As is shown in the picture above, the student is struggling hard to balance hiss studies and hobbies. He wishes to concentrate on his studies but meanwhile, he just can't tear himself away from his favorite hobbies like football, computer games and music. In fact, he is not alone among us students in dealing with such a problem.

Hobbies are very important to a person, without which life wouldn't be as colorful as it should be, but they also require time and devotion. As students, whose main task should be gaining knowledge, we must know which is the more important thing to do in different life periods. Otherwise in the future we would regret having spent too much time on them. So we can't allow ourselves to be misled by hobbies and should always put studies first. Only when we strike a balance between studies and hobbies can we truly live a happy life

Should We Ignore Quality Education?

As is vividly shown in the picture above, a child is struggling for full marks in school subjects, which is strongly supported by his family members. But he ignores the more important aspects such as psychological quality and moral character.

This picture mirrors a common social phenomenon setting us thinking. Academic achievements are not all that a student needs. Without a good psychological quality, we often fail to face ups and downs in life bravely. Besides, we can’t make contributions to society with a low moral standard.

Therefore, immediate measures must be taken to reverse(扭转)the misleading(误导的) trend(趋势). Students and parents are supposed to take a correct attitude towards grades. Meanwhile, it’s necessary that the Department of Education stress the significance of quality education and above all put it into practice.

The cartoon portrays a vivid picture in which there is a boy, a boat, an empty net, and a school of fish(一群鱼). To be more specific, the major character, using a telescope(望远镜), is struggling to search for some fish with great effort, neglecting the ones swimming around him. Ironically(讽刺性地), his efforts do not pay off simply because of his wrong aim and attitude.

What the story tries to convey is that we high school students should not set a goal out of our reach, ignoring the attainable and accomplishable goal. The boy would harvest more with less hardship only if he abandoned the distant goal and turned back to focus on the fish around the boat. Such a phenomenon seems fairly common in our daily life. Sometimes, we teenagers tend to stick to a target which is beyond our grasp when faced with problems, which will surely lead us to a wrong way and finally failure.

In conclusion, it is highly recommended that practical aims be set in our life. Only when we realize the utter importance of it can we lead a successful life.
