Pets Raising in China作者:来源:《中国经贸聚焦·英文版》2011年第05期Some points about raising pets in China need to be known to the foreigners who want an animal companion for them.Sometimes people need pets’ company and comfort. In China, as well as most countries in the world, there are special rules about raising pets in China. For foreigners who want to live with their pets in China. It is necessary to know these rules in order to avoid any trouble. How to get the approval to raise pets?1. The Exit-entry Administration Offices for Foreigners of the Public Security Department in different cities are responsible for giving the ID cards to foreigners’ pets and relevant examination work.2. Only the ambassadors and consuls of foreign countries or international institutions in China, as well as the foreigners having got the resident permit and been living in the city where the resident permit is issued for one year can get the ID cards for their pets.3. The foreigners applying for ID cards for their pets must possess passports, resident permit and diplomat cards (for ambassadors and consuls) before getting the Applicant Form for Raising Pets from the Exit-entry Administration Offices for Foreigners.4. The foreigners must get the approval for the Applicant Form for Raising Pets from the residents’ committee of the community they live (the residents’ committee is a special agency to manage the civil affairs of a community in China) before submitting them to the Exit-entry Administration Offices for Foreigners.5. The Exit-entry Administration Offices for Foreigners will decide whether to give the approval to foreigners within ten working days and send the notice through SMS, calls or letters.ID Cards for PetsPets also need ID cards in China. For dogs and cats, there are certain procedures to get the ID cards. Rules may vary a little from place to place. But the general rules are the same as follows:1. The foreigners must appoint qualified hospitals or institutions for pets to make examinations on their health and give them vaccines against hydrophobia. The pets passing the examination are given certificates that they have been injected with vaccines.2. The owners of pets take the certificates, the proof of their ownership of the pets, and three 1-inch pictures of the pets to the Exit-Entry Administration for Foreigners. After paying the insurance fees, registration fees and the other fees (the amount varies to different places), they can get the license of raising pets, as well as the ID cards for their pets.3. Step Two must be down within one month after Step One.4. It should be noted that the license and the ID cards be reviewed once a year. The review is available in two months of each year (depends on cities).Miscellaneous1. If the address of the owner changes, the license also need to be modified.2. If the pet dies, the license and ID card automatically become invalid.3. Notable is that the dangerous animals, such as predatory animals and poisonous animals, can not be raised as pets in cities. The animals under protection, such as pandas, can not be owned by individuals.4. Climate is an impor tant factor for the pets’ health. It is a stupid idea to raise macaw and other animals from the tropical area in Beijing, Shenyang and the other northern cities. Similarly, careful attend is needed for raising husky and samoyed in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Sanya and the other tropical or sub-tropical cities in China.5. There is no rule banning raising big animals, such as horse, donkey, bull etc. in the cities. But it is very uncommon to see these animals living in cities as pets. So it is not wise to raise these animals in big cities.6. Make sure that your pets do not bother your neighbors’ living. If your dog barks too loudly and frequently, or it bites others, you have to be responsible for your pet’s deeds and may get fined.Note:The ID cards for the pets usually refer to dogs and cats (mostly dogs actually). Raising birds (pigeon excluded), guinea pigs, squirrels, etc. do not need to go through the aforementioned procedures.。

饲养宠物的利英语作文Raising Pets: The BenefitsPets have long been a beloved part of many households around the world. From the loyal companionship of dogs to the curious and playful nature of cats, these furry or feathered friends have the ability to bring joy, comfort, and a sense of purpose to our lives. Beyond the emotional connections, there are numerous benefits to raising pets that extend far beyond the bonds we share with them. In this essay, we will explore the various advantages of pet ownership and why incorporating a four-legged or winged companion into our lives can be a rewarding and enriching experience. One of the primary benefits of raising pets is the positive impact they can have on our physical health. Studies have shown that interacting with animals can lower blood pressure, reduce stress levels, and even improve cardiovascular health. The act of petting a dog or cat has been found to have a calming effect, releasing oxytocin, a hormone that promotes feelings of well-being and relaxation. This can be particularly beneficial for individuals who may be dealing with anxiety, depression, or other mental health challenges. Additionally, the physical activity required to care for a pet, such as walking a dogor playing with a cat, can contribute to an overall healthier lifestyle and increased physical fitness.Beyond the physical benefits, pets can also have a profound impact on our mental and emotional well-being. Caring for a pet can provide a sense of purpose and responsibility, which can be especially valuable for individuals who may be feeling isolated or disconnected from their communities. The unconditional love and companionship that pets offer can be a powerful antidote to loneliness, and the act of nurturing and caring for another living being can be deeply fulfilling. Furthermore, studies have shown that interacting with animals can reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety, and can even improve cognitive function in older adults.Another significant advantage of raising pets is the opportunity for socialization and community engagement. Owning a pet can be a great conversation starter and a way to connect with others who share a similar interest. Dog owners, for example, often find themselves engaging in friendly conversations with fellow dog walkers at the park or in their neighborhoods. This can lead to the formation of new social connections and the development of a sense of community. Additionally, many pet owners participate in organized activities, such as obedience classes or pet-friendly events, which can further expand their social circles and provide opportunities for shared experiences.Pets can also play an important role in the development and well-being of children. Exposure to animals from a young age can teach children valuable lessons about responsibility, empathy, and respect for living beings. Caring for a pet can help children develop a sense of nurturing and compassion, as well as important problem-solving and decision-making skills. Furthermore, the presence of a pet in the home can provide comfort and security for children, particularly during times of stress or transition, and can even contribute to improved academic performance and social skills. In addition to the personal benefits, raising pets can also have a positive impact on the broader community. Many pet owners volunteer their time and resources to support local animal shelters, rescue organizations, or pet-related charities. This not only helps to improve the lives of animals in need but also fosters a sense of community engagement and social responsibility. Moreover, the presence of well-cared-for pets in a neighborhood can contribute to a sense of safety and security, as responsible pet owners often serve as additional eyes and ears in their communities. While there are undoubtedly challenges and responsibilities that come with raising a pet, the benefits of pet ownership far outweigh the drawbacks. From the physical and mental health advantages to the opportunities for social connection and community engagement, incorporating a furry or feathered friend into our lives can be a truly rewarding and enriching experience. Whether it's the unconditional love of a dog, the playful antics of a cat, or the fascinating behaviors of a more exotic pet, the joy and fulfillment that pets bring to our lives is undeniable. As we continue to navigate the complexities of modern life, the simple act of caring for a pet can serve as a powerful reminder of the importance of compassion, responsibility, and the profound impact that the human-animal bond can have on our overall well-being.。

养宠物不文明的行为大学英语作文Title: Discouraging Uncivilized Behavior when Raising PetsIntroduction:In today's society, raising pets has become a popular trend, providing companionship, entertainment, and emotional support to many individuals. However, it is crucial to remember that being a responsible pet owner entails adhering to certain rules and etiquette. Unfortunately, some individuals engage in uncivilized behavior when it comes to pet ownership. In this essay, we will discuss several instances of inappropriate behavior and propose solutions to promote responsible pet ownership.Body:1. Failure to Clean up Pet Waste:One common form of uncivilized behavior exhibited by pet owners is the failure to clean up after their pets. This includes leaving pet waste in public spaces such as parks, sidewalks, and even neighbors' yards. Negligence in this matter not only creates an unhygienic environment but also poses health risks to others.Solution: Responsible pet owners should always carry poop bags when walking their pets and promptly dispose of waste in designated bins. Additionally, local authorities can increase public awareness through educational campaigns, emphasizing the importance of cleanliness and the consequences of non-compliance.2. Excessive Noise or Disturbances:Some pet owners neglect the peace and quiet of their surroundings by allowing their pets to create unnecessary disturbances. This includes incessant barking, howling, or aggressive behavior towards other pets or humans.Solution: Pet owners should invest time and effort in training their pets to behave appropriately, particularly in public spaces or within shared living quarters. Attending obedience classes or seeking professional advice can significantly help in curbing excessive noise or disruptive behavior.3. Allowing Pets to Roam Unleashed:Allowing pets to roam freely without a leash is another uncivilized behavior that can lead to various problems. Unleashed pets may become aggressive towards strangers, cause accidents by running into traffic, or disturb other animalsin public places.Solution: Pet owners must adhere to leash laws in public spaces and residential areas. Encouraging responsible pet ownership through increased enforcement, strictly imposing fines or penalties for those who violate leash laws, can help deter such behavior.4.
