赏析亨利·沃兹沃思·朗费罗（Henry Wadsworth Longfellow， 1807～1882）是19世纪美国最伟大的浪漫主义诗人之一，也是美国最优秀的抒情诗人之一。
他喜欢用英国古典诗歌形式表达新情感、新主题，可谓旧瓶装新酒，老树发新枝。
他的诗语言淳朴，韵律和谐，内容积极向上，因而雅俗共赏，广为流传。

当代作曲家莱特福特《箭与歌》作品剖析高 寒（南京艺术学院，江苏 南京 210023）【摘要】莱特福特Mary Lynn Lightfoot，（1952-）是活跃于美国的当代女性作曲家、合唱音乐教育家及著名的出版商主编。
莱特福特的作品种类以歌乐为主，包含合唱、独唱作品及音乐剧作品等多种形式的音乐。
一九七四年至一九九零年间的教职生涯，为莱特福特累积了许多合唱教学与带团的经验。
直至目前已出版超过两百三十多首作品，持续受邀委托创作，每年皆有新作品出版，并常在美国及加拿大各地担任合唱团的客席指导。
笔者由此分析她创作的当代作品《箭与歌》（The Arrow and the Song），来尝试解读莱特福特创作方面的特点及教学切入的方向。

《箭与歌》一曲原为同声二声部合唱曲，在一九九九年将其改编为女声三声部配置。
莱特福特将此曲献给与她互动相当亲近的好友子女艾利森、艾莉卡及艾蜜莉，做为她们成长过程中的一个回忆。
作品歌词出自朗费罗一八四五年的诗集《布鲁茨的钟楼及其他诗》中，原歌词分为三段，莱特福特在第二段为了乐曲的扩张，增添了一句歌词“谁能追随歌声的飞扬？”（Who can follow the flight of song？），虽打破了诗词原先工整的对仗，但在音乐上因此显得更有层次感。
《箭与歌》是一首写给女声三声部与钢琴的合唱曲，记谱调号为G大调，第三段开始（二十六小节）转至A小调自然小音阶。
拍号为四四拍，全曲并无其他变化拍。
乐曲的上方标示“充满表情地”（Expressively）以及四分音符约等于七十六的拍节器速度，第三段开始速度转为四分音符约等于七十二的拍节器速度，并标示上「更宽广的」（Broader）之表情术语。
