Trapped in burning buildings, they even felt hesitant to scream for help; it just isn’t polite to yell.There are no certain rules written there to force them to do so. But the unwritten rules of decent behaviour, or so-called the social contract, are a stronger force in our lives. You stop because it’s part of a contract we all have with each other and it’s an agreement we live by. We trust each other to honour it. We are more likely to be restrained from doing something bad by the social convention than by any law against.
