Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen, I’m___________________, it’s my great honor to be here to share my lesson with you. My topic is Unit1 Lesson1 A perfect day. My presentation is composed of five parts. Now I’ll introduce them one by one.Part 1 Teaching materialThis unit is about lifestyles. Lesson1 is a reading class. The passage is about two men’s different lifestyles. There are about 15 new words in the passage. Before this class, students have previewed the new words and read them after tape. In this lesson, students will learn more about the words , read the passage and do some exercises.Part 2. Teaching aimsFirst, Knowledge aims: Students should master the key words and expressions.Second, Ability aims: to improve students’ abilities of guessing words’ meanings and reading comprehension.Third, Emotional aims: to increase students’ interest in healthy lifestyles.Part 3. Important and difficult pointsThe important points are some useful words and phrases，such as complain, switch on…The difficult points mainly focus on how to develop students’ reading ability.Part 4. Teaching methodsI will use Task-based Language Leaching Method(任务型语言教学法) and Situational Language Teaching Method（情境语言教学法）. Now let’s come to the most important part of my lesson.Part 5. Teaching ProceduresI will divide my teaching procedures into 6 steps.Step1 Lead-inI will ask students to look at the two pictures on page 8 and 9, then answer the question:What kind of lifestyles do you think the two men in the pictures have? Use the key words to help you.Key words: busy, easy, lazy, free, relaxing, boring, stressful, peacefulI think it can help students to review the words about lifestyles and understand the passage more easily.Step2 Understanding some new wordsHere I will show some new words on the blackboard.New words: switch on, switch off, couch photo, workaholic, switch over, is filled with, bored, portable, go off, midnight Students should find them in the passage, then replace the new words with the following words in correct form.1. hand-held2. upset3. change the channel4.turn off5. make a sudden noise6. half of a night7.turn on8. be full of 9.a person who loves watching TV very much 10. a person who works most of the timeFor example, they should replace “switch on” with “turn on”.In this step, students can have a better understanding of the new words.Step 3 ReadingFirst，Fast reading. Students should read the passage quickly, and then do exercise 3 on page8.Exercise 3 Underline the TV programmes that Brain usually watches and the kinds of work that Bob does everyday.Second, Careful reading. Students are supposed to read the passage very carefully, then finish exercise 4 on page8. They can discuss with their partners.Exercise 41. Is Brian a lazy person? Can you find two examples of his lazy behavior?2. What do you think of “you’ve got the world in your feet”?3. How does Bob spend his morning and evening?4. Why does Bob’s family complain?5. Why does he work so hard?In this step, I can check whether students have understood this passage .Step 4 Key words and expressionsAfter reading, students should learn the key words and expressions: complain, take up, It takes me less than 15 minutes to wash, I’m always the first person to get to the office… Students should find them in the passage ,think about the meanings, then make new sentences according to the sentences in the passage.For example, the word “complain”, means “to say that you are not satisfied with something ” .In the passage, the sentence is : My family complains about it.Students should make the new sentence: 我的父母总是抱怨我的成绩My parents always complain about my grades.So students can get the usage of complain: complain about something 抱怨某事In this step, students can master the usage of the key words and expressions.Step 5 Gap fillingI’ll show students a summary of the passage with several blanks. Students should fill in the blanks with proper words without looking at the book.Brain is a ____ . He watches TV everyday. He ____ the TV after getting up and ____ to watch a good play at 9:30. He even takes his ____ TV when he goes out. Bob is a ____. It ____him less than 15 minutes to wash, get changed and so on. He is always the first person____ get to the office. His time ____ urgent matters. He gets to bed until ____.He gets ____ if there’s nothing to do.In this step, students can consolidate the words they have learned today.Step 6 Homework1.Recite the new words in lesson 1.2.
