Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen, I’m___________________, it’s my great honor to be here to share my lesson with you. My topic is Unit1 Lesson1 A perfect day. My presentation is composed of five parts. Now I’ll introduce them one by one.

Part 1 Teaching material

This unit is about lifestyles. Lesson1 is a reading class. The passage is about two men’s different lifestyles. There are about 15 new words in the passage. Before this class, students have previewed the new words and read them after tape. In this lesson, students will learn more about the words , read the passage and do some exercises.

Part 2. Teaching aims

First, Knowledge aims: Students should master the key words and expressions.

Second, Ability aims: to improve students’ abilities of guessing words’ meanings and reading comprehension.

Third, Emotional aims: to increase students’ interest in healthy lifestyles.

Part 3. Important and difficult points

The important points are some useful words and phrases,such as complain, switch on…The difficult points mainly focus on how to develop students’ reading ability.

Part 4. Teaching methods

I will use Task-based Language Leaching Method(任务型语言教学法) and Situational Language Teaching Method(情境语言教学法). Now let’s come to the most important part of my lesson.

Part 5. Teaching Procedures

I will divide my teaching procedures into 6 steps.

Step1 Lead-in

I will ask students to look at the two pictures on page 8 and 9, then answer the question:

What kind of lifestyles do you think the two men in the pictures have? Use the key words to help you.

Key words: busy, easy, lazy, free, relaxing, boring, stressful, peaceful

I think it can help students to review the words about lifestyles and understand the passage more easily.

Step2 Understanding some new words

Here I will show some new words on the blackboard.

New words: switch on, switch off, couch photo, workaholic, switch over, is filled with, bored, portable, go off, midnight Students should find them in the passage, then replace the new words with the following words in correct form.

1. hand-held

2. upset

3. change the channel

4.turn off

5. make a sudden noise

6. half of a night

7.turn on

8. be full of 9.a person who loves watching TV very much 10. a person who works most of the time

For example, they should replace “switch on” with “turn on”.

In this step, students can have a better understanding of the new words.

Step 3 Reading

First,Fast reading. Students should read the passage quickly, and then do exercise 3 on page8.

Exercise 3 Underline the TV programmes that Brain usually watches and the kinds of work that Bob does everyday.

Second, Careful reading. Students are supposed to read the passage very carefully, then finish exercise 4 on page8. They can discuss with their partners.

Exercise 4

1. Is Brian a lazy person? Can you find two examples of his lazy behavior?

2. What do you think of “you’ve got the world in your feet”?

3. How does Bob spend his morning and evening?
