过去进行时（一）概念：表示过去某段时间或某一时刻正在发生或进行的行为或动作。

可从两个方面来理解： ① 过去某个时间正在发生的动作 例：He was cooking at six last night. 昨天晚上六点，他正在做饭。

② 过去某段时间正在发生的动作 例：I was staying here from March to May last year. 去年从 3 月到 5 月，我一直呆在这里。

（二）基本结构： was/ were + doing （三）与过去进行时连用的时间状语，常见的有at nine last night/ at that time= then/ at this time yesterday / 或有 when the teacher came in/ while he was reading 的提示 四)过去进行时的时间状语 :when, while① while 表示一段时间，因此它所引导的状语从句中，谓语动词常用进行时态，如：I was walking in the street when someone called me. 练习一、用所给动词的适当形式填空1.
