Qu Yuan was born (出生) about two thousand (千) years ago. His job was to give advice (建议) to the king (国王). The king always took (采纳) his advice. However, the king died (死亡) and the new king didn’t listen to him.
The new king lost a battle (战争). So the country was in danger (危险). Qu Yuan was very sad. He was worried. Later he jumped into a river and died.
Nowadays (现在), people remember (纪念) Qu Yuan, they have dragon boat races and eat rice dumplings. There are many kinds (种类) of rice dumplings, but I like eating salty rice dumplings with meat. I usually enjoy dragon boat races with my family.
