My Journey Through Beautiful China
Hi everyone! My name is Lily and I'm 10 years old. Today, I want to share with you my awesome journey through the beautiful country of China! I went on this trip with my mom, dad, and little brother Max during our summer vacation. We saw so many amazing places and had the best time ever!
Our journey began in Beijing, the capital city. Beijing is a huge, bustling place with over 21 million people! We visited Tiananmen Square which is one of the biggest public squares in the world. It was cool to stand in a place with such important history. My favorite was exploring the Forbidden City though. This was the palace where the emperors of China lived long ago. It has nearly 1,000 buildings with beautiful gardens, halls, and gates painted in bright reds and yellows. I felt like a princess walking through it all!
After Beijing, we went to Xi'an to see the amazing Terracotta Warriors. These are thousands of life-sized soldier statues that
were buried underground for over 2,000 years to guard an emperor's tomb! Each warrior statue is different, with unique facial features and expressions. The craftsmanship is out of this world. I couldn't believe people made each one by hand so long ago. It's crazy to think they were frozen in time for over 2 millennia before being discovered!
Our next stop was the breathtaking city of Shanghai on the eastern coast. Shanghai is so futuristic with its soaring skyscrapers and bright, neon lights everywhere you look. We went up to the top of the Shanghai World Financial Center which is one of the tallest buildings in the world. The view from up there was unbelievable - a sea of towers and busy streets as far as I could see! We also visited the Bund waterfront which is the most famous sight in Shanghai. It was gorgeous at night with all the historic buildings on one side and the space-age skyline on the other side reflected in the river.
From the modern big city, we then traveled to someplace quite different - the picturesque countryside of Guilin. Guilin is known for its stunning natural scenery of karst hills, caves, and rivers. We took a leisurely boat cruise along the Li River that winds through a magical landscape of moss-covered peaks and forests. I couldn't get enough of the peaceful waters and
incredible mountain views. We also visited Reed Flute Cave, which has multicolored lighting set up inside to make the rock formations and stalagmites glow in purples, greens, and reds. It felt like being in some kind of fantasy world!
Our last stop was Chengdu, the home of China's iconic and adorable giant pandas! We went to the Chengdu Research Base which is a conservation center for these beautiful black and white bears. We got to see dozens of pandas lounging, munching on bamboo, and playing. The baby pandas were especially cute, climbing all over each other and tumbling around clumsily. I just wanted to reach through the enclosure and hug them all! We also saw red pandas there, which look like a cross between a raccoon and a bear. So fluffy and sweet.
Those were the biggest highlights of our Chinese summer vacation. From historic Beijing to modern Shanghai, from the otherworldly nature of Guilin to the cuddly pandas of Chengdu, I got to experience so many different sides of this vast and amazing country. China has such a rich culture and history going back thousands of years, yet it also has cutting-edge cities with incredible modern architecture. And let's not forget the diverse landscapes, ranging from lush green karst mountains and tranquil rivers to panda-filled nature reserves.
What struck me most was just how massive and varied China is. One minute you're exploring an ancient imperial palace, and the next you're gawking at towering skyscrapers straight out of a sci-fi movie. There are so many contrasts and different experiences packed into one country. I feel like I only scratched the surface of everything China has to offer.
This trip opened my eyes to the wonders of travel and experiencing new cultures. While China may seem far away, I realize now that the world is full of incredible sights and adventures waiting to be discovered. I can't wait to plan my next journey and make more amazing memories! Maybe I'll convince my parents to take me to see the Great Wall of China next time. Wouldn't that be incredible? No matter where I go though, I know the memories of this Chinese summer vacation will stay with me forever. Beautiful China
Hi everyone! My name is Xiaoming and I'm going to tell you all about the amazing country I live in - China! China is a super
cool place with so many neat things to see and do. Let me tell you about some of my favorite parts.
First up, the Great Wall of China! This huuuuuge wall snakes across the mountains in the northern part of the country. Can you believe it's over 13,000 miles long? That's really, really far! Some parts of the Great Wall are crumbling and broken down, but other parts have been fixed up and look amazing. I went there on a field trip last year and got to walk along a section. It was awesome getting to see such an iconic place that's so important to Chinese history and culture.
Speaking of culture, China has such a rich heritage going back thousands of years. We learn a lot about ancient China and its dynasties, philosophers, inventions and more in school. One of the coolest things from way back is the Terracotta Warriors - an entire army of detailed life-size clay soldier statues buried underground for over 2,000 years! They were discovered in 1974 near the city of Xi'an. Each warrior statue is unique with different facial features and everything. So awesome!
Then there are China's natural wonders like the incredible karst mountain landscapes. Places like Guilin and Yangshuo are famous for their tall, skinny hills with amazing curves and grooves carved by rivers and rain over millions of years. They
kind of look like giant rocks sticking straight up out of the ground! You can even go on boat tours along the rivers to get a closer look at the beautiful scenery. The karst mountains made of limestone are one of the most photographed places in China.
Another thing that makes China amazing is all the diverse minority groups that live here. China is a huge country with over 1.4 billion people from 56 different ethnic groups! Each one has its own traditions, clothing styles, art, dances, food and more. At school we learn dances and songs from different minority cultures. My favorite is the colorful costumes and lively dances of the Miao people. During holidays, there are big festivals where minority groups perform and share their customs. It's so much fun!
And then...there's THE FOOD! Ohhh man, Chinese food is just the best. Each region has its own flavors and specialties. In the north, they have yummy noodle dishes like zhajiangmian. In Sichuan, the food is super spicy and delicious with lots of numbing peppercorns. In Guangdong, they have the most awesome dim sum with steamed little bundles of shrimp dumplings, barbecue pork buns and other snacky things. My mouth is watering just thinking about it! Chinese food is handsdown my favorite.
Of course, I can't talk about China without mentioning the big, modern cities like Beijing and Shanghai. They have loooong histories too but also have shiny skyscrapers, busy streets, bright lights and all the latest technology. The metros and high-speed rail are so convenient for getting around quickly. And the city skylines at night are just glorious! I'll never forget watching the spectacular fireworks displays over the futuristic skyscrapers for Chinese New Year. It was breathtaking.
Wow, I've talked a lot but there's just so much amazing stuff about China to share! From the vast landscapes and natural scenery, to the deep cultural traditions, brilliant ancient inventions, and rapid modern development, China really is an endlessly fascinating place. I feel so lucky to have been born here and be able to experience it all. China is bursting with beauty, history, diversity, progress and some of the most delectable food on the planet. I hope you all get the chance to visit one day and see the wonders of my beautiful home country for yourselves!

Hi everyone! My name is Lily and I'm 10 years old. Today I want to tell you all about the beautiful country I live in - China! It's such an amazing place with so many cool things to see and do. Get ready for an awesome adventure!
First up, let's talk about the incredible natural wonders of China. We have the highest mountains in the world like Mount Everest and K2. Can you imagine how tiny you'd feel standing next to those huge peaks? They're like skyscrapers but even taller! And the views from up there must be out of this world.
Then we've got amazing rivers like the Yangtze - it's over 3,900 miles long! That's so far, if you tried to walk the whole length it would take months and months. The Yangtze has cool stuff like the Three Gorges Dam too, which is a massive dam that generates tons of electricity.
Oh and let's not forget about the beautiful landscapes of China! We've got deserts, forests, grasslands, you name it. One of my favorites is the rainbow mountains in Zhangye with all their colorful rocks and patterns. It looks like a totally different planet! And the rice terraces down south are awesome too - they look like giant green stairs carved into the sides of the hills.
Alright, next up are China's incredible cities! The biggest one is Shanghai, which has over 24 million people. That's like 100 times more people than there are in my whole hometown! Shanghai has the coolest skyline with buildings that look like spaceships. And then you've got the historical city of Xi'an with
its ancient city walls that you can actually walk along. How cool is that?
Beijing is another awesome city that's home to places like the Forbidden City, which used to be the palace for chinese emperors. It has almost 10,000 rooms! I can't even imagine getting lost in there. And no trip to Beijing is complete without seeing the Great Wall. It's so massive that you can actually see it from space. Now that's epic!
Chinese culture is just as awesome as the cities and nature. We've got amazing festivals like Chinese New Year where everywhere is decorated in red and families get together to eat dumplings and watch fireworks. Lunar New Year is seriously the best time of year!
Then there's incredible stuff like kung fu, which originated in China. Martial arts masters can do the craziest kicks and flips. I'm learning a bit of kung fu myself and it's so much fun! We've also got delicious food from dumplings to noodles to amazing desserts. My favorites are shaved ice bowls with all sorts of toppings. Yum!
Chinese traditions go back thousands of years to ancient times. There are legends about mythical creatures like dragons
that could control water and weather. Can you imagine seeing a real life dragon? I'd be so excited but also a little scared!
We've also got cool inventions that came from China like paper, printing, the compass for navigation, and even drinks like tea. The ancient Chinese were like super geniuses or something!
Okay, I could go on forever about all the awesome things China has from the Terracotta Warriors to our many minority cultures and traditions. But I'm running out of time so I'll end by saying this: China is truly a beautiful and incredible country. I feel so lucky to live here and experience everything it has to offer. From the huge cities to the relaxing nature, there's something for everyone! China is the best!

My Beautiful China
Hi everyone! My name is Xiaoming and I'm going to tell you all about the amazing beauty of my home country, China. China is a massive place with so many different landscapes, cultures, foods, and more. I've been lucky enough to travel around quite a bit with my family and I want to share some of my favorite parts of this incredible land.
Let's start in the north with the stunning mountains and forests. One of my favorite places is called Zhangjiajie. It's a national forest park with these crazy tall pillars of rock poking up through the misty clouds. The tallest one is over 1,000 meters high! Walking along the trails, you feel like you're in a fairytale world. Monkeys swing through the trees and waterfalls tumble down the cliffs. It's just breathtaking.
Another magical mountain area is Huangshan or the Yellow Mountains. Jagged granite peaks are surrounded by wispy clouds giving the whole place a mystical feel. I love the bright yellow pine trees that grow on the slopes. At sunrise and sunset, the rocks glow orange and red. Ancient Buddhist temples are tucked away in the mountains too. It's easy to see why poets and artists have been inspired by Huangshan's beauty for centuries.
While we're talking about mountains, I've got to mention the Himalayas along China's southwestern borders. Those soaring peaks are permanently capped in snow and ice. The Himalayan ranges in places like Tibet and Xinjiang are home to diverse ethnic minority groups like Tibetans and Uighurs with their own unique cultures. I'll never forget watching Tibetan monks dressed in maroon robes doing sacred masked dances at a
monastery festival. Their dances and costumes were so vibrant and meaningful.
Heading east from the mountains, the scenery changes to the dry, sweeping deserts of Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang. Massive sand dunes roll across the land sculpted by the fierce winds. Can you imagine surfing down a giant sand dune? I've tried it and let me tell you, it's not easy! But it's crazy fun. The silent deserts at night are perfect for stargazing too. I've never seen so many bright stars in the inky black sky.
Moving on to central China, there's the incredible karst landscape around Guilin and Yangshuo. Thousand of slender limestone pillars are scattered across the region, soaring up from the flat green plains. When the early morning fog lifts, it reveals a magical, ethereal scene that looks like it should exist in a dream. Taking a bamboo raft along the winding rivers is one of the most peaceful experiences ever. You float past traditional villages where centuries-old traditions still continue.
And let's not forget about China's abundant rivers and lakes! The Yangtze is Asia's longest river, flowing over 6,000 kilometers across the entire country. Cruising down the Yangtze through the stunning Three Gorges is mind-blowing. I was dwarfed by towering cliffs and misty peaks. In the summer, the tropical lakes
of Jiuzhaigou in Sichuan are a colorful wonderland. The water is the most amazing shades of blue and green from the minerals. It honestly looks unreal!
Of course, China has fascinating cities too, with a blend of modern and ancient architecture. The Forbidden City in Beijing is one of the largest palace complexes ever built with dozens of temples, halls and gates all made of intricately carved wood and stone. It's like walking through an imperial dream. The Bund waterfront in Shanghai showcases the city's futuristic towers reflected in the Huangpu River. At night, the entire area lights up into a glistening wonderland.
No description of China's beauty would be complete without talking about the food! Each province has its own unique and delicious cuisine. In Sichuan, the food is insanely spicy with heaps of dried red chilies. But it's so flavorful and rich, like nothing you've ever tasted. Up north in Beijing, they make the most incredible dumplings stuffed with pork and vegetables. I can eat them by the dozen! For dessert, you've got to try tanghulu - those candied fruit skewers from Beijing's night markets. Biting into the crunchy, sticky hawthorn candies is heavenly.
Everywhere you go in China, there are different customs, languages, clothing, art and beliefs. It's an endless kaleidoscope
of cultures. And yet, there's a shared sense of pride that unites everyone as Chinese. We have such a deep, rich history going back thousands of years to the amazing ancient civilizations. Their innovation, art, and ideas spread knowledge across Asia and the entire world.
China is honestly one of the most diverse, beautiful, and fascinating places on Earth. From the highest peaks to the deepest canyons, from neon cities to ancient villages, there is magic and wonder at every turn. Each region has its own unique charms just waiting to be discovered. I feel so fortunate to call this incredible land my home. China truly is a dazzling jewel and I can't wait to explore more of its many treasures.

My Beautiful China
Hello everyone! Today I want to talk about my beautiful home country of China. China is a amazing place with so many wonderful things to see and do. Let me tell you all about it!
China is a very big country, the third largest in the world after Russia and Canada. It has over 1.4 billion people living here, which is more people than any other country. With so many people, you can imagine how many big, crowded cities we have!
The capital Beijing has over 21 million people. Shanghai has 24 million. That's a lot of people in one place!
Even though the cities are huge, China also has wide open spaces in the countryside. We have soaring mountain ranges like the Himalayas, the Kunlun Mountains, and the Tian Shan range. The highest mountain in all of China is Mount Everest which is 29,029 feet tall! Can you imagine trying to climb all the way up there? Between the mountains there are vast deserts like the Gobi Desert. It's one of the largest deserts in the world covering a huge area.
While parts of China are dry and mountainous, we also have lush forests, winding rivers, and beautiful lakes. The Yangtze River is the longest river in all of Asia at over 3,900 miles long. The endangered giant pandas make their homes in the bamboo forests of Central China. With their cute black and white fur, they are one of the most beloved animals in the world.
China's landscape includes grasslands, wetlands, tall cliffs, waterfalls, caves, beaches, and islands too. Basically, we have just about every type of geography you can imagine packed into one country! That's what makes the natural scenery here so breathtaking. From the karst rock formations in Guilin to the
rainbow mountains in Zhangye, there are amazing sights everywhere you look.
China also has a very long and fascinating history going back thousands of years. The ancient Chinese invented many important things that are still used today like paper, gunpowder, the compass, and printing. We built remarkable structures like the Great Wall of China, the Forbidden City in Beijing, and the Terracotta Warriors. Important ideas like Taoism, Confucianism, and Buddhism also originated here.
Over this long history, China developed a rich culture with its own customs, arts, food, clothing, and more. Classical Chinese arts like calligraphy, painting, music, poetry, and dance are renowned worldwide. Our foods from different regions like Sichuan, Hunan, Guangdong, and Shandong are delicious with flavors you can't find anywhere else. Beautiful clothing like the qipao dress, embroidered shoes, and silk robes are iconic symbols of China. Traditions like the Spring Festival, Moon Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, and more have been celebrated for centuries.
We have a lot to be proud of when it comes to our history, culture, and natural wonders. Even our modern cities like Hong Kong and Shenzhen are extremely impressive with their towering
skyscrapers and advanced technology. China continues to grow and progress in many ways.
At the same time, we must make sure to protect our environment and cultural heritage as China develops. We can't let our pollution levels get too high or allow our ancient traditions to be forgotten. We need to strike the right balance between economic growth and preservation.
I feel very lucky to be part of a country with such an amazing past and so much potential for the future. From our highest mountains to our lowest valleys, from our oldest temples to our newest bullet trains, China has incredible beauty everywhere you look. My Beautiful China
Hello everyone! My name is Xiaoming and I'm 10 years old. Today I want to tell you all about the amazing beauty of my home country, China. China is a really really big place with so many pretty sights to see. Just thinking about it makes me super excited!
In the north of China, there are huge mountains reaching up to the sky. One of the most famous is called Mount Huangshan or the Yellow Mountains. My dad took me hiking there last year and I was blown away by how steep and tall the mountain peaks were. They looked like jagged dragon's teeth against the clouds! The trees clinging to the sides of the cliffs were all twisted into amazing shapes by the wind. I felt like a tiny little ant exploring a magical world of rocks and trees.
Further north in China is a region called Inner Mongolia. That's where you'll find huge sandy deserts that stretch as far as the eye can see. The dunes there can reach taller than houses! I went camping with my uncle in the desert and we rode camels and slept under millions of bright stars at night. During the day, the sand was scorching hot but beautiful golden waves rolled across the dunes. It was like an endless ocean of sand.
In the southwest part of China are the highest mountains in the world - the Himalayas! The most famous peak there is Mount Everest on the border of Nepal. Even though I haven't been there yet, I've seen so many breathtaking pictures. The snowy mountaintops look like a sparkling frozen ocean above the clouds. There are also super cool blue glaciers and turquoise
lakes formed by glacial melting. Someday I hope to go see Mount Everest with my own eyes.
China has so many other pretty natural wonders too. Like the incredible rivers that weave across the whole country. The mighty Yangtze is over 3,900 miles long! That's almost as long as the radius of planet Earth. The Yangtze flows through gorgeous deep valleys with steep cliffs on both sides. I went on a boat cruise there last summer and it felt like floating through a magical canyon world.
And we can't forget about the amazing karst landscape in places like Guilin and Yangshuo. Karst means there are crazy tall skinny pillars of rock sticking straight up out of the ground! They look like mountain thumbs poking through the surface. With their lush green vegetation draped over them, the karst pillars create the most enchanting fairy tale scenes. I'm always daydreaming about exploring their twisting caves and tunnels.
Aside from the natural wonders, China's ancient history has left us with man-made marvels too. Like the awe-inspiring Forbidden City in Beijing which was the royal palace for emperors long ago. It has nearly 1000 buildings with bright yellow glazed roofs that shine like gold. Wandering through the temple halls makes me feel like a little emperor myself!
But probably the most famous sight in all of China is the Great Wall. This massive wall winds for thousands of miles across deserts, grasslands, and mountains from east to west. Just imagining how long it took to build and how many bricks were used makes my mind spin! The best part is seeing the Great Wall snake across the hilltops like a powerful stone dragon.
I feel so lucky to live in a country with this much amazing nature and history everywhere I look. Thinking about all the wonders of China makes me want to jump up and down with joy!
