In the past, it was not uncommon to see a couple of young people have their first kid in their early 20s. This is no longer the case. Nowadays, both men and women have to work to cover increasing costs of living. Moreover, due to globalization and booming population, modern people have to compete with qualified job applications/applicants. So, this intense social rivalry is one of the root causes of why young couples are less likely to have children in their early age.

Of course, this issue is bringing some negative effects to both family life and society. Companies who main busiess focused on providing products and services to infants and toddlers will have less revenue and eventually bankcrupt, if this phenomenon/trend continues. Also, it can be seen that one day, the society is lack of workforce, which will influence the development of a country. Even more appalling, this trend will accelerate the development of aging population.

Another important factor contributing to this phenomenon is the advanced technology. For example, smart phones and the internet help people finish their jobs efficiently on one hand, but on the other hand they are totally obsessed with their phones. Too much distractions occupie these young lovers’ energy and therefore they are less willing to give brith at their young age.
