教学过程
1.lead-in 导入
It’s to arouse students interest in guessing the meanings and the skills of guessing
The new year is coming, what’s your dream for new year? A boy named Xiaoming has a wonderful dream. His dream is to have a large vocabulary of 5.000 words. His dream will come true if he has a magic ability. Try to guess what the ability is? The powerful ability is to guess the meanings.
2.self-access 自主学习
Give students their task of this part and their time.
1) Try to guess the meanings of the underlind words;
2) Try to summarize the skills about guessing the meanings.
3. Sharing 交流研讨
Group discussion & Individual discussion
Tell them what they are expected to do in this part.
1) Talk about the meanings of the underlined words and how you get it;
2) Summarize and share your skills.
4. Teacher’s response 精讲
不讲:
1)There are 26 underlined words in all. And most of them can be correctly guessed. So most of these meanings will not be talked about.
2)猜测词义题的提问方式
略讲:
1)Some of the meanings, such as territory, eccentric, hassele, microwave, commercialized. It’s difficult to guess, and teacher will talk about it,but not in details.
2)这几个词学生在猜测过程中觉得有难度,主要原因有两点,这两方面如果解决了,学生在猜测词义过程中会更从容。
此时老师引导学生去注意这两方面问题。
A large enough vocabulary is very important, so try to enlarge your vocabulary.
In most cases, it doesn’t matter what the exactly meaning is. What matters is your guess is reasonable.
3)学生在遇到阅读过程中遇到生词该如何处理?在不同情况下应该有不同的处理方式,简略的给学生介绍如何应对。
1. Ignore them and continue reading;
2. Look them up in the dictionary;
3. Guess the meanings of them.

生成问题:
1.eccentric 的意思是古怪的?还是稀奇的?
2.hassle该如何通过上下文猜词义?有关键词吗?
3.一些词语可以通过观察词语的构造结构来猜测,常见的前缀,后缀都有哪些?
4.猜测词义的时候,该从哪些方面入手?
课后反思
1.自学内容的设置应该再增加些趣味性,借此加强学生的研讨积极性。
2.应该多给学生补充一些前缀后缀,由于时间没把握好,这一块没做到位。
3.精讲的语言不够出彩,以后要在平时的教学工作中不断锻炼,不断进步。
