E be a subset of a group G.Definition2.1The subgroup generated by the subset E(in G)is the intersection of all the subgroups of G containing E.Such subgroups do exist:for instance,the trivial subgroup G.Proposition2.2The subgroup G generated by a subset E consists of allfinite products of elements of E and inverses of these elements.Proof.Following the definition we have:H.G =H≤GH⊇ELet G be the set of allfinite products of elements of E and their inverses.We shall prove that G =G .By definition it follows that E⊆G .On the other hand,from Fact1.2,G is a subgroup of G and it is immediate now that that E is a set of generators for G.Example1.The aditive group of integers(Z Z,+)can be generated by the element1or by its oposite -1,since every integer n=0can be written as a sum of n terms equal to1if n>0or as a sum of−n terms equal to-1if n<0.Groups that can be generated by a single element are called cyclical groups.3Equivalence Relations.Quotient SetLet A be a set.Definition3.1A binary relation,usually denoted by“∼”,is said to be an equivalence relation on A provided the following three conditions And it gave us chances to practice ordering food, asking for things politely in English, expressing likes and dislikes, etc. The snacks brought an element of real-world scenarios that we could try out.So those are some of the main concerns I've been noticing with our club lately: lower attendance, lack ofparticipation/engagement, boring activities, and no more snacks. But I have a plan to fix ALL of those problems and take our English Club to new heights! Here's what I think we should do:Refreshments Responsibility - We can form a "Snacks Squad" that is in charge of bringing treats and drinks for each meeting. We'll take turns so that nobody has to provide everything all the time. That way we can incorporate thefood/drink element again in a sustainable way.Activity Makeover - Let's get creative and brainstorm a bunch of new, exciting games and interactive activities to do during the meetings. We can even open it up for suggestions from all members. There are so many fun ways to learn English that don't feel like work at all.Participation Points - Why don't we start some kind of points/rewards system where people get points for активный участие? Whether it's speaking English exclusively during anactivity, leading a conversation, introducing new vocabulary words, or whatever, we can track points and maybe reward the highest scorer each month with a little prize.Accountability Partners - We could go around and pair up members to be "accountability partners." Each partner would be responsible for making sure the other person attends every meeting, engages fully, and puts in proper effort. We'll all push and motivate each other that way.Membership Review - Unfortunately, some of our club members have not been taking it very seriously, despite numerous chances. If things don't improve after enacting these other ideas, we may need to look at revoking membership for those few individuals who simply aren't participating at all. This club should be for committed students only.Those are my thoughts and suggestions, but I'm really interested to hear what YOU all think too. We should have an open discussion about any other ideas for improving and revitalizing our English Club. Then we can put together an action plan and timeline for making it all happen.I'll admit, part of my motivation for wanting to make these changes is because I'm hoping to be elected as president of the English Club next year. But even more than that, I care so deeplyabout this club, this language, and all of you. English is a key that can unlock a huge world of opportunities for us. We're so fortunate to have this club where we can learn it together in a fun, supportive environment.
