Aging Society
• The aging society refers to the population structure model that the proportion of the old population reaches or exceeds a certain level. According to traditional standards of the United Nations,the people over the age of 60 reach 10% of the total population in an area, the new standard is people over 65 years old accounted for 7% of the total population,then regarding the region as entered the aging society.
New Second-child Policy
The Fifth Plenary Session of the 18th Communist Party of china Central Committee(十八届五中全会)which ended on Oct 26, 2015 decided to relax the state’s family planning policy by allowing couples to have second child, government want to slows down the aging speed by this way.
Reason
• As the improvement of living level and medical conditions, average life expectancy is over 70 years, which of developed areas even close to or more than 80 years, increase of aged population directly causes the increase of disabled, further expanded the gapping imbalances between family support ability and demand of the old people
Summary
• The problem of aging society is a global problem, we need to work together to solve it. As college students, we must get to know it, understand it and try to solve it.
