读完这篇文章后，我们不难看出这是一篇有关药品使用说明的说明文。

聪明的考生从短文中的中文注释("药片"、"缓解疼痛"、"量")已根本看出本文的大概意思。

说明文所涉与的内容范围比拟广，一般说来，假设是你对被说明的东西比拟熟悉或有所了解，读起来要相对容易
些。

比如：你读的假设是一篇有关电脑方面的说明文章，但你对电脑却一无所知，更不用说电脑的用途、性能了，可以想像较之那些对电脑用途性能有所了解甚至使用过电脑的人，你读这篇文章的难度要大得多。

又比如1990年有一篇高考阅读理解叫Annealing(退火)，它讲的是如何通过annealing来使金属变硬(hard)、变软(soft)、变脆(brittle)、变韧(tough)等。

我们可以想象假设有一个考生是铁匠的儿子，那么他做这篇阅读理解肯定要比一般的考生容易得多。

所以这也从一个侧面告诉我们，要做好阅读理解题，宽广的知识面是很重要的。

同时同学们在做说明文的阅读理解题时要尽可能联想与其有关的一些知识(尤其是一个中学生所应具备的那些根本常识)，以帮助理解。

下面就是本篇文章的解题思路：
1.选C。

第二自然段最后一句话：24小时内服此药不要超过6片，接着又说：6岁至12岁减半，6岁以下的要遵医嘱。

据此可知：12岁以上的人在24小时以内服此药最多不能超过6片。

2.选C。

据以上第1小题的分析：一般人在24小时以内服此药最多不能超过6片，9岁的小孩应减半，即最多应是3片。

综合四个选项只有C适合。

3.选D。

短文最后一句说，假设是服此药之后，睡不好觉，应减少药量(reduce the amount)，应当选D。

4.选B。

短文第三自然段说：6岁以下的小孩服用此药要遵医嘱，这就说明此药6岁以下的小孩不能随便服用，或者说这药对他们可能有危险(may be dangerous to them)，所以选B。

5选A。

假设撇开第一自然段不看，那么此题选D也完全可以，但正因为有了第一自然段这个说明("你能读懂药瓶上的说明吗?你理解Take only as directed.的意思吗?读读下面的说明看看你是否能理解它们")，所以要选A。
