小组项目嘛,早做完早轻松,所以我直接跟他们约时间:“Can I have a date with both of you tomorrow?”

In the tapestry of life, countless moments weave together to create a vibrant and intricate masterpiece. However, there are certain threads that leave an indelible mark on our souls, shaping us in profound ways. For me, one such moment, a moment of profound embarrassment, stands out as a pivotal turning point in my journey. It was during my early adolescence, a time of awkwardness and self-discovery. As I navigated the social complexities of middle school, I found myself longing for acceptance and belonging. In my desperate attempts to fit in, I often overstepped boundaries and found myself entangled in situations that would ultimately lead to my downfall. One fateful day, as I sat in the school cafeteria, surrounded by my peers, I overheard a group of populargirls gossiping about a mutual acquaintance. Curiosity got the better of me, and I couldn't resist eavesdropping on their conversation. Their words were laced with malice and judgment, and I found myself drawn into their toxic circle of negativity. In a moment of misguided camaraderie, I decided to chime in and add my own two cents to the conversation. However, my attempt at humor backfired spectacularly. My words were met with a chorus of laughter, but not the kind of laughter that filled me with joy. It was the cruel and mocking laughter that cut deep into my soul.As the laughter subsided, a wave of shame washed over me. I realized that I had become the object of ridicule, a figure of fun for the entire cafeteria. Tears welled up in my eyes as I struggled to maintain my composure. In that moment, I felt utterly lost and humiliated. However, amidst the turmoil, a flicker of resolve began to emerge within me. I knew that I couldn't allow that moment to define me. I had to learn from my mistake andfind a way to rise above the embarrassment. In the days that followed, I retreated into myself, seeking solace in solitude. I replayed the incident over and over in my mind, analyzing my actions and trying to understand what had gone wrong. Gradually, I came to realize that my desperate need for acceptance had blinded me to the true nature of my actions.I learned that true belonging doesn't come from conforming to the expectations of others, but from being true to oneself. It doesn't mean sacrificing my values or compromising my integrity. I realized that I had to have the courage to stand up for what I believed in, even if it meant standing alone.Over time, I slowly rebuilt my confidence. I found solace in the support of a few close friends who saw the real me and valued me for who I was. I discovered new passions and interests that brought me genuine joy and fulfillment. The experience of profound embarrassment had been a painful one, but it had also been a catalyst for growth. It taught me the importance of self-reflection and the power of resilience. It humbled me and made me more compassionate towards others. As the years have passed, I have come to appreciate the paradoxical nature of embarrassment. While it can be a deeply uncomfortable and humiliating experience, it can also be a potent force for positive change. By embracing the lessons learned from our embarrassing moments, we can cultivate a greater sense of self-awareness, empathy, and resilience. In the end, the tapestry of life is not defined by the moments of triumph or failure, but by how we respond to them. It is through our struggles and setbacks that we discover the true measure of our character. And so, I am grateful for that embarrassing moment in the school cafeteria, for it was the catalyst that set me on a path towards becoming a more authentic, compassionate, and resilient human being.

How to deal with it:考试前夕一定要保持头脑清醒,强烈建议大家按准考证要求准备一个考试list,出战前核对好,不要耽误时间。

How to deal with it:首先,通常来说呢,雅思考官的语速不会太快,不用过分地考前紧张,因为考官还是尽量确保考生们能听清楚问题。

我教你几个替换pardon的说法,让你的尴尬化解得优雅点:‘I am afraid I don't understand you.’;‘I am sorry I don't follow you.’;‘Well, you mean that(此处可加自己的猜测)’……

⼀、参考范⽂ I was in the second year of my university and at that time I lost my laptop with some other necessary papers and the experience was so bitter that I still remember it. I was on my way to home from the university and I took a public bus to reach home. I had my bag with me that contained my laptop, charger, some music DVDs, a pen drive, 2 books and some other necessary papers. I lost the bag so the things that I had in my bag were also lost. I remember that I had my bag with me and I had to stand inside the bus as there was no seat available. After an hour I left the bus and took a shared taxi. Finally I walked for a while to reach home and when I entered my room, I felt that the bag is missing. I got so tensed and get back to the street and tried to remember exactly where I lost the item. But I could not remember exactly where I lost my bag. I felt so low and depressed that I could not sleep at night. Even though I knew that it was impossible to get the stuffs back, I tried hard to have those items back. I reported to the nearby police station, contacted with the bus authority but after 7-8 days I gave up all the hopes I had to get my items back. I felt like a child who lost his most important toys! The laptop was really important to me as it has lots of valuable study materials and other files. I felt so stupid that, I was blaming myself for the whole thing and rebuked me not to be more careful. Honestly, the whole experience and the feelings were pretty depressing. Alternative Answer: Thank you very much for the opportunity you gave me to talk about my experience of losing something. In my preparation time for the given topic I thought about many occasions when I lost something and finally I decided to talk about the experience I had when I lost my University ID card. In fact, I had to go through a series of events because I lost this ID card and probably that’s why I have remembered this event very clearly. I lost my ID card when I was in the 4th semester in my university. I remember putting the ID card in my pocket while leaving home and to reach the University. I took a public bus and then a shared taxi on my way and I don’t know exactly where I lost it but noticed it while entering the library of my University where every student is advised to show his/her ID card. That’s the first time I noticed that the ID card is no longer is in my possession and I searched every possible place of my dress, bag and even in the classroom. But to my dismay, I could not find it anywhere. This ID card was pretty important to me as it was required to enter the University building, library or even in exam rooms and labs. This was the only valid form of Identification Card that I had at that time to show anyone in case I needed to. Let’s say, if there is an emergency check post on the road, and the police men ask me to show my identity, that was the only piece of valid Identification proof for me. So losing it was a disaster to me at that time. I felt pretty bad and was blaming myself for being such a careless person. I wrote an application to the University authority and they suggested me to make a General Diary to the nearest police station. I had to submit several applications and had to publish lost item news in the newspaper before I was issued another ID card after almost fifteen days. In the meanwhile I had to face lots of problems and had to submit several applications that made me remember this event pretty vividly. Similar Cue Card Topics Your ability to talk about this Cue Card would enable you to talk about the following Cue Cards as well: 1. Describe a depressing experience you have. 2. Describe a sad event you clearly remember. 3. Describe something important you lost. 4. Describe a bitter experience you had.。

For example, Terry lost face when his assistant was promoted and became his boss.

Both this expression and the underlying concept come from Asia; the term itself is a translation of the Chinese tiu lien and has been used in English since the late 1800s.

与lose face同理,中⽂⾥的很多短语都被收录到正式的英语中,例如我们常说的long time no see(好久不见), good good study day day up (好好学习天天向上)等等。

Describe a situation that made you angry. You should say1.when it happened2.what happened3.how you felt范例答案:A recent situation that made me angry was getting stuck in a traffic jam on the way to meet some friends. It was last Sunday lunchtime, and I didn’t expect there to be much traffic; people don’t work on Sundays, so the roads aren’t usually very b usy.Everything was going well until suddenly I saw a queue of cars on the road in front of me. I had no choice but to join the queue and wait to get past whatever was causing the delay. It turned out that it was caused by some roadworks, and it took me an extra 30 minutes to get past them.Getting stuck in traffic congestion doesn’t usually make me angry, but this time it did, mainly because I wasn’t expecting it and I knew that my friends were waiting to meet me for lunch. I felt frustrated and powerless because there was nothing I could do to change the situation, and I had no idea how long I would be sitting there waiting. When I finally saw the reason for the congestion, I was relieved that I was close to getting past the roadworks, but I still felt a bit stressed knowing that I was half an hour late.雅思口语:表示非常生气的习惯用语to give somebody a piece of one's mindto tell someone off今天要给大家介绍两个表示非常生气的习惯用语。

It was a really embarrassing incident that happened to me last week. I was at a friend's party and I ended up drinking way too much. I made a complete fool of myself by dancing on the table and singing at the top of my lungs. It was definitely a moment of "making a spectacle of myself". The next day, I felt so ashamed and regretful for my behavior. I knew I had "made a complete fool of myself" and I couldn't believe I had acted so foolishly. I definitely learned my lesson and won't be drinking that much again.

事件发生的时间、地点、人物(When/where/who);4. (What the people did in the event);5. 一至两个亮点的细节描述(What impressed you most);6. 感受(How do you feel about it 或 What you learned from it);事件经历类话题的答题重点依然要放在最后一个问题上(一般来说最后一个问题会问 why it happened 或 how do you feel about it),多数考生也基本可以回答到 3 和 4,但容易忽略的是细节描述和事情发生前的一些铺垫,也就是说答题过于平淡,缺少亮点。

Describe a time you experienced a long-time traffic jam.You should say:when and where it happened;how long you were in the traffic jam;what you did to try to get out of the problem situation;and explain how you felt about that traffic jam. Several weeks ago, I was on a bus to my workplace, as usual. But I didn't expect that the bus would get stuck right in the middle of a bridge. A car got rear-ended by another one, the two drivers were quarreling ferociously, they almost broke into a fight at some point. The traffic police were there, but there was nothing they could do. And all the cars and buses where just stuck there, with drivers honking and passengers cursing. It was totally chaotic.Since I'm just a passenger, I could do nothing about the problem. But if I were the traffic policeman, I would stop those two drivers with forces, and towed away their cars, so that the rest of us could get pass. About this traffic congestion, I felt completely irritated. My work begins sharply at nine o'clock, but it was already eight forty, and there were still six stops to go. I could never make it on time. I tried to tell myself to calm down and read some news reports on my cellphone, but I was distracted and disgusted by the foul language of those two angry drivers, and the complains of other passengers around me. And what upset me even more was that the traffic policeman was just writing stuff on his notebook, without doing anything practical. And I felt sorry for those two drivers. Had they acted more rationally, they wouldn't have caused such a scene. But I guess they would never know that until they saw their pictures on the front page the next day. That traffic jam lasted for about an hour, and it utterly ruined my day. Describe a positive experience you had beforeYou should say:What it wasWhen it happenedWhere it occurredAnd explain why you like it细心的“烤鸭”不难发现,此题作为“事件类” 话题,在以往的众多老话题中都能找到它的影子。
