Soon computers and other machines will be able to remember you by looking at your eyes! The program works because everyone’s eyes are different. So in the future you won’t have to r emember a
number when you want to use a machine or take money out of a bank. You’ll
just have to look at the machine and it will be able to tell who you are.
The eye-recognition (眼睛识别) program is already being tested in shops
and banks in the USA, Britain and France. Soon, this technology (技术) will
change all other ways of finding out who people are.
However, scientists are working on other systems. Machines will soon be able to know you from the shape of your face or hands or even your smell! We already have machines that can tell who you are from your voice or the mark made by your fingers.
Eye-recognition is better than other kinds because your eyes don’t change as you get o lder, or get dirty like hands or fingers. And even twins have different eyes, so the program can be up to 94%correct,
depending on how good the technology is. Some programs may only be right 51%of the time. In Britain, it was found that 91%of people who had tried it said that they liked the idea of eye-recognition.
In the future your computer will be looking at you in the eye. So smile!
59. What is the advantage of using the eye-recognition program?
A. You needn’t use a machine.
B. You needn’t remember a number.
C. You needn’t look at the machine.
D. You needn’t take some money with you.
60. How does the eye-recognition program work?
A. You type in your number.
B. You show your ID card.
C. You look at the machine.
D. You say your name.
61.Why can the eye-recognition program be up to 94%correct?
A. Because eyes hardly change.
B. Because hands or fingers can get dirty.
C. Because people like the idea of the program.
D. Because the program is widely used around the world.
62. Which recognition program has been already in use?
A. Remembering eyes.
B. Remembering smells.
C. Remembering fingerprints.
D. Remembering the shape of faces.

It’s Friday evening. My daughters, 3 and 9, sigh(叹息) when I gently take the iPads away from their laps. One by one, our screens are turned off. We light the candles and sit down to have a big meal.
Most people in our lives know they will not be able to contact us by using computer or moblie phones for 24 hours. And so it has gone, every week for three years. We call it our ―Technology Shabbat(科技安息日)" which lasts from sunset on Friday to sunset on Saturday.
I first understood the importance of disconnecting in 2008, when my father was told that he had got brain cancer. Some days he would have only one good hour, and I wasn’t willing to be distur bed when I was with him, so I’d turn off my mobile phone.
Soon after, encouraged by National Day of Unplugging(全国断网断电日) on March 1st, my husband and I decided to unplug for one full day every week.
During our ―Technology Shabbats‖, time slows. Our Saturday s now feel like mini-vacations. We drive our car or ride our bike. We, with our kids, work in the garden, play board games and cook meals. I feel more balanced. I feel like a better mother, wife and person.
Keeping a balance between the good and the bad of technology is my lasting state. The technology we’ve created makes it possible for us to share knowledge and take in carious ideas all over the world. But the technology also take something away from us. When we stay up late at night linking (连接) from website to website or sending messages or e-mailing, we click again, and again, and again until we’ve overloaded (超负荷的).
When we rush into the time full of high technology, it's necessary for us to pay attention to what we
are doing online and when we should go off.
I will always remember the most important thing in my family: ―Technology Shabbat".
63. When is ―Techtwhgy Shabbat' in the writer's family?

65. What do the writers family NOT do during their ―Technology Shubbats‖?

B. They light the candles and sit down to have a big meal.
C. They work in the garden, play board games and cook meals.
D. They stay up late at night linking from website to website.
66. What's the main idea of this passage?

C. People need to stay away from technology properly.
D. People had better not send messages, e-mail or chat online.

These schoolboys turned up for classes in skirts – to beat a ban (禁令) on shorts.
The 17-strong group of Year 10 boys raised
eyebrows when they were seen in the morning
walking around the school in borrowed skirts.
Protester (抗议者) Tyrone Evelyn, 15, said the
group, from Whitchurch High School in Cardiff,
would continue fighting for a change.
He said: ―It’s just right for the weather - we
don’t want to be hot and bothered.
―Over the last few days I’ve had a few
headaches and skin irritation(刺激) because I’ve been too hot.
―Girls can wear skirts, so I don’t see why we can’t wear shorts. It’s a reasonable protest(抗议).‖
Tyrone and his friends wore trousers to school with skirts hidden in their bags after they guessed some teachers had got wind of their protest, which they planned on Facebook.
They then hurried into the water closet and changed, before taking to the school corridors shouting, ―We want to wear shorts‖.
Tyrone’s mum Andrea John, 51, said she would be happy to buy school shorts, adding: ―It should be optional to wear three-quarter length shorts. It would cost exactly the same as if they wore trousers.‖
The boys’ protest comes a month after train drivers in Sweden made international headl ines by wearing skirts to work to protest against a policy that banned shorts.
Train company Arriva has since given in and changed its policy to say all their drivers can wear trousers, shorts or skirts.
But it seems the protest was short-lived and came to an immediate end when the boys were marched into the headmaster’s office.
Despite rumours that the pupils had been sent home, head teacher Huw Jones-Williams said no one had been punished.
He said: ―We had a conversation with some boys this morning and they have worn trousers.‖
67. Boys wear skirts to school_______.

A. He was bothered.
B. The weather was hot.

69. What is the meaning of the underlined phrase ―got wind of‖ in Paragraph 7?
A. got away from

C. called for
D. heard about
70. We can learn from the text that_______.

第三节书面表达(共30分)
My junior middle school life has come to an end. During the three years, not only did I have happy time, but I had kinds of problems. My biggest problem was that I used to be shy. Sometimes I really didn’t know whom I should ask for help when I was in trouble.
First, I learned how to communicate with others and make as many friends as possible. Then when I was in trouble, I asked my classmates or friends for help because we were the same age and we could understand each other easily. Besides, I also told my teachers or parents about my trouble and asked for their help. They were full of love and had rich experience.
Now, I am more outgoing than before. I can get along well with people around me.
