Step1. Lead-in

1. Show a picture about fire and let students discuss about fire.

2. Show more pictures about fire. Learn some new words: burn, smoke, pour, save, rush.

3. Let students answer the question and have a discussion.

Read fast and answer two questions.

1. Who is a brave young man?

2. Was the young man afraid at that moment?

Step3. While-reading

1.Read and answer some questions.

2. Ask students to read the story carefully, then answer more questions. (PPT)

Step4. Post-reading

1. Let Ss finish PartB1.

2. Fill in the blanks of PartB2 and then check the answers.
