Qingdao is my hometown and I absolutely love it there! Let me tell you all about this amazing place.First of all, Qingdao is right on the Yellow Sea, so it has loads of beautiful beaches. My favorite is Badaguan Scenic Area where you can walk along the boardwalk and see the crashing waves. The sand is soft and golden. People swim, sunbathe, fly kites, and have picnics on the beach. My favorite is Laoshan Mountain which has beautiful forests, waterfalls, and hiking trails. You can take a cable car up to the top and look out over Qingdao and the sea. There's a Taoist temple area too with ancient buildings and statues. It's a very peaceful place.I also love all the delicious food in Qingdao besides just seafood. There are restaurants serving amazing dumplings, noodle dishes, hotpot, barbecue, and more. My mouth waters just thinking about the juicy shaomai dumplings from Shiaomai Street and the salty pretzels you can get from street vendors. For dessert, you have to try the famous Qingdao sweet baked tarts.Overall, Qingdao is an amazing place with cool history, gorgeous beaches, yummy food, great beer, and fun events. It has a little bit of everything! Although parts of it are very modern, it still maintains its historic charm and laid-back coastal vibe. Ifeel so lucky to have grown up in such a special city.
