The following simple exercise routine works as well as prescription medication (药物治疗) without the side effects.
A jog a day could keep your headaches at bay: Regular cardio workouts(有氧锻炼) may prevent migraines (偏头痛) , a growing body of research suggests.
Migraine patients had fewer headaches after doing 40—minute cycling workouts three times a week for three months, according to a Swedish study.
The exercise routine worked just as well as one of the top migraine-preventing drugs—topamirate but without the side effects of depression and tremors(刺激)。

Cardio workouts can help with regular headaches, too, says Alexander Mauskop。

M.D。

director of the New York Headache Center in Manhattan.
There are a couple of theories on how it works.
“Breaking a sweat may relieve stress”, says Dr。

Mauskop。

Headaches are often triggered by stress, and if you remove the trigger, you release the pain。

The feel-good chemicals produced when you exercise actually block your pain sensors, acting as a natural painkiller。

Since headaches can be caused by many different factors like genetics (遗传),lack of sleep, or certain foods, the cardio won't be the solution for everyone,Dr。

Mauskop says. But one German study found that it helped 65 percent of patients, which makes it as effective as the best medicines on the market.
Dr。

Mauskop recommends his patients do a half—hour reasonable
intensity (强度)cardio workout, like jogging, biking, or swimming three times a week. These workouts are meant to be slow and steady, as opposed to high-intensity intervals(间隔) that alternate between all—out runs and rest.
Pushing yourself too much or increasing the intensity too quickly can trigger headaches in some people, so make sure your heart rate doesn’t jump above 150 BPM。

If you don’t have a heart rate monitor, then breathe only through your nose. You’ll know you're going too hard if you can’t keep up that breathing pattern。

Your migraines could start disappearing in a couple of weeks, Dr. Mauskop says.
24. According to the passage, the author may agree that
A. migraine patients may be cured by regular cardio workouts
B。

neither cardio workouts nor topamirate has side effects
C . jogging, swimming and fishing are cardio workouts
D。

cardio workouts will be the solution for everyone with migraines
25. The underlined word ”triggered” in Paragraph 7 can be replaced by _
A. cured
B. caused
C.
released D. monitored
26。

The feel—good chemicals produced can help with regular headaches
because
A. it eases the stress
B. it breaks a sweat
C. it blocks your pain sensors D。

it prevents migraines
27。

What would be the best title?
A。

A cure for headache. B. Side effects of migraine。

C。

The causes of headache。

D。

Advantages of cardio workouts.

We talk about people being “colour-blind” but very few of us are。

Even those who describe themselves as colour—blind are normally just colour lack. A strongly colour-blind person will still be able to tell 20 different colour, compared to the 100 or so that normal-sighted people see.
Pingelap, a tiny island in the Pacific, is a beautiful spot but one that has a genetic(遗传的) trouble。

It is known as Colour-blind Island because so many people who live on this remote island can only see in black and white。

Not being able to see in colour is bad enough. But one islander, Herrol, who’s a fisherman, also struggles in full sunlight because all be sees is a painful burnt-out image。

“I find it difficult to go outside in the sun,” he says,“because when it’s sunny I cannot see to do my work.”
But if being truly colour—blind is rare, why is it that around 10% of the population of Pingelap live in a totally black and white world?
Well, we know that in 1780 the population of Pingelap was all but wiped out by a tsunami
(海啸). As few as 20 people survived, one of whom was the king。

It’s believed he had a genetic fault that causes colour—blindness and he passed this fault on to his many generations.
There is one advantage。

Herrol can see well, really well, in the dark. So when it gets dark, Herrol and his fiends get in their boats and hunt flying fish。

They hang up flaming torches and die fish are at tracted to the flames.“This type of fishing is fun," Herrol says,“especially if we catch plenty。

So even though it’s hard work we enjoy it。

D。

Because die king’s genetic fault played a role
31. What would be the best title for die text?

Man need to seek out new foods because the world has so many mouths to feed.As of 2015,there are more than seven billion people on Earth, according to the United Nations. And by 2100 that number may double.Feeding all of these people means not only improving the way food is grown, but also finding new sources of nutrition. And this need is becoming ever more urgent. If nothing changes, within 35 years, the world’s appetite will be greater than the amount of food produced. That's according to a report released last year. It was prepared by the Global Harvest Initiative,a private agriculture group based in Washington。

All over the world, researchers are racing against the clock to figure out how best to feed more people in a fast-changing world. And some surprising ideas have begun
to come up.Two years ago, scientists showed the first hamburger made from meat produced in a lab, rather than taken from an animal body. The project cost more than $ 300,000,but it’s a start.Other researchers are developing seeds that can survive high temperatures and drought.Still others are finding ways to improve the genes of meat animals so they produce more meat.
For example, researchers in South Korea and China have an idea: the super -pig.These researchers have changed the genes in a type of a pig to create an animal that becomes bigger and heavier, packing on more muscle.Typically, muscle tissue(组织) is the part of an animal that becomes meat for food.biologist Jinsoo Kim at Seoul National University in the south Korea
leads super—pig research there。

Kim sees many possible uses for the editing technology.such gene correction,he says, might help improve crops fish and animals kept on a farm。

“we are now working on changing genes in other large animals like dogs and cows,” he says。

However, animals w ith genes changed in the lab haven’t yet been approved for eating. More studied would be needed to ensure they are safe, but Kim and his workmate hope that day won’t be far away。
