Well I had a unique seat that day. I was sitting in 1D. I was the only one who can talk to the flight attendants. So I looked at them right away, and they said, "No problem. We probably hit some birds." The pilot had already turned the plane around, and we weren't that far. You could see Manhattan.

Good afternoon everyone,Today, I am here to share with you three important life lessons that I learned from a tragic plane crash. My name is Jane, and I am a survivor of Flight 427. On September 8th, 1994, I was travelling on a commercial flight from Chicago to Pittsburgh. I was only 24 years old at the time, and it was my first business trip. This flight was supposed to be a routine one, but it turned into a disaster. I still remember the moment when the plane took a sudden and sharp dive. Everyone was screaming, the luggage came loose and there was chaos everywhere. I thought it was the end of my life. However, by some miracle, I survived the crash and returned home with a new perspective on life.Looking back, I realized that this tragedy taught me three essential lessons that I want to share with you today:1. Life is unpredictableYou can plan your life to a certain extent, but sometimes things will go wrong despite your best efforts. The plane crash taught me that we should never take life for granted or assume that we have all the time in the world. We need to cherish each moment, live in the present, and make the mostof the time that we have.2. We need to appreciate the people in our livesWhen I was trapped in the wreckage of the plane, I realized that what mattered most to me wasn't my career, or my possessions, it was the people in my life. I thought of my family, my friends, and my colleagues. I remembered the moments I had spent with them and the memories we had created together. It was then that I realized how important they were to me, and how much I appreciated their presence in my life.3. Life is fragileWe all have a limited time on this earth, and we should never take it for granted. The plane crash made me realize that we are all vulnerable, and we should strive to make the most of our lives. Life is fragile, and we may never knowwhen it will end. Therefore, we must always try to live our lives to the fullest, follow our passions, and take chances. Conclusion:In conclusion, the plane crash was a devastating experience, but it taught me some of the most valuable life lessons that I have ever learned. I will always remember those lessons and strive to apply them every day. Life is unpredictable, and we never know what may happen in the future. However, if we appreciate the people in our lives, live in the present, and strive to make the most of our time, we can find joy and meaning in our lives, even in the face of adversity. Thank you for listening.。

Dear fellow TED enthusiasts, today I'd like to share with you a personal experience that has taught me important life lessons. Last year, I survived a plane crash that changed my perspective on life.As the aircraft started experiencing turbulence, I thought it was normal. But soon enough, the situation worsened, and I realized we were spiraling downwards. Panic set in, and I could see passengers screaming and crying around me. I closed my eyes, trying to prepare for the worst. Then, there was a deafening crash, and I lost consciousness. When I came to, I was lying outside the wreckage, shaken but alive. Looking back, I realized thatthis experience taught me three valuable lessons. The first lesson I learned was the importance of being present. Often, we get so caught up in our routine activities that we forget to appreciate the moment. Before the accident, I would rush through my day, always thinking about the next task on my to-do list. However, when your life flashes before your eyes, you realize how precious every moment is.It's essential to take a moment every day and be present, to reflect on all the things that are going well and things that we are grateful for. This helps us appreciate the simple things in life and helps us cope with stress and anxiety. The second lesson I learned was the power of resilience. The accident was a traumatic experience, and I wasn't sure how to move forward. But, as time passed, I realized that it was resilience that kept me going.Resilience is the ability to recover from adversity. It's a crucial skill that helps us bounce back from setbacks and challenges. Being resilient doesn't mean that we don't feel pain or hurt; it means that we are strong enough to pick ourselves up and keep going. The third and most important lesson I learned was to live life authentically. After the accident, I realized that life is too short to live it based on other people's expectations. We live in a world where we are constantly bombarded with images of the perfect life, and we are often forced toconform to society's norms. However, we must have the courage to be true to ourselves and live an authentic life.To live an authentic life, we must be honest with ourselves about our goals, values, and priorities. It's okay to have fears and uncertainties, but we must not let them define us. It's essential to take ownership of our lives and make choices that align with our true selves. In conclusion, the plane crash was a life-changing experience that taught me valuable lessons that I will carry with me forever. It reminded me of the importance of being present, being resilient, and living an authentic life. I hope that my experience will inspire you to reflect on your own life and find meaning in the simple things. Thank you.。

From Plane Crashes to Personal Growth: My TED English SpeechGood afternoon everyone,I am honored to have the opportunity to share my personal reflections with you today. As you may know, I am a frequent traveler and have always held a deep fascination for planes and aviation. However, as much as I love flying, I also understand that plane crashes can occur at any time, causing devastating loss and pain. While these tragic events have always troubled me, I have come to realize that we can learn a great deal from them, both in terms of aviation safety and personal growth.Firstly, let us discuss what we can learn about aviation safety from plane crashes. In recent years, there have been several high-profile crashes involving large commercial airlines. These incidents have led to extensiveinvestigations and analysis of the causes of the accidents, as well as changes in aviation regulations and safety protocols. For instance, the tragic crash of Lion Air Flight610 in 2018 resulted in new training procedures for pilotsand updated aircraft manuals that highlighted key safety features and procedures. Similarly, the FAA in the US has implemented new regulations on cockpit automation and pilot fatigue to prevent future accidents. These examples demonstrate that the aviation industry has been able to learn from its mistakes and make important changes that increase safety for passengers and crew. However, this process of learning and adapting has not always beeneasy or straightforward. It requires a willingness to face difficult truths and acknowledge where we have gone wrong. It also requires collaboration between different stakeholders, including airlines, regulators, and manufacturers, to work towards a common goal. Now, let us turn to what we can learn about personal growth from plane crashes. In my opinion, one of the most profound lessons we can take away from these tragic events is the importance of resiliency in the face of adversity. When a plane crashes, it is a catastrophic event that can leave survivors and loved ones feeling hopeless and helpless. Yet, many people have demonstrated an incredible ability to bounce back from such trauma and rebuild their lives. For example, consider the remarkable story of Alfred Nichols, a survivor of the 1989 United Airlines Flight 232 crash in Sioux City, Iowa. Despite the odds against survival, Nichols managed to survive the crash and even help others make it out alive. In the aftermath of the crash, he faced physical and emotional challenges, including burns and PTSD. However, he drew on his inner strength and the support of others to overcome these challenges and rebuild his life.Similarly, the 2010 plane crash in Colombia involving the Chapecoense soccer team is a heart-wrenching tragedy that claimed the lives of most of the team's players and staff. However, members of the team and their families have shown an incredible ability to persevere and find meaning in their loss. Through initiatives like the Chapecoense Foundation, they have worked to honor the memory of their loved ones and continue the team's legacy of resilience. In conclusion, while plane crashes are undoubtedly tragic events, we can draw important lessons from them that go beyond aviation safety. By learning from our mistakes and working towards common goals, we can increase safety for everyone. Moreover, by embracing our resiliency and findingmeaning in adversity, we can grow as individuals and communities. Thank you for your attention, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts.。

Ladies and gentlemen,Today, I would like to talk to you about a tragic event that happened a few years ago – the plane crash. This incident shook the world and brought pain to countless families. However, out of this tragedy, we can find valuable lessons that we can carry with us.Firstly, we learn about the importance of safety protocols. In aviation, safety protocols are critical to ensuring that passengers and crew members are safe. However, these protocols are not just essential in aviation – they are necessary in every aspect of life. Whether we are driving a car, crossing the street, or using electrical appliances, we must always follow safety protocols to avoid accidents.Secondly, we learn about the significance of teamwork. In an aviation setting, pilots, co-pilots, air traffic controllers, and ground crews all have to work together to ensure that the plane takes off and lands safely. Good communication, cooperation, and coordination are vital to achieving this. Similarly, in any organization or workplace, teamwork is essential to achieving success. When we work well together, we can produce the best possible outcomes.Thirdly, we learn about the importance of humility. In today's world, where technology is advancing rapidly, thereis a tendency to believe that we can overcome any obstacle with our knowledge and expertise. However, we must remember that we are human and we are fallible. Even the most skilled and experienced pilots can make mistakes. Therefore, we must always be humble and recognize our limitations. We should be open to learning from others, accepting feedback and seeking advice when needed.Fourthly, we learn about the power of resilience. After a tragedy like a plane crash, we often see the resilience of people who carry on despite the pain and suffering they have experienced. The human spirit is incredibly resilient, and we have the capacity to overcome even the toughest challenges. We can draw strength from the support of others, the bravery of those who faced the challenge head-on, and the belief that we can emerge from the darkness and into the light. Finally, we learn about the importance of valuing life. A plane crash, or any accident, reminds us that life isprecious and fragile. We must cherish every moment we have and never take life for granted. When we value life, we are more likely to take care of ourselves and those around us.In conclusion, the plane crash was a tragic event that we will never forget. However, we can honor those whose lives were lost by learning the valuable lessons from this experience. We must prioritize safety, work together, be humble, be resilient, and value life. By doing so, we can build a better world for ourselves and future generations. Thank you.。

Title: Three Lessons I Learned from a Plane Crash - A TED TalkIntroduction:Ladies and gentlemen, today I stand before you to share a personal experience that forever changed my life. It's a story of survival, resilience, and the valuable lessons I learned from a plane crash. Join me as I recount the three most important takeaways that have shaped my perspective on life.1. Appreciating the Fragility of Life:The moment I found myself plummeting through the sky in an uncontrollable aircraft, I realized just how fragile our existence is. It made me appreciate the value of each breath, each heartbeat. We often take life for granted, forgetting that it can be snatched away in an instant. This humbling experience taught me to cherish every moment, to live fully, and to never lose sight of what truly matters.2. Embracing Resilience and Adaptability:Surviving a plane crash requires more than mere luck; it demands resilience and the ability to adapt to unpredictable circumstances. In the face of adversity, our natural instinct is to panic. But through this harrowing experience, I learned the power of a calm mind and focused determination. It taught me to embrace resilience, to find strength within myself, and to adapt to any situation life throws my way. Challenges will come, but I am now equipped with the mindset to confront them head-on.3. Embracing Empathy and Connection:During the aftermath of the crash, I witnessed the incredible power of human connection and empathy. Strangers rushed to each other's aid, extending a hand and offering comfort amidst the chaos. In that moment, I realized the importance of fostering genuine connections with others. We are all on this journey together, facing our own battles, and it is through empathy and understanding that we can lift each other up. This experience sparked a deep desire within me to connect with and serve those around me, to make a positive impact in their lives. Conclusion:In the face of tragedy, it is up to us to find the silver lining, to extract meaning from the darkest moments of our lives. Through the plane crash I survived, I learned the sacredness of life, the power of resilience, and the importance of human connection. These lessons have shaped the person I am today, and I hope that by sharing them, I can inspire you to embrace these virtues as well. Let us never forget the beauty and fragility of life, for it is in embracing these truths that we truly learn to live.。

About this Talk:Ric Elias had a front-row seat on Flight 1549, the plane that crash-landed in the Hudson River in New York in January 2009. What went through his mind as the doomed plane went down? At TED, he tells his story publicly for the first time.About the Speaker:Ric Elias is the CEO of Red Ventures, a marketing services company that grew out of Elias' long experience in business.Transcript:Imagine a big explosion as you climb through 3,000 ft. Imagine a plane full of smoke. Imagine an engine going clack, clack, clack, clack, clack, clack, clack. It sounds scary. Well I had a unique seat that day. I was sitting in 1D. I was the only one who could talk to the flight attendants. So I looked at them right away, and they said, "No problem. We probably hit some birds." The pilot had already turned the plane around, and we weren't that far. You could see Manhattan. Two minutes later, three things happened at the same time. The pilot lines up the plane with the Hudson River. That's usually not the route. (Laughter) He turns off the engines. Now imagine being in a plane with no sound. And then he says three words -- the most unemotional three words I've ever heard. He says, "Brace for impact." I didn't have to talk to the flight attendantanymore. (Laughter) I could see in her eyes, it was terror. Life was over. Now I want to share with you three things I learned about myself that day.I learned that it all changes in an instant. We have this bucket list, we have these things we want to do in life, and I thought about all the people I wanted to reach out to that I didn't, all the fences I wanted to mend, all the experiences I wanted to have and I never did. As I thought about that later on, I came up with a saying, which is, "I collect bad wines." Because if the wine is ready and the person is there, I'm opening it. I no longer want to postpone anything in life. And that urgency, that purpose, has really changed my life. The second thing I learned that day -- and this is as we clear the George Washington Bridge, which was by not a lot -- I thought about, wow, I really feel one real regret. I've lived a good life. In my own humanity and mistakes, I've tried to get better at everything I tried. But in my humanity, I also allow my ego to get in. And I regretted the time I wasted on things that did not matter with people that matter. And I thought about my relationship with my wife, with my friends, with people. And after, as I reflected on that, I decided to eliminate negative energy from my life. It's not perfect, but it's a lot better. I've not had a fight with my wife in two years. It feels great. I no longer try to be right; I choose to be happy. The third thing I learned -- and this is as your mental clock startsgoing, "15, 14, 13." You can see the water coming. I'm saying, "Please blow up." I don't want this thing to break in 20 pieces like you've seen in those documentaries. And as we're coming down, I had a sense of, wow, dying is not scary. It's almost like we've been preparing for it our whole lives. But it was very sad. I didn't want to go; I love my life. And that sadness really framed in one thought, which is, I only wish for one thing.I only wish I could see my kids grow up. About a month later, I was at a performance by my daughter -- first-grader, not much artistic talent ... ... yet. (Laughter) And I'm balling, I'm crying, like a little kid. And it made all the sense in the world to me. I realized at that point, by connecting those two dots, that the only thing that matters in my life is being a great dad. Above all, above all, the only goal I have in life is to be a good dad.I was given the gift of a miracle, of not dying that day. I was given another gift, which was to be able to see into the future and come back and live differently. I challenge you guys that are flying today, imagine the same thing happens on your plane -- and please don't -- but imagine, and how would you change? What would you get done that you're waiting to get done because you think you'll be here forever? How would you change your relationships and the negative energy in them? And more than anything, are you being the best parent you can? 1.I no longer want to postpone anything in life. And that urgency, thatpurpose, has really changed my life.2.I no longer try to be right; I choose to be happy.3.I was given another gift, which was to be able to see into the futureand come back and live differently.。

Two minutes later, 3 things happened at the same time. The pilot lines up the plane with the Hudson River. That's usually not the route. He turns off the engines. Now imagine being in a plane with no sound. And then he says 3 words-the most unemotional 3 words I've ever heard. He says, "Brace for impact."

”。

Imagine a big explosion as you climb through 3,000 ft. Imagine a plane full of smoke. Imagine an engine going clack, clack, clack, clack, clack, clack, clack. It sounds scary.

Well I had a unique seat that day. I was sitting in 1D. I was the only one who can talk to the flight attendants. So I looked at them right away, and they said, "No problem. We probably hit some birds." The pilot had already turned the plane around, and we weren't that far. You could see Manhattan.。

”I didn't have to talk to the flight attendant anymore. I could see in her eyes, it was terror. Life was over.

Now I want to share with you 3 things I learned about myself that day.

I leant that it all changes in an instant. We have this bucket list, we have these things we want to do in life, and I thought about all the people I wanted to reach out to that I didn't, all the fences I wanted to mend, all the experiencesI wanted to have and I never did. As I thought about that later on, I came up with a saying, which is, "collect bad wines". Because if the wine is ready and the person is there, I'm opening it. I no longer want to postpone anything in life. And that urgency, that purpose, has really changed my life.

The second thing I learnt that day - and this is as we clear the George Washington bridge, which was by not a lot - I thought about, wow, I really feel one real regret, I've lived a good life. In my own humanity and mistaked, I've tired to get better at everything I tried. But in my humanity, I also allow my ego to get in. And I regretted the time I wasted on things that did not matter with people that matter. And I thought about my relationship with my wife, my friends, with people. And after, as I reflected on that, I decided to eliminate negative energy from my life. It's not perfect, but it's a lot better. I've not had a fight with my wife in 2 years. It feels great. I no longertry to be right; I choose to be happy.

The third thing I learned - and this's as you mental clock starts going, "15, 14, 13." You can see the water coming. I'm saying, "Please blow up." I don't want this thing to break in 20 pieces like you've seen in those documentaries. And as we're coming down, I had a sense of, wow, dying is not scary. It's almost like we've been preparing for it our whole lives .But it was very sad. I didn't want to go. I love my life. And that sadness really framed in one thought, which is, I only wish for one thing. I only wish I could see my kids grow up.

About a month later, I was at a perfmance by my daugter - first-grade, not much artistic talent... yet. And I 'm balling, I'm crying, like a little kid. And it made all the sense in the world to me. I realized at that point by connecting those two dots, that the only thing that matters in my life is being a great dad. Above all, above all, the only goal I have in life is to be a good dad.
