1.An Unforgettable LessonLast Friday , we had a lesson and it was really unforgettable because it was the last lesson given by our kind English teacher ,Mr Tang. When Mr Tang slowly went into the classroom ,we could see clearly that it was hard for him to leave us though he had taught us for only three months.He said something about him future plan ,which moved us all deeply.Then he started the last lesson.We all listened attentively to every word he said .If only we had done like this before!The naughty boys unusually behaved well in this last lesson. It was obviousthat all of us had the common feeling that we wouldn't let him go.Though we didn't want our good teacher to go ,it seemed to be too late . As the saying goes,"only when we lose something do we realize the value of it."(这句你应该能理解) At last,with the bell ringing,Mr Tang looked at us all soulfully(深情地) and expressed what he thought. He hoped that we would make progress in our study and become good citizens in society. What an unforgettable lesson!2.On Keeping PetsThe phenomenon of keeping pets is nothing strange nowadays. And when it comes to the topic if it’s good for people to keep pets, people have different kinds of opinions.Some people assume that it’s good to keep pets in the house, espe cially for the olds. The pets can keep them company as well as make them feel safe. As for kids, keeping pets around them makes them more caring and more compassionate which is quite a good way for young parents to educate their children. Moreover, pets can also look after the house and when there’s no one at home.However, others argue that keeping pets is not good. In, their opinion, keepingpets is not healthy since pets may have some viruses with them which you don’t even know. What’s more, pets’ defeca ting indiscriminately makes cities dirty. Caring the pets with you when taking public transport like buses is not so convenient, because other people might have a pet allergy.As far as I am concerned, it depends on the situation if it’s good to keep a pet or not. But, no matter what, if one keeps pets, he or she should treat them in the right way. For instance, washing pets regularly to keep them clean, and it’s better don’t carry a pet with you when taking public transport.3.Is a Test of Spoken English Necessary?Different people have different opinions about the necessity of a test of spoken English in the College English Test. Some people believe that a test of spoken English is necessary because spoken English is an important part of the language. Only when one speaks fluent English can we say that he has really a command of the language. So a test ought to be devised to assess the learner's ability in spoken English.Other people, however, think that a test of written English is enough and test of spoken English is not necessary at all. They hold that one's competence in English can be shown in a test of written English, and a test of spoken English will be difficult to carry out, and will, moreover, add to the burden of the students.In my opinion, a test of spoken English is absolutely necessary, because I believe it is of great importance for every foreign language leaner to speak the language with fluency. For one thing, more and more foreigner are coming to China every year, a large number of people who can speak English fluently are badlyneeded in all walks of life. For another, the four skills, listening, speaking, reading and writing in language learning are closely related. A test of spoken English will stimulate the other skills in English learning.4.The Use of Computers in SchoolWith the rapid development of technology today, computers are getting more an d more available in every corner. For instance, computers are widely used on campus, especially in college.Firstly, teachers make use of computers no matter in Chinese or English classes. Generally speaking, they take it as an essential tool to prepare their courses. On one h and, they use the software of Microsoft PowerPoint or Microsoft Word to build cours eware; on the other hand, they, off and on, show us a hit song or a popular movie. So metimes they use the computer to explain the structure of our school management as well as the working pattern.Secondly, students make use of computers both in learning and entertainment. A s a student, I would like to search the information on the Internet to know about the w orld and communicate with my friends far away, and so as my roommates. Occasiona lly, we also play games with each other or with our friends, and family and other peo ple through the Internet when we are leisure.However, nothing is perfect unless setting aside their disadvantages. Computer would be a rapier if we haven't handled it properly. We will lose ourselves in an illuso ry world that we set up in our mind and unwilling to come out yet. In a world, compu ters offer us plenty of convenience with which we live in an easier life but it can also be a block that prevents humans from evolution.。
