学习英语的趣事篇一：学习英语的趣事说起学英语的趣事，我脑子里第一个蹦出来的就是那次“惨痛”的英语演讲比赛。

学校为了鼓励我们学英语，搞了个演讲比赛，奖品还挺诱人，一本超级厚的牛津词典，看着就感觉知识的重量压在上面。
我寻思着，这词典，我必须拿下！于是乎，我选了篇演讲稿，主题是“My dream”，挺俗套，但胜在简单。
我花了整整一个星期，把稿子背得滚瓜烂熟，每个单词的发音都反复练习，对着镜子练表情，练手势，甚至还对着家里的狗子练习了几遍。
那狗子一脸懵逼地看着我，估计心里在想：这神经病人类又开始发什么疯了。
比赛那天，我穿得人模狗样，西装革履，感觉自己就是那个即将征服全场的雄辩家。

一．国人喜欢把非中国人叫老外。
就算生活在其他的国家，这种称谓也没有改变。
话说有一天，我们在一个朋友家聚会。
朋友是中国人，她丈夫是美国人。
我们聊天时，一口一个老外怎么着怎么着。
说得太多了，她丈夫插话了，我怎么到中国去，你们叫我老外，我现在在我自己的国家，你们还说叫我老外？我们都笑了，说，到哪儿你都是老外，变不了。
.我这里说的外国人，是指像我们这种，以英语为第二种语言的外国人，不是我们常称的老外。

带有汉语语音、词汇、语法等特色的“中式英语”(Chinglish) ，主要是一些人对英语使用不熟悉，硬套汉语习惯或文化模式造成的；另外翻译软件或网络搞笑也会产生这类语言文化现象。
中式英语有的令人拍案叫绝，有的让人一头雾水，还有的使人啼笑皆非。
1.“纸老虎”的妙译1946年8月，美国记者安娜-斯特朗去延安，她要采访毛泽东。
毛泽东在这次采访当中，提出了一个非常著名的论断，就是一切反动派都是纸老虎。
当时担任翻译的余光生就搜索到了一个惯用词scarecrow(稻草人)；毛泽东当时就纠正了他的翻译，说“不行，我不是这个意思，我的意思是纸糊的老虎，是paper tiger”。
从此这个看起来有些雷人的词组就带领着那些生动活泼、新奇有趣的中式英语一路前进。
目前“paper tiger”(纸老虎)、“long time no see”(好久不见)、“good good study，day day up”（好好学习，天天向上）等已成为“正宗”的英语词语，并被收入权威的英语词典。
有关专家认为像这种颇具“神韵”的中式英语还在不断地增加中。
加拿大《多元文化周刊》曾经指出：具有神韵的中式英语为国际英语注入了新的活力，也为外国人了解中国人的思维方式打开了一扇窗，并将更多的中国语言文化元素注入世界多元文化之中。
2.“小弟弟”的故事德国多媒体制作人奥利弗-瑞克(中文名叫“纪韶融”)有一个著名的关于“小弟弟”的故事。
说的是他2000年在上海坐出租车时看见了车里一条标识语：“请带好随身物品”，下面一行的英文“Don‘t forget your thing”却一下子把他逗乐了，因为这句中式英语在英语文化(尤其是俚语)中表达的意思是，提醒男性乘客“别忘带走你的’小弟弟‘”。
在中国人看来无足轻重的thing后面少了一个s，失之毫厘，差之千里。
后来，瑞克对中式英语产生了“感情”，大量收集这方面的实例，然后出版了多本关于中式英语的畅销书，还建立了中式英语网站；其主要目的是为后人保存这种具有中国特色的英语。
他说：“中式英语绝不仅仅是英文能力不足或用语不正确造成的，很多标识语的翻译实际都带有某些中文的概念；这些概念丰富了英语，给英语带来了一些中国的风味甚至是中国的思维方式。
”而中式英语也给他带来了不少“外快”。
3.“口水鸡”的误译5年前，一名成都高校教师请了几名外国朋友到一家有名的中餐馆吃饭。
教师特地点了几道当地名菜，其中一道是“口水鸡”。
外国朋友非常喜欢这道菜，竖拇指连声称赞“味道好极了！“但当他们看到菜单上的”口水鸡“被翻译成”slobbering chicken “(流口水的鸡)时，个个都吓得脸色青白、心胆俱裂。
因为他们联想到了”发瘟鸡“，吃这种鸡很可能得禽流感。
见到尴尬的场面，那名教师只好向外国朋友解释说：“是翻译出了问题，鸡是没问题的。
这道菜的味道好，就会令人垂涎三尺，这就是’口水鸡‘名称的由来。
”他们听完后说：“原来如此啊，真是一场虚惊！”大家都哈哈大笑起来，认为这一由误译而来的中式英语太有意思了。
如果将“口水鸡”翻译成“koushui chicken”，并附有主料和烹调的简要英文说明，就能让外国人避免误解，还能让他们越吃越想吃。
为了规范中餐菜名的英译，北京市外办和市民讲外语办公室最近联合出版了《美食译苑--中文菜单英文译法》一书，为2158道中餐饭菜“正名”；从此该市的餐馆就可以参照书中的标准译法印制菜单了。
4. 警示语的误解2009年8月，英国《每日电讯报》登了一张十分有趣的照片，该照片是一个名叫菲利普-班菲尔德的英国游客在北京颐和园拍的。
照片中的门楣上挂着一块警示牌，上面写着汉字“小心碰头”，而其英译却是“LOOKOUTKNOCKHEAD”。
除了单词之间没有空白作间隔不便阅读外，以英语为母语的人更是将这一英译理解成“寻找诺克-黑德”(Look out Knock Head) 。
不懂汉语的班菲尔德以为是寻人启事，就拍下了这张照片，并把它寄给了英国的报社：这位可爱的有心人希望通过媒体帮助寻找黑德。
照片见报后，马上就有不少人在网站上发问：“你是谁，为什么要找诺克o黑德？”“诺克-黑德正在泰国旅游，有什么事找他？”等等。
如果将“小心碰头”英译为“Mind your head”或“Watch your head”，外国人就一目了然了。
可见，由误译而来的中式英语有时也会引起误解，甚至闹国际笑话。
5.招呼语的爆笑去年10月，在广州举行的第110届中国进出口商品交易会期间，曾出现一幕十分有趣的情景--一名来自深圳的小伙子脸带笑容地向一名国外参展商说：“You good！”开始那名外商有点不知所措，还以为小伙子说他的商品(your goods)有什么问题，后来才恍然大悟：原来小伙子向他打招呼。
他也脸带笑容地回应道：“You good！” 这一颇具“幽默”的中式英语让在场的人们都抱腹大笑。
顺带一提，招呼语“你好”的地道英语是Hi(一般用于熟人之间)、Hallo(一般用于非熟人之间)、How are you(一般用于熟人之间，回答通常是I’m fine，thanks) 、Glad/Nice to meet you(一般用于非正式场合的初次见面，回答通常是Glad/Nice to meet you too)或How do you do(一般用于正式场合的初次见面，回答也是How do you do)。
国外新年趣闻抱头痛哭迎新年（Cry On Each Other’s Shoulders For The Coming New Year）: 印度的一些地区，新年时人们不但不庆贺，反而抱头痛哭。
据说是感叹岁月易逝及人生的短暂。
杯盘碎片送朋友（Fragmentary Pieces Of Glasses And Plates For Friends）：丹麦人在新年前夜，家家户户都要将平时打碎的杯碎片收集起来，待夜深人静时偷偷地送至朋友家的门前。

近40%的受调查民众认为，“随便”(Whatever)是日常谈话中最惹人烦的敷衍之语。

世界各民族语言表达颜色的词语多寡不一，分类各异。
英语和汉语对基本颜色词的分类差别不大。
