本篇阅读材料中蕴含了丰富的文化内容和情感教育内容,实现了工具性和人文性的统一。

课前学生已经学过形容词比较级的基本用法,并能用形容词比较级比较地点和地理特征。

在此基础上,通过学习本课,学生被期待增加相关话题的单词量和相关话题的表达方式。

通过本课时的教学内容与设计预测,学生能够巩固形容词比较级的用法,提高运用语言的能力和获取文本信息的能力。

II.学情分析:本课的教学对象为八年级的学生,年龄在十三四岁,学生抽象思维能力有了一些发展,但对初中生来说,这种抽象思维仍属经验型,还需要感性经验的直接支持。

部分学生比较乐于参与各种英语实践活动,在小组活动中积极与他人合作,互相帮助,共同完成学习任务。

在前面的学习中学生已经掌握了形容词比较级的基本用法,能够使用比较级进行比较。

学生基本能读懂浅易的阅读材料,但缺乏对于阅读策略的掌握和运用,学生的语言运用能力和获取文本信息的能力也有待进一步加强与提升。

III.教学目标1.学生掌握并会使用以下词汇及句型谈论城市与国家并进行比较:①单词:north, south, west, east, university, island, low, mountain, umbrella②词组:home town, be famous for, in the…of, have a population of, be part of.2.学生能够提高捕捉关键信息的能力,对语篇的理解能力,及在英语学习中的交际和合作能力。

3.学生能够了解英国两个城市Cambridge,London以及England的基本地理信息,同时提升对自己家乡合肥的热爱之情。

面向全体学生满足不同学生的需求。升入八年级后发现已经有一部分学生的基础知识打得不牢,甚至有的已经产生厌学的情绪。因此,从开始对学生就该有个全面的了解,不管学习成绩高低课堂上都要照顾到,我在每节课堂上都要叫上几名成绩差的学生读读单词或课文。让他们找到自信,以后不断的增加难度,逐步提高他们的成绩。千万不能冷落这些学生,否则他们也会失去信心而放弃努力。当然对于基础好的学生一定要求熟练的背诵课文,增加英语的练习量。

要通过对Tong家乡的分析对比自己的家乡,学生或者列出很多要点,显得散乱,利用思维导图会很好地解决这一问题。

本班共有32位学生,女生只有8位,绝大部分是男生,且区县学生占据绝大部分,地方口音较浓,造成部分同学表达不清晰流利。

重点难点教学重点:学习掌握本单元出现的方位词汇来表示方位和位置。

利用指南针和地图,先从单词到短语,再到句子逐步学习。

教学难点:写一篇欢迎词:欢迎外宾到我校参观并向外宾介绍自己的家乡—重庆。

以文本为参考,利用思维导图,帮助学生理清写作思路并提供重庆的基本信息,降低学生写作难度。
