if we don't always agree with them. So, grown-ups, please remember: us kids may be small, but we have big ideas and big feelings too. We deserve to have our voices heard, especially when it comes to decisions that affect our lives. Who knows, we might just surprise you with our wisdom and creativity! That's my opinion, but I'd love to hear what you think too. Do you agree that kids should have a say in family decisions? Or do you think parents should just make the decisions themselves? Let me know in the comments!篇6Should Kids Have a Say in Family Decisions? You bet we should! Why do grown-ups always think they know what's best for kids? Sure, they're older and have more experience. But we're the ones who have to live with their decisions, so shouldn't we get some input too?I'm only 10 years old, but I'm not a little baby anymore. I understand way more than my parents give me credit for. When they make decisions that affect my life without even asking me, it's really frustrating. Don't they care what I think or want?Like when we went on vacation last summer. My folks decided to go camping for a whole week! I hate camping - the bugs, the smelly outhouse, sleeping on the ground. It's my worst nightmare. But did they even consider that I might want to stay in a hotel with a pool? Nope, not one bit. I had to suffer through that miserable trip just because they thought roughing it would "build character" or something. Then there was the time they got a new puppy without discussing it with me first. I'm the one who has to help take care of it and pick up its poop! You'd think I'd at least get a vote on whether we get a new pet. But no, Mom and Dad just sprang it on me one day. I love the little guy now, but I was really mad at first that they didn't even run it by me.It's not like I'm asking to make all the decisions myself. I know I'm still a kid and my parents are the adults. But at least hear me out sometimes! Whenever we're deciding on something that's going to change my life, they should let me voice my opinion. Maybe if they listened to what I want more often, I wouldn't put up such a fight.I may be young, but I'm not an idiot. I can think for myself and I know what I like and don't like. When my parents makechoices for me without any input, it feels like they don't respect me as a person. It's their way or the highway. How is that fair?If they took me seriously once in a while, we'd get along so much better. I'd be way more cooperative if I felt like I had at least a little say. Of course, I'd never get to call all the shots - I get that my folks are the parents and they're looking out for me. But they should consider my thoughts and feelings too.For example, when we were talking about maybe moving to a new neighborhood, I wished they had asked me. Our house now is just a few blocks from my best friend Jack and my favorite park. If we moved, I'd have to leave that all behind. As a kid, your neighborhood is your whole world. But my parents didn't think about that. All they cared about was being closer to Dad's job and findingmore affordable housing. Valid points for sure, but they matter a lot less to me than being ripped apart from my friends and the only place I've ever known. If they'd consulted me, I could have voiced that perspective and maybe we could have found a compromise.Or what about after my baby sister was born? Suddenly, the whole household revolved around her. My parents didn't stop to think how that might make me, the previously only child, feel. Maybe if they had warned me and gotten my take beforehand, Iwouldn't have acted out so much trying to get their attention. Kids can be selfish, but we're also smarter and more understanding than grown-ups realize.I'm not saying kids should be able to do whatever we want. We definitely still need rules and boundaries. My parents wouldn't be doing their job if they just let me eat ice cream for dinner every night or stay up until 3am playing video games. You have to draw the line somewhere. But there's a middle ground between letting kids call all the shots and making every single decision for them without any input.Treating kids like we're invisible or our thoughts/feelings don't matter is really hurtful. We may be young, but we're still human beings. When you shut us out completely and impose your will on every aspect of our lives, it's incredibly frustrating and makes us resent you. We'll just be way more willing to listen and follow the rules if we feel heard and respected. So come on, parents! Sure, we're the children, but we're not dumb. We're smart enough to weigh in on stuff that affects us. You get to make the ultimate call, but let us give our two cents first. Stop talking about us like we're not there, and start talking TO us. Ask our opinion and be open to compromise when itmakes sense. It'll make all our lives so much easier if you give kids a say.。
独生子女英语作文
独生子女英语作文Title: The One Child Policy in China。
The one-child policy, implemented in China in 1979, has been a subject of both praise and criticism. As the only child in my family, I have experienced firsthand theeffects of this policy. In this essay, I will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of being an only child, as well as the impact of the one-child policy on Chinese society.Firstly, being the only child in the family has its advantages. One of the most significant benefits is the undivided attention and resources that parents can provide. As the sole focus of their attention, I received all the love, care, and support from my parents. This undivided attention allowed me to excel in my studies and pursue my interests with full support from my family. Moreover, being an only child often leads to closerrelationships with parents. Since there are no siblings to share their affection, parents tend to be more emotionally invested in their only child. As a result, I have developed a strong bond with my parents, and we share a close and trusting relationship.Another advantage of being an only child is thefinancial stability it provides. With only one child to support, my parents were able to provide me with a comfortable life, including a good education, extracurricular activities, and travel experiences. This financial stability has allowed me to pursue my dreams and ambitions without worrying about financial constraints. However, being an only child also has its disadvantages. One of the most significant drawbacks is the lack ofsiblings to share experiences and memories with. While I have a close relationship with my parents, I sometimes feel lonely and wish I had a sibling to share my life with. Siblings can provide emotional support, companionship, anda sense of belonging that is difficult to replicate with parents alone.Furthermore, being an only child can lead to increased pressure and expectations from parents. Since I am their only child, my parents have high expectations for my academic and career achievements. While their expectations have motivated me to work hard and succeed, they have also put a significant amount of pressure on me to excel in everything I do.In addition to the individual experiences of being an only child, the one-child policy has had a significant impact on Chinese society as a whole. One of the most notable effects of the policy is the demographic imbalance caused by the preference for male children. Due to traditional cultural values and the one-child policy, many families preferred to have a son rather than a daughter. As a result, there is now a significant gender imbalance in China, with a surplus of males. Moreover, the one-child policy has led to a rapidly aging population and a shrinking workforce. With fewer young people to support the growing elderly population,China is facing significant challenges in providing healthcare, pensions, and social services for its aging population. In conclusion, the one-child policy has had both positive and negative effects on Chinese society. While being an only child has its advantages, such as undivided attention from parents and financial stability, it also has its drawbacks, such as loneliness and increased pressure from parents. Additionally, the one-child policy has led to significant demographic imbalances and challenges for Chinese society as a whole. Despite these challenges, the one-child policy was recently abolished, allowing Chinese families to have more than one child. Only time will tell what the long-term effects of this policy reversal will be.。

华农外教期末考试题目(附参考解答)
1.Do you think we should worry about the environment?I think we should not worry too much about the environment, but we are supposed to care about it. It just like our body, we care about our health, many people will run every evening, they go to the gym to become fit and strong, they eat vegetable and fruit for health, andthe problem of environment is big and complex, it contains many aspects, but it’s also small and simple, because it just like the body of every one of us, as long as we care about the environment like we care about our health, we pay more attention to it, do something every day, like use less one-off items, don’t litter the battery and so on. We all know how to do, and we just need more attention, it’s not about worry, but about love and care2.What causes poverty? For a person, I think the reason is they are lazy, they can’t insist on what they want, and they are coward, when the opportunity comes, they always sit in there and wait, but did not try to seize it, which lead to the absence of their ability, the poverty in mind result in the poverty in economy. For the whole society or a country, I think the reason is complex, and some are historical reason, take China for example, before China’s founding, the world war and anti-Japanese war make China lost many people and money, and after China’s founding, the cultural revolution make China’ economy go backwards at least 20 years. Also the lack of welfare and education is important reason, without the welfare, the poor guys lose the life guarantee, and many poor children don’t have a equal opportunity to receive education, and it becomes a bad cycle, and make the poverty more serious.3.Do you think women are discriminated against? To some extent, yes. Take China for example, many parents prefer to have a boy but not girl, because they think a married daughter is just like water has been poured and she doesn’t belongs to her parents any more. And during work, some company will discriminate the pregnant women,They might miss the opportunity or be replaced for they gave birth to a child and have a holiday. And sexual harassment is also a discrimination, it’s a disrespect to them. But I think maybe these thing still happen but our awareness are changing andman y people are working hard for it, like Emma Watson’s speech called “HeForS he”, and everything is getting better.4.What do you think about the one child policy? In my opinion, Itotally support this policy. Maybe giving birth to a child is a right to the parents, but considering the China nation condition, currently there are 1.4 billion people in China, and if the country don’t control the growth of population, it will become horrible and bring the environment more pressure, the problem of society will be amplified, food and other resource will be limited, so I think the one child policy is indispensable for now, but it’s just a temporary policy, along with social development, the policy will be change.5.Are illegal drugs a problem in China?Yes.the problem is st ill serious. And it’s still serious, one of the reason is that China neighbor the Golden Triangle, which is main opium producing area in the world, so many illegal drugs will flow into China. Furthermore, it’s new thing for youth and attract them, once they take drugs, it’s really hard for them to get rid of. Recently some news is also reported that some stars took drugs and caught like Jackie Chen’s son. And the benefit of selling drugs is attractive, making them a millionaire for just several month, so many people prefer to take that risk to sell drug and it’s hard ban thoroughly. So it’s still a serious problem for China.6.What can we do about pollution?About the pollution, there are still many things we can do. About 4 years ago, the classification garbage can was set on the street and in the school In China. But for now, these garbage can has lost its function it supposed to be. Classification is just a simple behavior, but it can recycle about 30% garbage, it’s what we can do. Somebody think that the pollution mainly cause by industry, but actually, according to a report, the Domestic pollution account for about 59% of total amount of pollution. So saving water and food, avoid using the one-off items to reduce waste is also important for environment. And talking about industry, we can also do something, when we find some factories discharge the polluted water or harmful gas, we can make a call to report to relevant department, it’s simple, but it’s effective.7.Should the government help poor people?Of course yes. Because I think many people become wealthy doesn’t mean the society do so, only when the poor people have more money to keep their life, our society can become prosperous. Besides, gap between wealthy and poor is still serious, which will cause the dissatisfaction of poor people and harm to social stability. So considering the social harmony, the government are supposed to help poor people.8.Should rich people help poor people?Yes. In my opinion, whether China or the west, helping each other is advocated. it’s a moral excellence. And obviously, the rich people have more money and influence power, they have more capacity to help the poor guys, they can use their money and power to create more chance for poor people. and maybe it’s al so a social responsibility for them, they become rich not only for their hard work but also depend on the whole society, so they are supposed to take that responsibility in return. So I think the rich people should help the poor people.9.Why are there so many wars?I think some wars happen because of the religion, but it’s very few, the most radical, important reason of war is the conflict of interest. There areno permanent friend between two countries but permanent interests. So countries need to warring to grab interests or protect interests. Take the war in Iraq as example, why the America pay a heavy price to attack Iraq, they said it’s for anti-terrorism, but maybe oil reserves in Iraq is the more important reason, so as long as the interests exist, it’s hard to stop the war.10.Should rich countries help poor ones?Yes. In my opinion, the rich countries do need to offer some help to the poor ones. To some extent, rich countries should take that international responsibility, they are not only help the country but also help millions of poor people, it’s humanitarianism. But as an old saying goes,a country does not have permanent friends, only permanent interests. And the help is helpful for two countries to build a closer relationship, which is also a chance for the rich countries to develop its foreigntrade. And this relationship also create more communication between two countries and make the common prosperity.11.What do you think about the death penalty for serious crimes? In my opinion, death penalty should be abolished because I think the penalty was to stop the crime and reduce the similar crime as a warn, so putting in prison is enough for these purpose. And death penalty is to kill a people, no matter he is criminal or normal person, life is precious and nobody can take one person’s life, and it’s also a crime too. besides, it’s hard to avoid that the court will also has the wrong judgement and some people are wronged, once the death penalty was executed, it can’t be redeem any more. So I totally hope to the death penalty can be abolished.12.What do you think about beggars? In my opinion, if the beggar has the ability to earn his life, he should not to choose to beg to earn his living. And people are not supposed to give them money because it won’t really help them but make them rely more on people’s giving. But if the beggar can’t earn his living by his own for he is disabled or too old to work, I will give money to them, and I will feel pity for them and feel sad for our country because it mean the country still lack the guarantee for people’s fundamental life, which force them to beg, so in this respect, if we hope the beggar would lessen, the country need to do more.。
The Debate
The Debate: On the One-Child Policy1. Argumentation:My opinion: The one-child policy should be abolished.China is a great country with the largest population in the world. In order to reduce the huge pressure that too fast growth of the population brings to the social development, our country has implemented the one-child policy since 1979, which has slowed down the growth of population in some way. However, I still think the one-child policy should be abolished because it causes a lot of adverse effects.2.Argument/Evidence:(1)The one-child policy causes bad effects on young generation’smental health and their growing up.(2)Losing the only one child brings serious blow to parents’ spiritsand great economic lose to the family.(3)The implementation of one-child policy makes the parents, children and society under huge pressure.3. The process of argumentation:(1) The one-child policy means every family just has one child. If a child doesn’t have any brothers and sisters to accompany them to play or study during the process of growth, the can easily feel lonely, which is bad for their mental health. On the other hand, many parents regard their only one child as the apple of their eyes and spoil their children double times, they try their best to meet all the requirements of their children and clean the obstacles for their future. But at the same time, they neglect to educate their children to improve the ability of living independently and communicating with others. As a result, many children are indifferent and selfish, they have strong self-center consciousness and dependent consciousness but fragile psychological enduring capacity. All these are bad for young generation’s healthy growing up.(2)Once the one-child family suffers from the accidental disability, serious illness and death, the results not only cause great economic lose to the family, but also bring the serious blow to parents’ spirits. According to statistics, there are millions of parents who have lost their only one child in our country and most of them are old and frail, there are no person can take care of them and their life has got into trouble. What they only can do is missing their children in the loneliness and pain.(3)The implementation of one-child policy makes the parents, children and society under huge pressure. Parents give the high expectations to their children and they also meet the risk of losing their only one child. With the development of aging of population, the burden of children to support the elderly is aggravating. It is reported that in 2025, every child has to support about seven old people’s life. Apart from these, the one-child policy reduces the rapid growth of population, but in the future, our country will meet the shortage of labors, which is bad for the economic development.4. Summary:All mentioned above tells us that the one-one child policy can relieve the population problems to some extent, but is bad for Chinese long-term development. Luckily, our country has realized it and tried to relax its decades-long one-child policy and in the future, couples will be allowed to have two children if one of the parents is an only child. I hope that one day the policy will be abolished completely so that our country can develop better.。

In order to solve the population problem, the government carried out one-child policy (政策) before. However, for some time, many people see not only its advantages but also disadvantages. From 2016, two-child policy is put into effect. In my opinion two-child policy is the present for the only child. The only child in the family is always lonely. For some families, maybe the parents are the only child and they can also haveonly one child. When their child grows up and they grow older, and their child marries an only child girl, the burden (负担) on their child and his wife will be too heavy. Their child and his wife will have to take care of two couples. Usually, a young couple looking after an old couple is a little difficult. But their parents have two children, they can share the burden of taking care of their parents. It would be much better. At the same time two-child policy can guarantee (保证) the number of Chinese population. All in all, one-child policy has been out of date. And two-child policy is needed and necessary. We should abolish the one-child policy in China

以及:This is a persuasive speechWe should abolish the one-child policy in ChinaGood morning, ladies and gentlemenBefore my speech, I want you all to answer me a question. How many of you are the only child in your family? If you are, please raise your hand.Ok, thanks. Most of us are the only child in our family. When mentioned about only child, many people naturally would regard them as much too dependent, spoiled, selfish and timid, or what we call “problem youth”. Have you ever thought of why this phenomenon happens?Apparently, it is caused by the one-child policy. The problems and drawbacks caused by this policy are highlighting. Therefore, from my perspective, it’s time to abolish the one-child policy in China.First of all, the one-child policy was made under the condition that the Chinese population’s growth was over rapid and many families even couldn’t afford fostering more than one child. In order to improve people’s life quality, the one-child proposal was therefore approved by national people’s congress and became a national policy. However, the condition of china is changing greatly over the past 30 years. Nowadays, many young couples prefer to have fewer children, and some may even prefer to be Dinks. Therefore the pressure of heavy population is much relieved. Another thing to concern about is the shortage of labor force and the aging of population. When the one-child policy brings down the birth rate, in the meanwhile it leads to the drop of young population in the proportion, the rise of elderly population and the slowdown of the working age population growth. And according to UN’s forecast, by 2030, the age of the Chinese population structure will tend to be that the elderly population is more than the youth population, which just like the upside of pyramid shape.Third, the imbalance between male and female population. In many regions of China, people value boys over girls due to some ignorant thoughts. One-child policy makes some people try to acquire boys by means of abortion and so on, which leads to the birth rate of boys higher than girls. At present the rate of men to women is 120 to 100, which means there will be over five million bachelors in china. Of course if they are still interested in girls.Admittedly this policy has brought some benefits to china’s development, but it’s quite superficial to continue this policy without looking at the current situation. Therefore it’s time to abolish the one-child policy now. That’s all of my speech, thanks for listening.。
One Child Policy Should Be Abolished
One Child Policy Should Be AbolishedThe One Couple One Child Policy in China is a policy that the Chinese government introduced in 1979 to try and solve the problem of overpopulation. It’s main purpose was to make sure that China could support its large population with facilities such as healthcare, education, housing, good jobs and most importantly, food and so on.Of course it has got great achievements in china; however, with the development of society, the issue of Family Planning Policy is becoming a matter of concern. Every year in National People’s Congress, it always causes a fierce argument. Views on the issue in question vary from person to person. Someone maintain that One Couple One Child Policy should not be abolished, but others do not think so. It’s no denying that One Child Policy is succeeded in preventing the increasing growing of the population in the short run, however, I can hardly share t he viewpoint. Personally, One Couple One Child Policy should be abolished. For the parents, there are many uncertain factors in their life if they only have one child. Of course fewer children, less burden, however, greater pressure in psychological. First of all, the parents concentrate on all their minds to their child; they treat their child as an apple in their hands and they always try their best to give their child what they can give. Someone even spoil their child. Therefore, the only child is also a little emperor in his/her home. Once there is something wrong with their only child, their life will be destroyed. According to a research from World Health Organization, because of different accidents and disease, there are more than 2 600 000 people die young every year. How terrible the situation is! Once such a fatal situation happens in an only—child family, how the parents live on. For instance, after the earthquake in Wen Chuan in 2008, many parents cast down in spirit, even some suffer mental disease. Even though their child grows healthily, they will feel lonely when their child is busy in working and has little time to accompany them. That is to say, they can not spend their remaining years happily. However, if the parents havemore than one child, the consequences will be totally different. Therefore, the One Child Policy should be abolished. For the only child, the policy is unfair. On the one hand, one-child policy is bad for the growth of a child. Every family owns only one child, which makes the child become too important for the family; Children are becoming far too spoilt! Parents are treating their only children like royalty, and obese, demanding boys are being seen far too often now. It will breed the child’s dependence and problem solving ability and so on when they reach their teens. Meanwhile, only child has no brother or sister, and he/she can not understand brotherhood/sisterhood, to some degree, they will be selfish and do not understand share and care; what is worse, with brother or sister’s accompany, the child will feel lonely, especially when his/her parents are out, this will cause some mental illness, such as infantile autism. On the other hand, the burden of the young people will become heavier and heavier. On the average, one child has to support four old people in future. By the year 2025, the percentage of over 65s in China could reach 30%. Fewer young people support much more old people, the welfare of old people will be a considerable challenge. Facing such terrible situation, how can they enjoy their lives? Therefore, the One Child Policy should be abolished.Furthermore, for the society, China’s One Child policy also has some negative problem. It has ultimately done what it sets out to do. However, it cannot be hailed a success as there have also been some serious consequences including a rise in prostitution, a lack of fertile women within the middle age group, a rise in the number of unregistered children and a host of other problems. All these problems lie in vast shortage in females compared to males.China is getting to a point where it is going to become drastically overpopulated and the government is right to try and implement a system which would reduce numbers. However, it goes too far in trying to implement this rule and there are many people who think that the whole system has been a fiasco. It is time for government to control population, but has it really solved the problem of bring the country up to date and created a better standard of living for its people? Therefore, it is the high time toabolish the One Child Policy..From what we have discussed above, we can see clearly that One Couple One Child Policy, not only for parents, for children, also for the society, does more harm than good in the long run. Therefore, it is time to abolish this policy as soon as possible.参考:维基百科计划生育政策的优缺点。

However, today, Chinese people may be leading the world in mobile payment, mainly WeChat Pay and Alipay.Foreigners feel amazed when Chinese people buy everything with their phones. At least, this was the case for Lim Swee Say, Manpower Minister of Singapore. When Lim was waiting in line to buy some snacks at a street stall(货摊)in Shanghai, he saw other customers show their phones and take the food without giving over any cash. Soon after, he realized that the customers were using mobile payment. "Singapore is actually backward(落后)" , said LimThe popularity of mobile payment in China has pushed many foreign countries and agencies to accept them. And several reasons might make this mobile payment spread in the whole world.● Quite a few Western mobile payment services require businessmen to install(安装)expensivemachines before customers can use them. While using Chinese mobile payment, all it takes is a QR code(二维码)and a smart phone.● Nowadays, almost everyone has a smart phone, even teenagers. He had been working all night on the design of a sewing machine but he had run into a very difficult problem: It seemed really hard to get the thread(线) to run smoothly around the needle(针).Though he was tired, Howe slept badly. He turned and turned. Then he had a dream. He dreamed that he had beencaught by terrible soldiers whose king wanted to kill him and eat him unless he could build a perfect sewing machine. When he tried to do so, Howe ran into the same problem as before. The thread kept getting caught around the needle. The king flew into the prison and ordered his soldiers to kill Howe. They came up towards him with their spears(矛) raised. But suddenly the inventor noticed something. There was a hole in the tip of each spear. The inventor awoke from the dream, realizing that he had just found the answer to the problem. Instead of trying to get the thread to run around the needle, he should make it run through a small hole in the center of the needle. This was the simple idea that finally made Howe design and build the first really practical sewing machine.Elias Howe was not the only one in finding the answer to his problem in this way. Thomas Edison, the inventor of the electric light, said his best ideas came into him in dreams. So did the great physicist Albert Einstein. Charlotte Bronte also drew in her dreams in writing Jane Eyre.To know the value of dreams, you have to understand what happens when you are asleep. Even then, a part of your mind is still working. This unconscious(无意识的), but still active part understands your experiences and goes to work on the problems you have had during the day. It stores all kinds of information that you may have forgotten or never have really noticed. It is only when you fall asleep that this part of the brain can send messages to the part you use when you are awake. However, the unconscious part acts in a special way. It uses strange images(图像) which the conscious part may not know at first. This is why dreams are sometimes called“secret messages to ourselves ”.1.According to the passage, Elias Howe was _______.A.the first person that solved problems in his sleepB.much more hard-working than other inventorsC.the first person to design a sewing machine that really workedD.the only person at the time who knew the value of dreams2.The problem Howe was trying to solve was _______.A.what kind of thread to useB.where to put the needleC.how to design a needle which would not breakD.how to prevent the thread from getting caught around the needle3.Thomas Edison is spoken of because _______.A.he also tried to invent a sewing machine B.he got some of his ideas from dreamsC.he was one of Howe's best friends D.he also had difficulty in falling asleep4.What does the underlined phrase “secret messages to ourselves” mean?A.Strange images are used to communicate ideas.B.Images which have no meaning are used.C.We can never understand the real meaning.D.Some specially trained people can know them.C15、China is a great country with the largest population in the world. In order to solve the population problem, our government carried out one﹣child policy (政策)before. When it is carried out for some time, many people not only see its advantages but also disadvantages. From 2016, two﹣child policy is put into effect. In my opinion, two﹣child policy is good. First of all, two﹣child policy is the gift for some only child. For some families, maybe the parents are only child and they also can have only child. Besides the loneliness of their child, when their child grows up and they grow older, their child marry an only child girl, the burden(负担)on their child and hiswife is too heavy. Their child and his wife have to take care of two couples. Usually, a young couple looking after an old couple is a little difficult. But if their parents have two children, they can share the burden of taking care of their parents. It would be much better. Secondly, two﹣child policy can guarantee (保证)the number of Chinese population. All in all, one﹣child policy has been out of date. And two﹣child policy is needed and necessary. It can solvethe problems of nowadays (现在)and the future.1.Which country has the largest population in the world?A.America B.Britain C.China D.Japan.2.The underlined phrase “carried out” in Paragraph 1mean s“”in Chinese.A.携带B.取消C.禁止D.实行3.Our government carried out one﹣child policy before in order to .A.solve the population problemB.take care of two old couplesC.share the burden of taking care of their pa rentsD.argue that two﹣child policy should be put into effect4.According to the passage, which of the following is NOT true?A.One﹣child policy has its advantages and disadvantages.B.It’s easy for a young couple to look after an old couple.C.China is a great country with the largest population in the world.D.For some families, maybe the parents are only child and they also can have5.What’s the main idea of this passage?A.Two﹣child policy is needed and necessary.B.Our government carried out one﹣child policy.C.Two﹣child policy is the gift for some only child.D.Two﹣child policy can guarantee the number of Chinese population.D16、What's your pain telling you?Is that pain you feel in your back, neck or shoulders just a short ache from your new exercise menu? Or is there something deeper and more serious at work? Either way, you decide not to pay attention to it."Pain is a warning system; it tells us that something is wrong," says Bradford Butler, a doctor. "Continual pain goes further. It is telling you that a whole system in your body isn't working right. "For many people and their doctors, the first reaction for pain, and sometimes the second and third reactions as well, is to take some painkillers and go on your way."That doesn't solve the problem, " Butler says. "Too often, with back pain, shoulder pain, neck pain or other continual pain, many doctors focus on reducing(减少) the pain rather than finding out the cause. "Imagine this, you wake up midnight with an unbearable toothache, and then visit a doctor who discovers a huge cavity(空洞)but, instead of repairing the cavity, just gives you some powerful medicine for the pain and sends you home.“Left untreated, the pain would get worse and the damage to the tooth would worsen, leading to bigger and more expensive medical process later on,”But ler says.Butler offers some advice for those whose bodies are trying to warn them that something is wrongChoose your doctor wisely. Blind faith (信任) in any doctor is not the answer. Butler says, " Doctors have their own specialty and make sure you find someone who will really help you with your problem. "Don't let your body resetting its pain level fool you. What happens when you let the pain go? Your body adapts (适应) . Butler says, "When your body gets used to the pain, you think the problem must be gone. While in reality, your body's pain setting has been raised. The only time you're feeling pain is when you're already in terrible poor condition. "Think of prevention. Dental (牙科的) patients are encouraged to have regular check-ups, whether they're in pain or not, so the doctor can work on potential (潜在的)problems. "That's the way for other pain," Butler says. "Being free of symptoms( 症状)doesn't mean you don't have big problems. It just means that you don't know they're developing. "" We need to listen to our pain and fix whatever is wrong as soon as possible, " Butler says. " You won't get betteruntil you find the cause of the problem. "1.Bradford Butler probably believes that .A.reducing the pain is the most importantB.finding out the cause of pain is too easyC.taking some painkillers can solve the problemsD.continual pain warns you that something is seriously wrong2.In Paragraph 5 , the writer wants to tell us .A.medical process is not cheap B.getting fully treated is necessary C.repairing the cavity is very difficult D.powerful medicine is the best solution 3.What can we know from the passage?A.Staying in terrible condition makes us fool.B.Having regular check-ups is only for dental patients.C.Finding the cause of the pain will make us healthier.D.Choosing a wise doctor is important from beginning to end.E17、(A)Ma YunBorn in 1964,Hangzhou Zhejiang The Chairman of Alibaba Group Tu Youyou85 years old , ChinaThe 2015 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine1.Who is the Chairman of Alibaba Group?A.Lang Lang. American Journal of Public Health,102(10), 1858-1859. doi:10.2105/AJPH.2012.300731In “Family Planning and Economic Development in China,” (American Journal of Public Health, October, 2012) PhD. In conclusion, the authors agree deeply that China should insist on implementing family planning policy and market economy.Chen, Y.X. (2007, October). Parent-child relationship in single-child families in China.WCPRR,2(4), 123-127. Retrieved from http:// /index-02_04_07.htmIn “Parent-child relationship in single-child families in China,” (WCPRR, October, 2007) Yixin Chen argues that as the Family Planning Policy has been carried out in China, there are some problems emerging and we need to pay much attention to these. Just like Chen (2007) writes, for four reasons causing child spoiled, treasuring, paying high expectations, excessive concerns and the emotional needs. (P.125) the children who come from one-child families would get more attached and dependent than the children who have siblings. Retrieved from /node/18988496In “Illegal children will be confiscated,” the author criticizes that the one-child policy is going against human-right and caused a demographic problem. There is a fact that those children who are called illegal will be packed off to orphanages. Although Chinese fertility was down, it also leads some problems. Now China becomes one of the world’s lowest “dependency ratios” country. Too few young people cause aging society. It is disturbing to think facing too many elders and too few females’ problems brought by policy’s distortions how can the young men do under this generation of one-child policy.Family-planning Policy Helps Offer Better Education to Children. (October 22, 2001).Xinhua News Agency. Retrieved from /english/GS-e/20973.htmIn “Family-planning Policy Helps Offer Better Education to Children,” (Xinhua News Agency, October 22, 2001) the author writes that China’s one-child policy is helpful for China’s education, because the number of school-age children becomes lesser and lesser since this policy has been implemented. In conclusion, the China’s family planning policy is helpful for China’s education to children and parents as well.Hudson V.M., & Boer A.D. (Spring 2008). China's Security, China's Demographics: Aging, Masculinization, and Fertility Policy. The Brown Journal of World Affairs, 14(2), 185-200. Retrieved from :2048/docview/219529131?account id=27424In “China's Security, China's Demographics: Aging, Masculinization, and Fertility Policy,”(The Brown Journal of World Affairs, Spring 2008) Valerie M. (November 28, 2011). CNTV.Retrieved form /video/2011-11/28/content_24023149.htmIn “Second child or not when one-child policy relaxes,” the author writes that presently some cities in China have relaxed the one-child policy, and facing this chance, many young couples hesitate to have more than one child. Because of the high living cost, raising more children proves to be stressful and difficult. Another reason given by an senior citizen is that “Young parent nowadays think too much of themselves, they just don’t want to shoulder more responsibilities.” (Para. 6) But facing the problem of aging population, more and more eligible young couples will consider having a second child. For the new policy, people still need some other supporting policy to share the burden of rearing children.Zhang, H. (2012, May). One-child Policy is Harming China. The Economic Observer, (568). Retrieved from /ens/2012/0509/226124.shtmlIn “One-child Policy is Harming China,” (The Economic Observer, May, 2012) Hong Zhang claims that China’s one-child policy should be loosened and even abolished. China Daily.Retrieved from/china/2013npc/2013-03/11/content_16299480.ht mIn “China to maintain family planning policy,” (China Daily, March 11, 2013) Huanxin Zhao, writes that China will continue the family planning policy although the government is planning to restructure the ministries. Today we still face lots of social issues like resource and population pressures, so family planning policy is still important for China. As the new government publishes the restructure plan, the implementation of family planning policy will be strengthened. The one-child policy is still important for China.Zhu, C. (2011). China’s Savings and Current Account Balance: A Demographic Transition Perspective.Modern Economy, 2, 804-813.doi:10.4236/me.2011.25089In “China’s Savings and Current Account Balance: A Demographic Transition,” Chao Zhu argues that China’s family planning policy should be maintained by analyzing the demographic structure, dependency ratios and China’s savings rate.

One-Child Policy Should Be Abolished
A lot of controversies about whether the government should abolish the one-child policy come out one after the other in recent years. The one-child policy dose have some benefits for china’s development, it also causes many problems such as only-child loneness, the aging of population, etc.
Firstly, only-child is harder to live a happy life . Since each family is allowed to give birth to only one child by the policy, the only child can be very lonely, without brothers or sisters to share feelings with or play games. And those feelings have caused some problem known as spoiled brat.when the only-child grows up, he or she has to support both of parents and parents in law with spouse, which is a big burden for the grown-up only child.
Secondly, the shortage of labor force and the aging of population are also big problems. When the one-child policy brings down the birth rate, at the same time, it leads to the drop of young population in the proportion, the rise of elderly population ratio and the slowdown of the working age population growth. As china’s economy is growing rapidly, the demand of labor force is increasing too. The slowdown of the labor force growth may influence the development of china. According to a UN's forecast, by 2030, the age of the Chinese population structure will tend to be that the elderly population is more than the youth population,
which just like the upside of pyramid shape. Some experts think, even if China's economy can still keep current growth speed, it’s also hard to feed so many old people.
Given what’s been talked above, one conclusion can be drawn: for the next generation and the future of china,it is time to abolish the one-child policy now.。
