背课文听起来很可怕，每个人似乎都经历过。不过不能否认，背课文是学英语最好的方法之一。特别是对于少年儿童更是如此。背课文是一项虽然艰苦却其乐无穷的学习方式。只要把握的好，就能够使学生在快乐和成就感中学习。

第一条原则：理解而后能背。

对于一篇课文，首要问题是要非常清楚它的意思。只有在这个基础上才能开始努力去背。生吞活剥式的死记硬背是没有效果的。在背之前首先要弄懂文章的中心内容，记叙文要弄清楚记述的事情、人物、时间、地点等等，说明文要明白主要解说的对象和不同方面和性质，而议论文则要弄清所讨论的问题和主要的论点、论据、论证的关系。

要以文章内容为线索进行记忆。要弄懂上下句之间的内容和逻辑上的关系，而后才是语言上的起承转合。这样背课文就是因事而语，有意义地背，言之有物，背之有理。这样的背诵对日后的写作和口语帮助也是最大的。

第二条原则：所背的文章要典型而纯。

文章一旦背下就会记住很长时间甚至永远不忘，对今后的英语学习产生深远影响。所以背要选那些真正典型而纯的文章。以完全正确和有代表性的文章丰富孩子语言资料。

第三条原则：先听后背。

既然背课文是练习英语口语行之有效的方法，那在背的时候就要特别注意。学语言模仿是关键，所以在背之前要先听，听要听原装正版的录音，当然推荐外籍教师的录音，这样能够学到非常地道的发音。而且要反复听，直到能够模仿得很像为止。这一个阶段是比较枯燥的，但非常有效。

第四条原则：从易到难、从短到长、循序渐进

背课文比较艰苦，特别是一开始，最是要避免产生抵触心理。所以开始的时候哪怕就只是几句话也好，先要建立信心和兴趣。不要贪多，想一口吃个胖子的想法是极端错误的。急不得，慢慢增长，逐渐地熟悉背课文的套路和一些英语中常用的关联词，能够越来越容易。

第五条原则：背课文一天之际在于晨

早晨是练习口语和背课文的黄金时间，要充分利用。每天早起半个小时，大声朗读背诵，不但对英语，对自己的心情和一天的状态都有好处。

第六条原则：注意重点句型和单词

背课文不只是注重整体，对于单个重点的语言现象应该给予同等的重视，毕竟背课文最重要的任务就是要在课文中学习英语。所以，在背诵前应该认真得学习掌握课文中的重点单词，不仅注重他的发音和拼写，还要注意它的前后搭配。要全面了解重点得语法现象，注意各种实际使用中的变化以及具体的含义。

第七条原则：及

时复习，多多重复。

背诵的东西要及
时重复，一般要重复到28遍才可能比较牢固地记住。当然我们并不是要求要记住每一篇文章，但是，如果像狗熊掰棒子一样，随背随忘也就没有意义了。而记忆最有效的方法就是多重复，及时复习。把一篇背得烂熟比十篇结结巴巴要好得多。所以，重复和复习不是减慢而是必要得手段。

第八条原则：同一篇背诵的课文要尽量多以不同语调，在不同环境和条件下重复。

这样不仅可以增强记忆，更可以使得所背的课文活起来，真正成为召之即来的如意工具。比如一篇记叙文既可以以朗诵的语调高声朗诵，也要以讲故事的方式娓娓到来，这样才会逐渐的从语言的习惯中解脱出来，转而更为重视语言所表达的内容，这样在相似情况出现的时候，语言自然而然地脱口而出。
