Unit1 Reading1.Do you think you will have your own robots?

Traditional Chinese doctors believe that /we need a balance of yin and yang to be healthy. Could you tell me _____________?A.what the matter is with youB.what was the matter with youC.what’s the matter with youD.what’s the wrong with youone’s own + n. Do you want to have your own house?你想要自己的房子吗?2.These robots are just like humans.

辨析:look like; be like; as...as...; the same...as...(1)look like看起来像,一般指外表上像。

(3)as...as...像某人或某物一样(高、矮、好、坏....)(4)the same as ...

Lin Tao __________ __________ his father./Lin Tao _________ _________ his father.

Lin Tao is __________ __________ __________his father.

Lin Tao should have __________ __________ clothes and haircut _________ his friends.3.They help with the housework and do the most unpleasant jobs.help的用法:(1)help sb (to) do sth.帮助某人做某事(2)help(sb.)with sth在某方面帮助某人形容词的最高级:三音节以上的多音节词变最高级时加most.4.Some scientists believe that there will be such robots in the future.

It’s such a fine day.It’s so fine a day.

其结构分别为:such a/ an +形容词+单数可数名词;so +形容词+a/an+单数名词。

The camel had such a long neck.

Don’t make so much noise!

(1) Lucy said that she had never heard _________music before.A.such a beautiful piece ofB. so a piece of beautifulC. so beautiful aD. such a beautiful(2) _________(So/Such) many people, all around the world. Tell me how I can find someone like you girl.(3)

This is ________ ________ __________ _________./This book is _________ _________.5. However, they agree it may take hundreds of years.

用法:agree with sb/what sb says同意某人/某人说的话例句:I agree with what you said just now.

I agree with Mr Li.

agree to do sth同意去做某事=agree on doing sthMary agreed to come on Monday.

=Mary agreed on coming on Monday.agree+宾语从句(2)take用于花时间,不可用于花费金钱。

Our school is so famous that _________people come and visit it every term.A.hundredB. hundredsC. hundred ofD. hundreds of6.Japanese companies have already made robots walk and dance.

本句变成一般疑问句:__________ Japanese companies __________ robots walk and dance _________?

Japanese companies __________ made robots walk and dance____________.(2) make是使役动词,翻译成“让、使”,make sb do sth让某人做某事。

7. He thinks that it will be difficult for a robot to do the same things as a person.

基本句式:It’s +形容词+(for sb) +to do sth,在此处,形容词修饰的是句子中的事情。

拓展:It’s +形容词+(of sb) +to do sth,在此处,形容词修饰的是句子中的sb,所用形容词修饰的是人的品质。

It’s foolish ________him to follow the thief.例句:-It’s very important ________us to make a plan before a new term.-Yes, You must try to make it carefully.A.ofB. forC. to此外it还可以放在feel/think/find等词之后作形式宾语。

例句:These children may find ___________hard to think for themselves.A.thisB. itC. thatD. which8.They think that robots will be able to talk to people in 25 to 50 years.

(1)be able to do sth能够做某事,跟can不同的是:can只用于一般现在时和一般过去时;be able to可用于各种时态。

(2)talk to sb =talk with sb和某人交谈9. They do simple jobs over and over again.

10.That may not seem possible now, but computers, space rockets and even electric toothbrushes seemed impossible a hundred years ago.
