Verb tenses, punctuation rules, and parts of speech will probably show up on the midterm in some way.We've really drilled things like using comma properly, making sure verb tenses are consistent and match the time period being described, identifying and using different types of phrases and clauses, and following capitalization and formatting rules.I'm honestly not amazing at grammar, and I still make silly mistakes like confusing there/their/they're or misplacing commas. But the more examples and practice exercises we do, the more those rules are sticking for me. I'd expect to see at least a few grammar sections on the midterm to identify errors and edit writing samples.Vocabulary & Word StudyExpanding our vocabulary and analyzing how words relate to one another has been woven throughout our readings and writings as well. We've been on some really fun trips, but my favorite was definitely our trip to the beach last summer. My mom and dad rented a big house right on the beach, so we could just walk out the back door and be on the sand. It was awesome! My dad is a pro at the basketball game, so he won us a ton of tickets. I got a huge teddy bear that's as big as me! We spent an entire day just going from arcade to arcade on theboardwalk.
