教材分析
本部分再次呈现了一篇反映单元主题的课文,语篇类型为论坛专题讨论,是新媒体语篇。
课文介绍了四位英语学习者在学习过程中遭遇的困惑与误解。
通过这一板块的学习,学生能够加深对英语语言的多样性、创造性及其丰富的文化内涵的理解,形成在英语学习中关注背后文化内涵的学习思维和跨文化意识。
教学目标
在本课学习结束时,学生能够:
1. 通过推测和阅读获取文章大意,理解标题和写作意图。
2. 深度理解课文内容,联系自身的英语学习经历,加深对单元主题的理解。
3.运用所学简单记述自己在英语学习过程中遇到的困惑。

教学过程
Step 1 Warming-up
1.Can you guess the meanings of these expressions? Have a try!
2.Discuss the following expressions and guess the meanings of them
设计意图:创设情境,引入主题,铺垫语言。
Step 2 Read for understanding
1.Read the passage and find the words or expressions that cause the misunderstandings.
2.Read the definitions of the words and expressions that caused the misunderstandings. Match
the definitions to the posts.
a.How can you figure out the meanings?
b.Why did Yancy, Sophie, Julien and Zhengzu fail to understand others’ meaning?

Step 3 Think & Share
Which post do you find most interesting? Why?
How would you deal with the situations described in the posts?
What examples of Internet language are used in the passage? What do they mean?

Do you know of any Chinese expressions that often cause misunderstandings for people from other countries? Share them with the class.
