6. Eat up! 大家尽情享用吧!
当主人的该怎么提醒别人可以开吃了呢? 简单的我们可以说"Let's eat."或是用一个短语"Eat up."也不错。

或许有人会问那eat 和eat up 有什么不同? 简而言之，eat 是指"吃"的动作, 但也可以指"吃饭"而言。

所以你可以跟朋友说"Do you want to go out to eat? (想不想去吃饭啊?)"但eat up 则有"吃光"和"尽情享用"的意思在内。

值得注意的是，许多带有up 的短语都有"用完、耗尽"的意思。

例如"use up" 指用光。

但事实上，"eat"和"eat up"有时候我们很难去介定两者的区别，也就是说两者事实上常常混用。

例如你可以说"Computer games eat up my time. (计算机游戏占去了我的时间。

)" 但这里如果你用"eat my time"也并无不妥。

所以说这些口语上的用法并不如字典里的定义那般精确。
