Do you know where the 2012 Olympic Games will be held? And which country has the chance? All British people were glad when London was awarded(授予) the Summer Olympic Games. London beat Paris, Moscow, New York and Madrid. So the Games will go back to the British capital for the first time since 1948.

Look! The lovely baby in the picture was born on Jan. 6th, 2005. Much attention was paid to his birth, because he is the symbol(象征) that our national land has 1.3 billion citizens(公民).

John Evans has been in the Guinness Book of Records 29 times! Each time, it was for balancing(使……平衡) things on his head. He has balanced many things on his head: bricks, cans of cola, books, footballs—even a car, and two girls on bicycles.

John was a builder and he often carried bricks on his head when he was building houses. He usually carried around 24 or 25, but in 1997 he stood with 101 bricks on his head.

John first broke a record in 1992, when he balanced 84 milk crates(板条箱). In 2001 he balanced 96 milk crates all on his head! He has been on TV in Britain many times, and in 1998 he was on American TV twice.

The Guinness Book of Records has many different records that people broke in the world. Do you want to read?
