MVS 无线电设备的 Power Amplifier Board(A4)说明书
DESCRIPTIONThe Power Amplifier Board (A4) used in the MVS radio is housed in a cavity running parallel to the side of the radio main casting assembly. Refer to the combination manual for a complete mechanical layout of the radio. The PA Board amplifies the driver output from the RF Board (approximately 10 watts) to a level of approximately 25-30 watts, over the frequency range of 403-512 MHz.There are no tuning adjustments on the board. The board consists of a single stage RF power ampli-fier. Also included on the board is a diode for reverse power protection, as well as two multi-pin connectors used to dis-trib-ute non amplifier related signals in the radio. Two small jacks are used to apply drive to, and take RF output from the amplifier. The 403-512 MHz range of UHF frequencies is covered by three groups of PA Boards:19C851617 G1: 403-440 MHz 19C851617 G2: 440-470 MHz 19C851617 G3: 470-512 MHzCIRCUIT ANALYSISThe driver output from the RF Board (10 watts, 50 ohms impedance) is matched to the base of Q151 by CI51, C152,C153, C154, L151, and L154. Inductor L152 provides a bias return for class "C" operation. A network consisting of L153 and RI51 enhances stability.Once the drive is amplified to approximately 30 watts by Q151, it is matched back up to 50 ohms by C155, Cl56,C158, L156, and L157. C159 is a DC blocking capacitor, which keeps DC voltage from appearing at the amplifier output.A+ is supplied to the collector of Q151 through a net-work consisting of L155, L158, RI 52, C157, C161, and C162. In addition to enhancing stability, these components also prevent RF from getting onto the A+ line. The amplifier’s output is fed back to the radio’s RF Board where it passes through the antenna switch, low pass filter, and directional coupler before being applied to the an-tenna connector.Diode D151 provides reverse polarity protection. If power is accidentally reversed, this diode will conduct, causing the power cable’s A+ fuse to blow, thereby remov-ing power from the radio and preventing serious damage. A+ is applied through 6 pin connect J903 by feedthrough capacitor assembly Z903. Other non-amplifier related signals are routed through the PA Board for distribu-tion to other boards in the radio. These include A+, switchedLBI-31934CMAINTENANCE MANUAL POWER AMPLIFIER BOARD 19C851617G1 (403-440 MHz)19C851617G2 (440-470 MHz)19C851617G3 (470-512 MHZ)FOR MVSA+, Relay, and volume/squelch HI. A wiring harness plugs into J151 for this purpose.SERVICE NOTESThis amplifier can be easily checked without removing it from the radio. RF input (at J153) and output (at J152) impedances are 50 ohms.Remove all power from the radio when servicing the PA Board. The radio’s power switch does not remove A+ power from the board. There are 9 chip mica capacitors on this PA Board. If any are removed, replace them with a new part since they are easily damaged. Apply them in the exact positions shown in the outline diagram. Failure to do this will have an adverse effect on amplifier gain, bandwidth, and efficiency. PA TRANSISTOR REPLACEMENT1.Remove the two retaining screws securing PA tran-sistor Q151 to the chassis assembly.2.Unsolder the six leads of the transistor, and removeit from the printed board. Be careful not to dam-age the PWB, or capacitors C153, C154, andC156.3.Remove all excess solder from the board nearQ151, and clean the board to allow the new transis-tor to be positioned properly. Refer to Figure 1 andtrim the new transistor leads (if required) to thelead lengths of the removed transistor.4. Apply silicon grease to back of the replace-menttransistor and place the transistor in themounting cut out. Make sure that the base and col-lector leads are not reversed.5.Replace the transistor mounting screws using amoderate torque of 0.5 Newton meter (4.5 inch-pounds).6. Solder the 6 transistor leads to the printed board.Agaln, be careful not to damage C153, C154, C155 and C156.7.Remove any flux left on the board.Copyright© March 1988, Ericsson GE Mobile Communications, Inc.FIG 1 - PA TRANSISTOR LEAD IDENTIFICATIONPrinted in U.S.A.LBI-31934LBI-31934(19C851617, Rev. 1)(19A705304 Sh. 1, Rev. 0)POWER AMPLIFIER BOARD19C851617G1-G3LBI-31934POWER AMPLIFIER BOARD 19C851617G1-G3(19C851618, RE V. 2)PRODUCTION CHANGESChanges in the equipment to improve performance or to simplify circuits are identified by a "Revision Letter", which is stamped after the model number of the unit. The microphone will beshut down automatically if the battery keepslow status.OperatingInstructions75%50%(green indicator)25%(red indicator) 100%The patented color rear cap serves two purposes; it provides easy channel identification and protects the on/off switch. It is designed to allow the on/off switch to either be exposed or concealed asdesired. You can avoid unintended switching off of the microphone by rotating the color rear cap 180 degrees to fix the on/off switch. The cap can be removed by gripping it firmly and pulling; be sure to push it firmly into place when replacing it on the microphone.Note: During microphone usage, the color rear cap must be installed.1.Performer should avoid holding the microphoneover or near the antenna section as this will deteriorate transmission efficiency. Severedeterioration if performer directly covers up the antenna section with both hands. 2.Many performers tend to hold the microphoneby the top grille. Unfortunately, this position seriously degrades both the sound quality and directionality of a microphone. Even the most expensive microphones will have its original sound quality compromised by this method. Grabbing a microphone by the grille will isolate the capsule's acoustic resonance circuit orchange the capsule resonator's frequency. This results in an inferior performance in both frequency response and the separation of directionality. In addition, a palm's sound-focusing effect will tend to strengthenresonances in certain frequencies and can cause unwanted echo.3. A proper technique is required for usingdirectional microphones because the distance between the microphone and your mouth has a significant impact on sensitivity andperformance. There is an inverse relationship between microphone sensitivity and the distance from the mouth to the microphone.Rear Cap has an On/Off Switch ProtectionGeneral Tips for Improving SystemPerformancePress both sides and pull out to remove the rear capTurn the rear cap 180 degree and insert backThe ON/OFF switch is immovableAF Button: Light stands for audio signal. Press it and the light goes out.Audio Input Connector: TA4F mini 4-pin connector accepts any MIPRO lavalier , instrument and headset microphones andcables. (See 5 ways of connection on AF InputConnections)Bodypack Controls and IndicatorsConsequently, performers with a ''weaker'' sound level cannot expect to hold the microphone too far away from their mouth and compensate by turning up the amplifier volume to increase the sound level as this can easily cause echo or feedback. In contrast, performers with a ''louder'' sound level should not hold themicrophone too close as this can easily result in distortion by causing the amplifier system to be overloaded.4.Furthermore, a large-diaphragm directionalmicrophone has a very distinct proximity effect. When the microphone is close to the mouth, the bass response is strengthened as the distance gets closer . Therefore, if a performer's sound is insufficient in bass, they can hold themicrophone closer and use the proximity effect to help compensate for the lower bass level.Conversely, if a performer's voice is too heavy in the bass register , increasing the distancebetween the microphone and their mouth will decrease the proximity effect and reduce the bass response, thus making their voice become clearer and brighter .5.It is recommended to keep the grille and spongewindscreen clean to avoid any substanceblocking the proximity effect of the microphone.Capsule ConnectorAudio Input Operating Instructions1.Insert the lavalier , headset microphone orinstrument cable into the audio input connector before power ON the transmitter . 2.Tighten the connector screw clockwise directionas shown in (Figure 2) for a secured fit.Antenna: Flexible 1/ 4 wave transmitting antenna.Transmitter Housing: Holds PCB board and wires.Battery Level Panel: Display battery status.ACT IR Port: Align and syncs the transmitter and receiver frequency automatically.Power Button: Press and hold 2 seconds to power ON or OFF .Battery Circuitry Protection Reset Button Battery Compartment: Accommodates one 18500 rechargeable battery.Battery Cover: Hinged cover opens to provide access to one 18500 rechargeable battery.External Mute Connector: When an external mute switch cable, MJ-70 (optional) is connected , user can manually mute and un-mute the audio temporary.Belt Clip: Detachable and reversible design allows the transmitter to be worn on a belt, waistband, or guitar strap (.Battery Charging Contact: Align contacts during charging.(a)Metal objects contact is forbidden.(b)It is forbidden to contact metal objects.Figure 1)3.AF Button Setupa.Press AF Button to enter mute mode, andthe indicator doesn't light.b.Press AF Button again to un-mute, and theindicator lights.4.External Mute Connectora.External mute connector is a 3.5mm jack. When an external mute switch cable, MJ-70 (optional) is connected, user can manually mute and un-mute the audio temporary.5.MJ-70 External Mute Switch (Optional)3.5mm jack.External mute switch on/off button.NOTE:Plug it into the device before to power onthe bodypack transmitter.Operating Instructions1.Power On/Offa.Power On: Press the Power button to powerON.
