邓紫棋(G.E.M.)出生于上海，4岁到香港定居， 成长于一个音乐世家,其母亲为上海音乐学院声 乐系毕业生,外婆教唱歌,舅父拉小提琴,外公在乐 团吹色士风。由于小时候与外婆居住,在家人的 熏陶下,自小便热爱音乐，喜爱唱歌，与音乐结 下不解之缘。
G.E.M.在5岁的时候已经开始尝试作曲及填词,13 岁完成了8级钢琴。G.E.M.在小学时期就读位于太 子道西的中华基督教会协和小学上午校,为2003年 的毕业生,同时亦为校内诗歌班成员。G.E.M.在中 学时期就读于油麻地的真光女书院,课余时亦曾 参与过体操。高中一开始不断参加不同的歌唱比 赛,曾试过一年内嬴得5个比赛冠军,令她成为学界 的一颗小明星。G.E.M.除了拥有一把令人难忘的 声音外，自小亦学习体操跳舞，让她可以舞姿与 动人的歌声配合在舞台上演出。 现年只有20岁的 G.E.M.，已富有不少舞台经验。

邓紫棋（G.E.M.) , 香港新晋女歌手，于 2008年出道。2009年，她 于叱咤乐坛流行榜颁奖 典礼夺得女新人奖金奖， 亦是该奖项历年来最年 轻，以及第一位未成年 的得奖者，也于2008年度 十大劲歌金曲颁奖典礼 获得最受欢迎女新人金 奖，成为近期香港乐坛 炙手可热的新人。因为 其广阔的音域，得到不 少前辈歌手点名公开赞 扬，传媒亦以巨肺女新 人作为其称号。
