这节课的整个教学设计过程以“Have a d ebate”(辩论赛)为任务，引导学生从课文入手，学习本课的单词及功能句，并通过教师设计的judge the sentences，recall and s tick the pictures, find differences, chant等形式多样、充满趣味和挑战的语言操练活动，有层次、有梯度地巩固句型，并对单词进行了有效拓展。
在完成辩论赛的任务过程中，学生们学习语言、运用语言，发展综合语言运用能力，达到“学以致用”的目的。
二、教学背景分析1．教学内容分析：本节课是《新概念英语青少版Starter B》Unit10 Lesson1 W hat pretty flowers!的第一课时，讲述了Robert和爷爷奶奶回到乡村，很欣喜的看到乡村的美丽景色，并展开讨论这样一个故事。
教学内容包括Listen, read and say和Listen and say.其中Listen and say部分包括的词汇有：countryside, field, flower, hill, river, town, tree。
本课将学习新句型There are...用以描述某地有某些东西。
本课以讨论乡村好还是城镇好为任务，采取分组辩论PK的形式，学生对此会有强烈的兴趣。
学生在完成任务的过程中能充分运用本课所学语言并能调动他们已学的词汇表达思想，充分体现语言学习的工具性，在辩论的过程中，学生们赞美城市、赞美乡村，赞美自己的故乡，抒发自己对家乡的积极情感，体现了语言学习的人文性。
