定冠词的用法
1、表示刚提过的人或事物，或说话人和听话人彼此 明确的人、物。 eg. Suddenly she saw a lady all in white standing in front of her. The lady was smiling.
2、在单数可数名词前表类别。
eg. The dog is a natural enemy of the cat. = A dog is a natural enemy of a cat. = Dogs are natural enemies of cats.
3、表示“独一无二”： eg. the sun/ earth/ moon/ sky/ world
on the table.

冠词
不定冠词的用法
1、表示同类事物中的“一”（强调时用one）或任何一 个eg。. I have a brother.
Please pass me a knife. 2、表示类别或用以概括事物的整体。
eg. A triangle has three sides.
3、表示某一个第一次提到或出现的事物。 eg. One morning an elephant was led down the road where they stood.
8、在形容词、分词前，使之名词化： eg. the rich, the living, the wounded
9、在复数姓氏前，表示“夫妇”、“一家人”： eg. the Einsteins, the Curies
10、在某些固定短语中： eg. in the morning/afternoon/evening, in the front of, go to the cinema
3、三餐、球类、棋类运动、学科、游戏、季节、 月份、星期、语言的名词前不用冠词。
4、节假日前。 5、名词前已有物主代词、不定代词、疑问代词、指 示代词或名词所有格时，不用冠词。 eg. Some birds will fly to the south when the weather turns cold.

不用冠词的情况
1、表示泛指的复数可数名词前。 eg. As we know now, heavy objects and light objects fall at the same speed unless air holds them back. 2、家庭成员的名称称呼语、职位、或头衔前，一般 不用冠词。 eg. Life is not easy for any of us.
