【语法小贴士】
1. Although / Though I like acting, I’d rather be a director.
1）在一般情况下although可与though通用, though多用于口语, although较为正式。

当although 或though引导的从句放在句首时, 主从句之间要用逗号隔开。

e.g. 尽管他知道吸烟有害健康，他还是不戒烟。

/ he knows smoking is bad for his health, he doesn’t give it up.
2）Although和though都不可以和but同时出现在句子里，可以和still, yet 同时出现。

e.g. 虽然我的小汽车很旧，但是仍然跑的很好。

Although my car is very old, it runs very well.
= It still runs very well my car is very old .
=My car is very old but it runs very well.
2. He got up so late that he couldn’t watch the raising of the national flag.
1）so…that…引导结果状语从句so是副词，常用来修饰形容词或副词。

常用句型为：主语+谓语动词+so+adv./adj.+that从句
e.g. 他太小了以至于不能照顾自己。

He is young he can’t look after herself.
2）such…that…，作“如此…以致于”解释，连接一个表示结果的状语从句，后边要接名词或者名词短语。

▲ such＋a(an)＋adj.＋单数可数名词+that…
He is a clever boy everybody likes him.
▲ such＋adj.＋不可数名词+ that…
He has made great progress the teachers are pleased with him
▲ such＋adj.＋复数名词+that…
They are interesting novels I want to read them once again.
3）名词前由many, much, few, little等词所修饰的话，则不用such，而用so，其中要注意little 这个词当它表示“数量少”时才可以和其它三个有同样的用法。

1）他摔了很多跤，以致于全身上下青一块紫一块的。

He had many falls that he was black and blue all over.
2）他所受教育很少，不适合做这个工作。

He had little education that he didn’t fit for this job.
3）她是如此小的一个孩子，不能独自开车。
