交际的定义(Definition of Communication)

Communication may be defined as that which happens whenever someone responds to the behavior or the residue of the behavior of another person. 交际是一个（或多个人）对另一个人（或多个人）的行为或行为遗迹作出了反应。

1）Culture with a big C ( large C culture) :

the attribute of man (关于人类的一切特征)

2) Culture with a small C ( small C culture) :

life way of a population ( 一个民族的生活方式）

Cultural knowledge information refers to the knowledge that does not directly influence the process and result of communication. 知识文化

2. cultural communication information

Cultural communication information refers to the knowledge that is necessary for successful intercultural communication. 交际文化

Definition of Culture :Culture is the unique style and custom which a nation forms in the history of its own development.

跨文化交际学具有多学科性，对它影响最大、与它关系最密切的有四个学科，即文化人类学、社会心理学、社会语言学和传播学。（胡文仲，1992：7）(cultural anthropology, social psychology, social linguistics, communication)

跨文化交际学的研究内容

What : What differences are there in the behaviors of people from different cultural backgrounds? Why: Why do the differences exist?

How: How should the communicators deal with the differences so as to communicate with each other successfully?

学习难点：

1、“行为遗迹”指的是什么？

2、“单向交际”指的是什么？

3、“民族中心主义(ethnocentrism)”指的是什么？

4、如何理解“文化定型(stereotype)”?

5、“角色规定”指的是什么？如何理解课本中与之相关的例子？

一个人即使只对另一个人的“行为遗迹”作出反应，交际也就发生了。

所谓单向交际就是指只有反应者的反应，而未给行为源提供反馈信息的交际。

民族中心主义(ethnocentrism)：

以自己文化的概念系统和价值观念来解释和评价所有其它群体及其环境和交际

Ethnocentrism is a kind of psychological trend ,that is to interpret or to judge all other groups , their environments and their communication according to the categories and values of our own culture. 民族中心主义，民族中心论

culture stereotype : 人们对另一民族或国家的成员的简单化看法，我们应充分认识“文化定型”的局限性

Stereotyping has its practical uses and limitations, because it helps us better understand what appears to be a mess and at the same time any generalization is very often an overgeneralization.

角色规定：在特定的文化中，有些特定的事规定由特定的人来做。不了解特定文化对特定角色的规定，跨文化交际就难免会出现矛盾。

第二章英美文化与中国文化微观巡视

“Micro Analysis" of Chinese Culture and British & American Culture

主要内容：对英美文化与中国文化的种种差异进行对比评析。

知识点：

1、中国与英美国家中家庭、学校、社会氛围的不同

2、中英口头言语交际方面如称呼、介绍、道歉、致谢等等的差异以及差异产生的原因。

3、中英书面言语交际如词汇、句法、语篇等等方面的差异及其产生的原因。
