特洛伊之战开头英语作文Title: The Prelude to the Trojan War。

The Trojan War, a legendary conflict immortalized in Homer's epic poems, marks a pivotal moment in ancient Greek history and mythology. Its beginning, steeped in divine intervention and human ambition, sets the stage for a saga of heroism, tragedy, and timeless glory. At the heart of this epic tale lies the infamous abduction of Helen, the most beautiful woman in the world, by Paris, prince of Troy. This audacious act, fueled by love and desire, ignited the flames of war that engulfed the ancient world. But the seeds of discord were sown long before Paris set foot in Sparta. The catalyst for the Trojan War can be traced back to the wedding of Peleus and Thetis, where Eris, the goddess of discord, tossed a golden apple inscribed with the words "For the Fairest" among the goddesses Hera, Athena, andAphrodite. Each goddess coveted the title, leading to a dispute that eventually spiraled into chaos. Zeus, unwilling to arbitrate, tasked the mortal Paris with choosing the fairest among them.In exchange for the promise of love, Paris awarded the golden apple to Aphrodite, who offered him the hand of Helen, the most beautiful mortal woman, in return. Little did Paris know that this decision would set in motion a series of events that would reshape the ancient world. The abduction of Helen from Sparta by Paris not only outraged King Menelaus, her husband, but also invoked the oaths sworn by the Greek kings during her marriage. Bound by honor and duty, Menelaus called upon his fellow Greek leaders to honor their pact and reclaim Helen from Troy. Thus, began the gathering of the Achaean forces under the command of Agamemnon, Menelaus's brother and the king of Mycenae. Heroes from across Greece answered the call to arms, including the likes of Achilles, Odysseus, Ajax, and Diomedes. United by a common cause and fueled by theirvalor and pride, they set sail for Troy, determined to avenge the affront to Greek honor. But the road to Troy was fraught with peril and challenges. The Achaeans faced fierce storms, treacherous seas, and formidable adversaries along their journey. Yet, their resolve remained unshaken as they pressed onward, driven by the promise of glory and the pursuit of justice.Meanwhile, in the halls of Mount Olympus, the gods and goddesses of Greece watched with vested interest as mortals clashed in their name. Some, like Hera and Athena, favored the Greeks and actively intervened on their behalf, while others, such as Aphrodite, supported the Trojans, protecting Paris and Helen from harm.As the Achaean armada reached the shores of Troy, the stage was set for the epic confrontation that would echo through the annals of history. The city of Troy, fortified by sturdy walls and defended by brave warriors, stood as a formidable obstacle to the Greeks' quest for vengeance. Thus, with swords drawn and spears raised, the warriors of Greece laid siege to the walls of Troy, determined to breach its defenses and reclaim Helen from her captors. What followed was a protracted conflict, marked by heroism, tragedy, and divine intervention, as mortal and immortal forces clashed in a struggle for supremacy. In the end, the Trojan War would leave an indelible mark on the ancient world, shaping the course of history and inspiring generations to come. Its heroes and villains, triumphs and tribulations, would be immortalized in song and story, ensuring that the legacy of Troy would endurefor eternity.。

The Trojan War has its roots in the marriag e between Peleus and Thetis, a sea-goddess. Peleus and Thetis had not invited Eris, the goddess of discord, to their marriage and the outrage d goddess stormed into the wedding banquet and threw a golden apple onto the table. The apple belonged to, Eris said, whomever was the fairest.Paris, prince of Troy and thought to be the most beautiful man alive, would act as the judge. hera promised him power, Athena promised him wealth, and Aphrodite promised the most beautiful woman in the world.Paris chose Aphrodite, and she promised him that Helen, wife of Menelaus, would be his wife. Paris then prepared to set off for Sparta to capture Helen. Twin prophets Cassandra and Helenus tried to persuade him against such action, as did his mother, Hecuba. But Paris would not listen and he set off for Sparta. In Sparta, Menelaus, husband of Helen, treated Paris as a royal guest. However, when Menelaus left Sparta to go to a funeral, Paris abducted Helen (who perhaps went willingly) and also carried off much of Menelaus' wealth. In Troy, Helen and Paris were married. This occured around 1200 B.C. (Wood, 16).。

T rojan WarLegendOrigins of the warThe plan of ZeusAccording to Greek mythology, Zeus had become king of the gods by overthrowing his father Cronus. Since Zeus believed that there were too many people populating the earth, he envisioned . (想象)Momus(莫墨斯(冷笑和非难的神))[7] or Themis(西弥斯女神),[8] who was to use the T rojan War as a means to depopulate the Earth, especially of his demigod descendants.[9]Zeus came to learn from either Themis[10] or Prometheus(普罗米修斯),that, like his father Cronus, one of his sons would overthrow him. Another prophecy stated that a son of the sea-nymph Thetis, would become greater than his father.[12] Possibly for one or both of these reasons,[13] Thetis was betrothed(订婚了的)to an elderly human king, Peleus(珀琉斯(色萨利地方密尔弥冬人的国王,阿喀琉斯的父亲))son of Aiakos(艾亚哥斯).All of the gods were invited to Peleus and Thetis' wedding and brought many gifts,[16] except Eris厄里斯(不和的女神,夜女神的女儿)("Discord"), Insulted, she threw from the door a gift of her own:[18] a golden apple on which were inscribed the word ("T o the fairest").[19] The apple was claimed by Hera, Athena雅典娜(智慧与技艺的女神), and Aphrodite阿佛洛狄特(司爱与美之女神). They quarreled bitterly over it, and none of the other gods would venture an opinion favoring one, for fear of earning the enmity of the other two. Eventually, Zeus ordered Hermes to lead the three goddesses to Paris, a prince of T roy, who, unaware of his ancestry祖先;血统, was being raised as a shepherd 牧羊人in Mount Ida伊达山,[20] because of a prophecy预言that he would be the downfall of T roy.[21] Because he was unable to decide between them, they resorted to bribes. Athena offered Paris wisdom, skill in battle, and the abilities of the greatest warriors; Hera offered him political power and control of all of Asia; and Aphrodite offered him the love of the most beautiful woman in the world, Helen of Sparta. Paris awarded the apple to Aphrodite, and, after several adventures, returned to T roy, where he was recognized by his royal family.Peleus and Thetis bore a son, whom they named Achilles阿喀琉斯(. It was foretold that he would either die of old age after an uneventful life, or die young in a battlefield and gain immortality through poetry.[22] Furthermore, when Achilles was nine years old, Calchas卡尔克斯(随军预言家)had prophesied that T roy could not again fall without his help.[23] A number of sources credit Thetis with attempting to make Achilles immortal长生的when he was an infant. Thetis bathed Achilles in the River Styx斯提克斯, making him invulnerable wherever he had touched the water.[26] Because she had held him by the heel, it was not immersed during the bathing and thus the heel remained mortal and vulnerable to injury. He grew up to be the greatest of all mortal warriors. After Calchas' prophesy, Thetis hid Achilles in Skyros斯基罗斯岛(位于爱琴海中部)at the court of king Lycomedes吕科墨得斯, where he was disguised as a girl.[27] At a crucial point in the war, she assists her son by providing weapons divinely forged by Hephaestus火神赫菲斯托斯.Elopement私奔;潜逃of Paris and HelenThe most beautiful woman in the world was Helen, one of the daughters of T yndareus廷达瑞俄斯(传说中的斯巴达王), King of Sparta, who had scores of suitors求婚者, and her father was unwilling to choose one for fear the others would retaliate violently. Finally, one of the suitors, Odysseus ,proposed a plan to solve the dilemma困境. In exchange for T yndareus' support of his own suit towards Penelope,( 佩内洛普(女子名);Odysseus的忠实妻子)penelope cruz 佩内洛普•克鲁兹(西班牙女影星)•he suggested that T yndareus require all of Helen's suitors to promise that they would defend the marriage of Helen, regardless of whom he chose. grumble at 对…表示不满;抱怨….[32]•T yndareus chose Menelaus墨涅拉俄斯斯巴达王. Menelaus was a political choice on her father's part. He had wealth and power. He sent his brother Agamemnon阿伽门农(特洛伊战争中希腊军队的统帅)on his behalf. He had promised Aphrodite a hecatomb百牲祭n.大屠杀;百牲祭holocaust, bloodbath, a sacrifice of 100 oxen, if he won Helen, but forgot about it and earned her wrath愤怒.[33] Menelaus inherited T yndareus' throne王座of Sparta with Helen as his queen.Paris帕里斯(特洛伊王子), under the guise of a supposed diplomatic外交的mission, went to Sparta to get Helen and bring her back to T roy. Before Helen could look up, to see him enter the palace, she was shot with an arrow from Cupid丘比特, and fell in love with Paris when she saw him, as promised by Aphrodite. Menelaus had left for Crete[36] to bury his uncle, Crateus.[37] Hera, still jealous over his judgement, sent a storm.[36] The storm caused the lovers to land in Egypt, where the gods replaced Helen with a likeness of her made of clouds, Nephele涅斐勒(云女神).[38] The ship then landed in Sidon before reaching T roy.Odysseus and AchillesSince Menelaus's wedding, Odysseus had married Penelope and fathered a son, T elemachus忒勒马科斯(希腊神话中奥德修斯和珀涅罗珀之子,助其父杀死向珀涅罗珀求婚的人). In order to avoid the war, he feigned madness and sowed his fields with salt. Palamedes 帕拉米迪斯outwitted him and revealed his sanity and forcing him to join the war.[36][45]At Skyros斯基罗斯岛, Achilles had an affair with the king's daughter Deidamia得伊达弥亚, resulting in a child, Neoptolemus尼奥普托列墨斯.[47] Odysseus, T elamonian Ajax, and Achilles' tutor Phoenix went to retrieve Achilles. Achilles' mother disguised him as a woman so that he would not have to go to war, but, they blew a horn, and Achilles revealed himself by seizing a spear矛,枪to fight intruders入侵者;闯入者, rather than fleeing逃走.[48] First gathering at Aulis奥利斯The Achean forces first gathered at Aulis. Idomeneus 伊多梅纽斯(在特洛伊战争中的希腊领袖)was willing to lead the Cretan克里特岛人contingent in Mycenae's war against T roy, but only as a co-commander, which he was granted.[52] The last commander to arrive was Achilles, who was then 15 years old.Following a sacrifice to Apollo, a snake slithered from the altar to a sparrow's nest in a plane tree nearby. It ate the mother and her nine babies, then was turned to stone. Calchas interpreted this as a sign that T roy would fall in the tenth year of the war.[53]T elephus(忒勒福斯)When the Achaeans left for the war, they did not know the way, and accidentally landed in Mysia米西亚(小亚细亚一古国), ruled by King T elephus, son of Heracles赫拉克勒斯(大力英雄).In the battle, Achilles wounded T elephus,[55] who had killed Thersander.神谕处;圣人. The oracle responded, "he that wounded shall heal". The Achaean fleet then set sail and was scattered by a storm. Achilles landed in Scyros and married Deidamia伊达墨亚. A new gathering was set again in Aulis.[36]T elephus went to Aulis, and either pretended to be a beggar, asking Agamemnon to help heal his wound,[57] and kidnapped Orestes and held him for ransom, demanding the wound be healed.[58] Achilles refused, claiming to have no medical knowledge. Odysseus reasoned that the spear that had inflicted使遭受(损伤、痛苦等);the wound must b e able to heal it. Pieces of the spear were scraped off onto the wound, and T elephus was healed.[59] T elephus then showed the Achaeans the route to T roy.[57]Map of the T road特洛阿司(T roas)The second gatheringEight years after the storm had scattered them,[61] the fleet of more than a thousand ships was gathered again. The prophet先知Calchas stated that the goddess Artemis was punishing Agamemnon for killing either a sacred deer or a deer in a sacred grove小树林;果园, and boasting that he was a better hunter than she.[36] The only way to appease Artemis, he said, was to sacrifice Iphigenia依菲琴尼亚(迈锡尼王阿迦门家的女儿), who was either the daughter of Agamemnon and Clytemnestra克吕泰墨斯特拉,[62] or of Helen and Theseus entrusted to Clytemnestra when Helen married Menelaus.[63] Agamemnon refused, and the other commanders threatened to make Palamedes commander of the expedition. 特洛伊之战开头英语作文Title: The Epic of Troy: A Tale of War and Destiny。

In the annals of ancient history, there exists a saga that transcends time, a tale of valor, betrayal, and the inexorable hand of destiny. This is the saga of the Trojan War, a conflict that engulfed nations and gods alike, forever etching its mark upon the tapestry of human mythology. From its inception, the seeds of discord were sown, weaving a complex web of fate that would entangle heroes and gods in a struggle of epic proportions. It began with a wedding, a grand celebration upon the shores of Troy, where the radiant beauty of Helen, fairest of all mortals, kindled the flames of desire in the hearts of men. Yet, her union with Menelaus, king of Sparta, was but a fragile veneer masking the machinations of divine intervention. For it was Aphrodite, goddess of love, who had orchestrated this union, swaying the hearts of both mortal and immortal alike with her beguiling charm. But the bonds of marriage proved feeble against thetide of fate, as Paris, prince of Troy, succumbed to the allure of Helen's beauty, stealing her away to the distant shores of his homeland. Thus, the die was cast, and the stage set for the greatest conflict the world had ever known.Amidst the towering walls of Troy, a city proud and defiant, the flames of war were ignited. For ten long years, the armies of Greece besieged the citadel, their valor matched only by the indomitable spirit of its defenders. Heroes strode upon the battlefield, their names destined to echo through the corridors of time: Achilles, swift-footed and invincible; Hector, champion of Troy, stalwart defender of his people; Odysseus, cunning strategist and master of guile.Yet, amidst the clash of swords and the thunder of chariots, it was not merely mortal prowess that decided the fate of nations, but the whims of gods who toyed with the lives of men like pieces upon a divine chessboard. Zeus, ruler of Olympus, watched from his lofty perch, his thunderbolts shaping the course of destiny; Athena, goddess of wisdom, whispered counsel into the ears of mortal champions; and Aphrodite, ever capricious, wove her threads of desire, ensnaring hearts in a tapestry of passion and betrayal. And so, the years passed, each day marked by bloodshed and sacrifice, until at last, the walls of Troy lay breached, its proud towers reduced to rubble. Yet even in its moment of triumph, Greece found no solace, for the spoils of war were tainted with the bitter taste of loss. Achilles, greatest of all warriors, had fallen, his life extinguished by the poisoned arrow of Paris, and with him, the hopes of a nation crumbled like dust beneath the wheels of fate. But from the ashes of destruction arose a new legend, one that would echo across the ages, a testament to the enduring power of the human spirit. For though Troy had fallen, its legacy endured, immortalized in the verses of poets and the dreams of dreamers. And thus, the tale of theTrojan War lives on, a reminder of the boundless depths of human ambition, and the relentless march of destiny.。

The Trojan War is one of the most legendary conflictsin ancient Greek mythology, a tale of love, betrayal, and epic battles that has captivated audiences for centuries. It all began with the marriage of King Peleus of Thessaly to the sea goddess Thetis, a union that sparked jealousy among the gods and ultimately led to the events that would shape the destiny of nations.Legend has it that the seeds of the Trojan War were sown at the wedding of Peleus and Thetis, where the goddess Eris, goddess of discord, was not invited. Outraged by this snub, Eris decided to seek revenge by causing chaos among the guests. She threw a golden apple inscribed with the words "To the fairest" into the midst of the assembled gods and goddesses, sparking a fierce competition among Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite, each claiming the apple for themselves.Zeus, unwilling to judge between the goddesses, appointed Paris, prince of Troy, to make the decision. Each goddess offered Paris a bribe in return for the apple: Hera promised him power and riches, Athena offered him wisdom and skill in battle, and Aphrodite tempted him with the love of the most beautiful mortal woman in the world, Helen of Sparta. Paris, swayed by Aphrodite's offer, awarded her the golden apple, thus earning the enmity of Hera and Athena. The repercussions of Paris' decision were swift andfar-reaching. Helen, already married to Menelaus, the king of Sparta, was considered the most beautiful woman in the world. Paris, with Aphrodite's help, abducted Helen and took her back to Troy, igniting the fury of Menelaus and the entire Greek army. Menelaus called upon his brother Agamemnon, king of Mycenae, to lead the Greeks in a campaign against Troy and retrieve Helen. And so, the stage was set for the epic conflict that would become known as the Trojan War. For ten long years, the Greeks besieged the city of Troy, led by heroes such as Achilles, Odysseus, and Ajax. The Trojans, under the command of King Priam and his sons Hector and Paris, fought bravely to defend their city. The war was marked by countless battles, both on the battlefield and within the walls of Troy, as gods and mortals alike intervened in the struggle.Despite their valor, the Trojans could not withstand the relentless onslaught of the Greek army. The turning point came with the infamous ruse of the Trojan Horse, a cunning plan devised by Odysseus to infiltrate the city of Troy. The Greeks constructed a massive wooden horse andleft it outside the city gates as a supposed offering to the gods. Unaware of the true nature of the gift, the Trojans brought the horse inside the city walls, believing it to be a sign of their victory. That night, while the Trojans slept, Greek soldiers hidden inside the belly of the wooden horse emerged and opened the city gates, allowing the Greek army to enter Troy and sack the city. The fall of Troy marked the end ofthe legendary war, as the Greeks exacted their revenge upon the city and its inhabitants. King Priam was slain, and the surviving Trojans were either killed or enslaved, while Helen was reclaimed by Menelaus and returned to Sparta. The story of the Trojan War has been immortalized in countless works of literature, art, and drama throughoutthe ages. It has inspired poets, playwrights, andstorytellers to craft tales of heroism, tragedy, and thefolly of mortal ambition. From Homer's epic poems, theIliad and the Odyssey, to modern retellings such asMargaret Atwood's "The Penelopiad" and David Gemmell's "Troy" series, the legend of Troy continues to captivatethe imagination of audiences around the world. In conclusion, the Trojan War stands as a testament to the power of myth and the enduring legacy of ancient Greek culture. It is a story of gods and mortals, of love and war, that has resonated with audiences for thousands of years. As we continue to explore the rich tapestry of Greek mythology, the tale of Troy and its heroes will remain an indelible part of our collective imagination.。

特洛伊战争 讲稿(英文版 最好有PPT)

Today we will introduce a famous story-The Trojan War. We will introduce from four parts: the cause, the process, the result and the comments. At first, let’s welcome my friend ***.Hello, everyone. Today, I will introduce the cause of the war. As is known to us, the war began with a golden apple. But how did it cause such a cruel war? It’s at the wedding of Peleus and THetis, all the gods and goddesses were invited except of Eris(The goddess of disaster). So she sent a golden apple and write “for the fairest”on it. It made three goddesses (Hera, Athena, Aphrodite) argued for a long time. So they find a handsome boy-Paris to commit the decision. Hera promised him power and riches, Athena glory and renown, and Aphrodite the fairest of woman for his wife. And Paris gave the golden apple to Aphrodite, thus making the two other goddess his enemies. With the help of Aphrodite, Paris found the fairest woman-Helen. And Paris carried Helen to Tory, which annoyed Menelaus, the husband of Helen. Menelaus was so angry and called on his brother Agamemnon to start a war, this is cause of the famous Trojan War. Next let’s welcome my friend ****.Hello, everyone. I will show you the process of the war. At the beginning, even the gods and goddesses joined in it. Such as Apollo (the god of sunlight and arrow) and Aphrodite (the goddess of love and beauty) joined in the Tory, and Athena (the godness of wisdom) and Hera (the goddess of marriage) join in the Greek. There are also two famous heroes in the war, Achilles and Hector. Achilles is Peleus and THetis’ son. He is invincible, except for his heel which only known by the gods. And Hector is prince of Tory; he is the most famous warrior in his country. At the beginning, Achilles was not satisfied with Agamemnon. So he seemed not want to join the war. However, Hector killed Achilles’ best friend Patroclus, which made him angry. So, Achilles killed Hector, which inspirits the Greeks. However, because of the offence of Apollo, Paris discharged at Achilles a poisoned arrow, which guided by Apollo, wounded Achilles in the heel and killed him. The war last 10 years and many heroes like Achilles and Hector died in the war. Let’s welcome my friend ****.Hello, everyone. I will show you the result of the war. Look at this giant wooden horse; it’s the key of the Greeks’ victory.By the advice of Odysseus, the Greeks built a wooden horse and hide in it. The Trojans thought the Greeks are afraid and ran away. So they carried the horse into the city.At night, after the celebration of the Trojans, solders hiding in the wooden horse came out, killed the guards and opened the gate. A lot of Greeks came in; they burn the city and killed the innocent citizens. Of course the Greek got the victory. Let’s welcome my friend***.Hello, everyone. I will make some comments discussed by our group. First, people always thought the Greeks are the winner. Actually, there is no winner after the war. Because of the offence of Athena, the Greeks almost died in the sea after the Trojan War. So the peace is what we should look for. Second, the behaviors of the heroes should be learnt by us, such as the braveness of Hector, the wisdom of Odysseus and so on. Third, after reading this book, our minds really changed a lot. The gods and goddesses in the Greek Mythology all have emotions just like humans, even they could marry to their brothers or sisters. Some gods even love men who were handsome. It’s really give us a feeling maybe we can call it “毁三观”in Chinese. That’s all, thank you.。
