Starter Unit 1 Good morning
Step 1Lead in
Listen to a “ABCDEF!” song. Then Ss learn to sing this song.
Step 2Presentation
1.Greet the class with a smile and say “Good morning!” Introduce the words “teacher” and “class” by using gestures.
2.Introduce yourself and say “I'm Miss/Mr.…”Repeat them several times. Explain t he terms “Miss” and “Mr.” in Chinese.
3.Leave the classroom, return and say “Good morning, class!” Help the students respond with “Good morning, Miss/Mr.…” Say “Sit down, please. Now let's start the lesson.”
(Practice it several times.)
Step 3Game: Choose an English name
1.T: We have many new friends in our class this year. They are from the U.S.A. and England. Who are they? Do you want to know them? Now please look at the screen.

3.Ss try to copy the letters by themselves.
4.Let some Ss come to the front, and write down the letters on the blackboard. Check with the whole class.

1.First, read the letters aloud. Then let some Ss read them to the class aloud.
2.Let some Ss come to the front and write down the missing letters on the blackboard.
3.Check the answers with the class.

1.Let Ss look at the pictures in 2e. Let some Ss read the letters below each picture.
2.Let some Ss talk about the meaning of each picture.

1.Write the names.

Girls' names: Alice, Cindy, Grace, Helen
2.Now let's review the English letters Aa~Hh.
Ask some Ss to come to the front and write them on the blackboard.
(注意和学生们一起纠正个别学生不正确的笔画。

3.Greet the Ss.
T: Good morning, Class!
Ss: Good morning, Mr./Ms.…
Then sing the “Good morning!” song.
Now greet your partner with your English names.
