(1). Explain that they will carry out an research and find out where they were over the summer vacation.
(2). Have them walk around the classroom and interview each other.

(1). Look at the pictures and the names, say what they did yesterday, guess what their names are .
(2). Free talk : What are there on Mars？----Human? Animals? Water? ……

(1).Decode the message: A. Look at the code, each letter of the alphabet is represented by another letter.

本单元以“太空探索”为主题，以Ann的梦为线索，通过Ken和Ann探索火星，遇到外星人的奇妙经历，引入一般过去时的学习。学生初次接触过去时态，主要学习“谁有什么或哪里有什么”的表达法，涉及had, was/were的肯定用法。目的是使学生初步接触过去时的表达法，体验、理解过去时的概念。同时，本单元充满了丰富的想象，有利于开阔学生的视野，激发学生想象和对太空的认识和了解

(3).Play the tape again, finish matching and then check the answers.
