Grangoi’s life is saved by Esmeralda, and then he and the girl establish a kind of "four-year" absurd contractual marriage, however, there is no between them true love at all. Introduction

By shaping the distinctive, vivid and several Esmeraldaand the main characters, their love and destiny tragedy to show up as the world's literary history a rare art treasures.In the chapter one，it mainly describes warm-hearted Esmeralda and the cowardly poet grangoi，Esmeralda's beauty seting off by contrastwith the ungrateful poet.In the chapter two,it mainly describes faithful Esmeralda and perfidious Phoebus, the captain of the guard palace.In the chapter three,it mainly describes Esmeralda and Bell ringer Quasimodo ,greatbehavioral change of Quasimodo,showing Esmeralda's humanistic brilliance.In chapter four,we knowthe fight between Esmeralda and Archdeacon Claude.Finally,we realize that good must prevail over evil, light over darkness certainly, this is not irresistible laws of history.

Esmeralda is one brought up by a wandering gypsy dance female, her outspoken nature, cheerful, honest kind, singing and dancing, pole compassionate, from the exterior to the heart is the ideal of beauty. Because here, she was a beggar country, Quasimodo and the general public of love and respect. Her name among them has a "magic effect"."When she came, men and women beggars vicious because saw her face and open for long time. Wandering poet Pierre Grangoi tell she was" goddess "or" angle "in order to pursue Esmeralda, the gypsy girl. Grangoi strayed Romany beggars region. According to the rule of the "miracle dynasty", the poor should be sentenced to death. But the court to allow him to defend himself, to permit him to perform steal skill .If a woman willing to marry him, he will be able to escape death. Actually Esmeralda is very offensive Grangoi and had warned him many times, but in order to save his life, Esmeralda promised to come forward with his "broken-jar” to marry. "Esmeralda did so not really in love him, but simply to him from the doom before he put his own protection below. In order to have nothing to do with a person's life and in total disregard of self own interests and reputation, Esmeralda showed a high level of humanitarian sacrifice and full of compassion and caring.

小说家雨果的浪漫主义以1482年路易十一统治下的法国为背景,运用美与丑、善与恶的艺术对照原则,既批判了中世纪宗教的虚伪,又揭露了当时昏庸黑暗的封建统治.小说成功地塑造了一系列个性鲜明的人物形象,给读者展现了一幅“魔鬼”与“天使”殊死搏斗的画面.同时引导人们不断追求“真”、“善”、“美”,与一切“丑”的事物作斗争,追求美的意境,缔造美的境界. 小说成功地塑造了个性鲜明，栩栩如生的经典人物形象，人物形象的对照无疑是巴黎圣母院的精髓。
