For many teenagers, a job is a way to earn a little extra money. For me, it is more than that.At the age of 16, I was offered my very first job as a shopgirl in a clothing store. Onthe first day, my manager was training me how to fold and organize platform afterplatform of clothes. The work seemed overwhelming, and everything had to be done in an accurate way. I got so impatient because I couldn’t get it right the first couple of times. After about ten tries, I had the clothes folded perfectly. Then it took me thirty minutes toget them all looking uniform. Now, I fold and organize clothes every day, and I’m able todo them well. Through this experience, I’ve learned to be patient.56.What was the author’s first job? (no more than 5 words)57.What is the meaning of the underlined word in Para. 2? (no more than 3 words)本题难度不大,但是得到满分却有点困难. A shopgirl in a clothing store. Shopgirl in a clothing store 。

A(2017·河东区一模)Do you ever wish for a little more time to do everything you need to do?Well,on July 1 you’ll be getting it—but only one more second. On July 1 at exactly 7:59:59 a.m.Beijing time (or on June 30 at 23:59:59 UTC,Coordinated Universal Time),the world’s atomic(原子的) clocks will pause for a single second,or,more precisely, change to the unusual time of 7:59:60,according to .The addition of a leap second(闰秒),announced by the Paris Observatory,is to keep our clocks in time with the slowing of Earth’s rotation(旋转) and astronomical time as measured by the sun.Just one extra second could cause big problems and affect the way computers and websites work, however. When the last leap second was added back in 2012,more than a few websites had some trouble. As reported by ,popular sites like the community website Reddit crashed when the leap second was added. For Reddit, the problem was eventually found to be with a Linux system that got confused when it checked the network time and found an extra second.Speaking to Wired about the problem back in 2012,Linux creator Linus Torvalds commented:“Almost every time we have a leap second,we find something. It’s really annoying, because it’s code(代码) that is almost never used, and thus not tested by users under their normal conditions.”Companies have had to think of their own solutions, and Google’s “leap smear”may be the best-known example. As company engineer Christopher Pascoe explains in a blog post, companies usually try to fix the problem by turning back the clocks by one second at the end of the day so that they play that second again. However,Pascoe believes this creates problems. He asked:“What happens?Does e-mail that comes in during that second get stored correctly?”Google has a solution:Cut the extra second into milliseconds and then put these tiny amounts of time into the system throughout the day.“This means that when it became time to add an extra second at midnight,”says Pascoe.“Our clocks have already taken this into account over the course of the day.”For many companies without Google’s money, however, the leap second will likelystill cause some crashes.Don’t worry, though—at least it won’t last long!1.Why do we need to add a leap second?A.The world’s atomic clocks are set to do so.B.To keep in time with the world’s computers.C.To keep atomic clocks in time with the slowing of Earth’s rotation.D.To record the changes to astronomical time.

industry isn't stopping there.Food productionWith a 3D printer,a cook can print complicated chocolate sculptures and beautiful pieces for decoration on a wedding cake. Not everybody can do that﹣it takes years of experience, but a printer makes it easy.A restaurant in Spain uses a Foodini to "re﹣create forms and pieces" of food that are "exactly the same," freeing cooks to complete other tasks. In another restaurant, all of the dishes and desserts it serves are 3D﹣printed,rather than farm to table.12Sustainability(可持续性)The global population is expected to grow to 9.6 billion by 2050,and some analysts estimate that food production will need to be raised by 50 percent to maintain current levels.Sustainability is becoming a necessity.3D food printing could probably contribute to the solution. Some experts believe printers could use hydrocolloids(水解胶体)from plentiful renewables like algae(藻类)and grass to replace the familiar ingredients(烹饪原料).3D printing can reduce fuel use and emissions.Grocery stores of the future might stock "food" that lasts years on end, freeing up shelf space and reducing transportation and storage requirements.NutritionFuture 3D food printers could make processed food healthier.Hod Lipson,a professor at Columbia University, said,"Food printing could allow consumer to print food with customized nutritional content, like vitamins. So instead of eating a piece of yesterday 's bread from the supermarket, you'd eat something baked just for you on demand."ChallengesDespite recent advancements in 3D food printing, the industry has many challenges to overcome.Currently, most ingredients must be changed to a paste (糊状物)before a printer can use them, and the printing process is quite time﹣consuming, because ingredients interact with each other in very complex ways.On top of that, most of the 3D food printers now are restricted to dry ingredients, because meat and milk products may easily go bad. Some experts are skeptical about 3D food printers, believing they are better suited for fast food restaurants than homes and high﹣end restaurants.13(1)What benefit does 3D printing bring to food production?A.It helps cooks to create new dishes.B.It saves time and effort in cooking.C.It improves the cooking conditions.D.It contributes to restaurant decorations.(2)What can we learn about 3D food printing from Paragraph 3?A.It solves food shortages easily.B.It quickens the transportation of food.C.It needs no space for the storage of food.D.It uses renewable materials as sources of food.(3)According to Paragraph 4,3D﹣printed food.A.is more available to consumersB.can meet individual nutritional needsC.is more tasty than food in supermarketsD,can keep all the nutrition in raw materials(4)What is the main factor that prevents 3D food printing from spreading widely?A.The printing process is complicated.14B.3D food printers are too expensive.C.Food materials have to be dry.D.Some experts doubt 3D food printing.(5)What could be the best title of the passage?A.3D Food Printing:Delicious New TechnologyB.A New Way to Improve 3D Food PrintingC.The Challenges for 3D Food ProductionD.3D Food Printing:From Farm to Table20.(12.50分)DGive yourself a test.Which way is the wind blowing? How many kinds of wildflowers can be seen from your front door?If your awareness is as sharp as it could be,you'll have no trouble answering these questions. Most of us observed much more as children than we do as adults.A child's day is filled with fascination, newness and wonder.Curiosity gave us all a natural awareness. But distinctions that were sharp to us as children become unclear,we are numb (麻木的)to new stimulation(刺激),new ideas.Relearning the art of seeing the world around us is quite simple, although it takes practice and requires breaking some bad habits. The first step in awakening senses is to stop predicting what we are going to see and feel before it occurs. This blocks awareness. One chilly night when I was hiking15in the Rocky Mountains with some students,I mentioned that we were going to cross a mountain stream. The students began complaining about how cold it would be.We reached the stream, and they unwillingly walked ahead. They were almost knee﹣deep when they realized it was a hot spring.Later they all admitted they'd felt cold water at first.Another block to awareness is the obsession (痴迷)many of us have with naming things.I saw bird watchers who spotted a bird, immediately looked it up in field guides, and said,a "ruby﹣crowned kinglet" and checked it off. They no longer paid attention to the bird and never learned what it was doing. The pressures of "time" and "destination" are further blocks to awareness.I encountered many hikers who were headed to a distant camp﹣ground with just enough time to get there before dark.It seldom occurred to them to wander a bit,to take a moment to see what's around them.I asked them what they'd seen."Oh,a few birds,"they said. They seemed bent on their destinations.Nature seems to unfold to people who watch and wait.Next time you take a walk,no matter where it is,take in all the sights, sounds and sensations.Wander in this frame of mind and you will open a new dimension to your life.(1)According to Paragraph 2,compared with adults, children are more.A.anxious to do wondersB.sensitive to others' feelingsC.likely to develop unpleasant habits16D.eager to explore the world around them(2)What idea does the author convey in Paragraph 3?A.To avoid jumping to conclusions.B.To stop complaining all the time.C.To follow the teacher's advice.D.To admit mistakes honestly.(3)The bird watchers' behavior shows that they.A.are very patient in their observationB.are really fascinated by natureC.care only about the names of birdsD.question the accuracy of the field guides(4)Why do the hikers take no notice of the surroundings during the journey?A.The natural beauty isn't attractive to them.B.They focus on arriving at the camp in time.C.The forest in the dark is dangerous for them.D.They are keen to see rare birds at the destination.(5)In the passage, the author intends to tell us we should.17A.fill our senses to feel the wonders of the worldB.get rid of some bad habits in our daily lifeC.open our mind to new things and ideasD.try our best to protect nature第三部分:写作第一节:阅读表达(满分10分)阅读短文,按照题目要求用英语回答问题.21.(10.00分)Some people live to climb the highest mountains. Some people live only dreaming about it while others live to avoid ever climbing at all.But one thing is certain, all people encounter mountains in their life. When I was a little girl,my family moved to a tiny town at the bottom of a big mountain. One day after school, while exploring the green woods of this magnificent mountain,I almost fell on a set of stairs. What could these steps lead to?Curiosity got the best of me as I knew it would be starting to get dark soon.I started climbing up those strangely mysterious steps.I climbed and climbed. There was nothing but just green bushes and these steps.I had to reach the top! But it was now getting real dark.If I kept going I might not be able to see my way back.My mum would be worried sick if I didn't come home soon.So I ran back home almost in the dark while trying not to get too scared.Anxiously I went to bed dreaming about what I would find at the top of this magical mountain.Could there be a castle up there?Maybe I would find a monster(怪物).Maybe I was taking the risk of never coming back home.Or,18maybe all I would find was absolutely nothing! But something inside me was going to climb that mountain at all cost.I could hardly wait to try this adventure again. Now we live in a world surrounded by the "can't do" attitudes. We all fall down.We all have doubts and regrets.Still we must climb and dream about what's at the top of our mountain.Monsters may appear or the night will fall. But never ever give up on your dream! Never let anyone tell you,"You can't." Dream big and climb high!(1)What made the author start to climb up the stairs to the mountain top?(no more than 5 words)(2)Why did the author hurry back home without reaching the top of the college.whom做宾语,that可以做主语或者宾语,her不能够引导定语从句.故选:C.【点评】定语从句的考查主要就是考查关系词的辨析,关系代词that,which,whose,whom,as,who在句中做主语,宾语,表语或者定语;要分析句子成分,看缺少什么成分,就选用相应的关系词.3.(1.00分)At first Robert wouldn't let his daughter go planets in the universe has always inspired scientists to explore the outer space.()A.advice B.order C.possibility D.invitation【分析】宇宙中其他行星上存在生命的可能性一直激励科学家去探索外层空间.【解答】考查名词的词义辨析.分析可知"that there is life on other planets in the universe "是同位语从句,其先行词就是横线处所填的名词.advice建议;劝告,忠告;order指示;命令;possibility可能,可能性;invitation招待,邀请;请24柬,请帖. 故选:B.【点评】在英语中,出现了have sth done, have sb do sth 与have sb/ sth doing 三25种结构,不少同学对这些结构区分不清,把握不准. We had the machine mended just now. He has had his hair cut. The patient is going to have his temperature taken. 二、have sb do sth" have + sb (宾语)+ do sth (宾语补足语)"意为"让/ 叫/ 使某人做某事". The boss often has them work for 14 hours a day. I'll have someone repair the bike for you.26我会让人为你修理自行车的.Don't forget to have Mr Brown come to our party.(= Don't forget to ask / invite Mr Brown to come to our party.) Don't have the baby crying! Don't have the dog barking much,Lilin. You'd better have your car running slowly. I have my dinner to cook. I have my hair to be cut. I have my hair done this morning. 因此如果是自己做的事情不能用此短语.8.(1.00分)It took him a long time to the skills he needed to become a good dancer.()A.display B.acquire C.teach D.test【分析】他花了很长时间才掌握了成为一名优秀舞蹈演员所需要的技能.【解答】考查动词词义辨析.display 展示;展览;陈列;acquire学到;获得,取得;teach教育;教导;使学会;test测验;考验. 在熟知词义的基础上,再联系句子所表达的含义,从而选出正确的答案.9.(1.00分)The gold medal will be awarded to wins the first place in the bicycle race.()A.whomever B.wherever C.whoever D.whatever【分析】金牌将被授予任何赢得自行车赛第一名的人.【解答】考查宾语从句.分析句子可知,to为介词,其后跟的是宾语从句,从句中缺少动词win的主语,指人应该使用who或whoever,根据句意:金牌将被授予任何赢得自行车赛第一名的人,可知应该使用whoever.28故选:C.【点评】对于这种类型的题目需要根据语境及相关的语法知识选出正确答案,需要考生多积累和总结.10.(1.00分)I can't find my purse.I it in the supermarket yesterday, but I'm not sure.()A.should leave B.must have leftC.might leave D.could have left【分析】我找不到我的钱包了,昨天我可能把它放在超市里,但我不敢肯定.【解答】考查情态动词." 这个结构是近几年高考情态动词的重点和难点.11.(1.00分)Bob thought he couldn't go to the party because he had to write a report, but he went .()29。
