Part of me can't wait for all the adventures to start, but another part of me doesn't want it to go by too fast. What Are Your Plans?Oh boy, I can't wait for summer vacation! School has been fun and all, but I'm really looking forward to having a break from all the homework and tests and early mornings. Summer means freedom! Two whole months to do whatever I want, whenever I want. No more rigid schedule, no more raising my hand to get permission to go to the bathroom. It's going to be awesome!Of course, my parents will probably still make me do some educational stuff to prevent "summer learning loss" or whatever they call it. But I don't mind too much, as long as it's not too boring. Maybe we can go on some field trips to museums or historical sites. Last year we went to an art museum and I actually had a pretty good time checking out all the weird paintings and sculptures. Who knew art could be so funky?I definitely plan to spend a lot of time outdoors this summer. My neighborhood friends and I already have big plans for our annual lemonade stand business. We're hoping to raise enough money to go to that new trampoline park that just opened up. Wouldn't it be cool if we could have a huge trampoline in our backyards? We'd never come inside!Speaking of the backyard, I'm sure I'll be out there a ton working on my basketball skills. I've been practicing my free throws every day after school and I'm getting pretty good. Maybe by the end of summer I'll be good enough to try out for the school team next year. A kid can dream, right?We usually take at least one family vacation too. Last summer we went camping which was fun, despite the lack of WiFi and electronics. This year I'm crossing my fingers we go somewhere with a beach. I'd love to go swimming andbodyboarding in the ocean every day. Building sandcastles, burying my little brother in the sand, roasting marshmallows around the campfire at night - that's my idea of the perfect summer getaway!Of course, no summer is complete without a visit to the county fair. My favorite is the bumper cars, but the Tilt-a-Whirl makes me want to puke. I have to go on it though, for the adrenaline rush!One new thing I want to try this summer is sleepaway camp.A few kids from my class went last year and they said it was a blast. Campfires, talent shows, swimming in the lake, ziplining through the woods - sign me up! I'll probably be a little homesick at first, but I think I can handle being away from my parents for a week or two. It'll be like great practice for eventually going away to college.Of course, I'll need plenty of relaxation time too.osos I plan to spend a decent chunk of summer just chilling at home. Sleeping in as late as I want, having my mom make me pancakes for breakfast, plopping down on the couch to read comics andwatch cartoons.
