一场战争的到来，并不是意味能给这个国家带来幸福，大多是残酷的事实。

不管是世界大战，还是反恐战。
说来说去，还不就是图一个“利”。
中国的领土广大，为此遭受日本人的侵略，可今天日本人却光明正大的说是为了自卫：伊拉克因为国家中有大量的石油，石油是世界上最值钱的东西。
美国人为了得到大量的石油，攻打伊拉克，而且还华丽的说是为了打击恐怖份子的组织。

第二次世界的大战结束后，世界出现了和平景象，人们从战争的苦难中进入了和平时期，深感和平来之不易，世界各国人民都深切希望今后再也不要有战争出现，因此1949年4月20日世界保卫和平大会第一次会议开幕，第一次大会于1949年4月20日至25日在巴黎和布拉格同时举行。
1949年4月20日，世界保卫和平大会第一次会议开幕：
第二次在战后，冷战兴起，威胁居民的和平生活。
一些国际组织和着名人士发起召集世界保卫和平大会，反对侵略和战争政策，要求
无条件禁止原子武器和大规模毁灭性武器。
第一次大会于1949年4月20日至25日在巴黎和布拉格同时举行。
出席大会的有来自72个国家的2千多名代表。
大会通过了《世界保卫和平大会宣言》、《告世界人民书》等10多项文件，并选出常设委员会。
1952年12月，为祝贺在维也纳召开的世界人民和平大会，法国名画家毕加索又献出了一幅新的作品--一只和平鸽。
它给了我们一个新的象征，表示出全世界人民争取和平的斗争达到了一个更高的阶段。
这是毕加索所画的第三幅和平鸽。
第一幅是在一九四九年四月，当第一届拥护世界和平大会召开的时候，他画了一只恬静的鸽子，表示出爱好和平人民的纯朴的尊严的意志。
第二幅是在一九五○年九月，他又画了一只鸽子献给第二届世界保卫和平大会，这就是飞翔在世界各地的和平鸽，它已经不是恬静地停在那里，而是展翅飞翔的了。
当1952年12月世界人民和平大会再次召开的时候，毕加索又献出了第三幅和平鸽。
为了纪念第一次世界和平大会的召开，苏联的雕塑家叶夫根尼;武切季奇创作了一尊“铸剑为犁”的青铜雕像，雕塑中的一手拿着锤子，另一只手拿着要改铸为犁的剑，象征着人类要求消灭战争，把毁灭人类的武器变为创造的工具，以造福全人类。
这座青铜雕像于1959年由当时的苏联政府赠送给联合国留作永久的纪念，至今仍然摆放在联合国花园内与其他国家赠送给联合国的雕塑装点着联合国大厦前的广场花园。
此外中国也有成语“铸剑为犁”销熔武器以制造务农器具。
